5 inches of snow 3 days ago, 60 degrees today at 9 AM! Wow, Scott - so how warm was it by mid-afternoon? Around here, it would have been in the high 70s to maybe 80. What's your Sunday weather look like it will be? That Pickles is pretty funny. Edward invited me out to dinner this evening - we had gift cards & he had a coupon special deal in email. We went to Olive Garden. I had the Zoodles Primavera with Grilled Chicken; he had the "Design Your Own" pasta-sauce-&-topping. The food was good. We were slightly freaked out over how much their prices have gone up. We ran into DS & L and the Grands. They were wrapping up their meal as we came in. We all laughed - said gee, if we'd all known we were going there to eat, we could have planned to meet up & eat together. We had a few good minutes of laughing & talking. They were heading off to Chickasha to see the Christmas lights after they finished dinner.

Good morning! Wishing you all a blessed Gaudete Sunday!
And on a less serious note:

It looks like we are going to have a cold but otherwise nice day here today, but tonight we are expecting a Winter storm that is forecast to last until Monday night. It remains to be seen if this storm will be snow, freezing rain, or a mixture of both.
And it is not even officially Winter for another week.

Good morning! Cold here too - and foggy. Don't know that I have to go out for anything today, except when Ge'dogg demands mommy go out in the backyard with him. That dog is soooo spoiled! Ge'dogg, little Leela, & Franny were all anxiety stricken much of yesterday and we couldn't figure out why. There were no storms; no artillery fire - nothing particularly noticeable about the atmospheric condition. I gave them lots of hugs and belly rubs but they didn't let it go, whatever 'it' was. I think they were more than ready to go to bed last night. I hadn't heard of Gaudete Sunday - in spite of being in a pretty strict Catholic church for a number of years. I googled and read up on it. Dr. Jeffress continued his series on The Incomparable Christ this morning. Today's sermon was titled, "A Savior for All Seasons." It was really good. It hit me personally because of some people, over the years, who've given up when they were in really tough situations - very dark places - and didn't cling to their faith in Jesus, and disaster in their lives resulted. I also thought of 3 people close to me who relied on Jesus in really tough times and experienced victories they couldn't have brought about on their own. Hebrews 3 were the base scripture reference from which the message came - w/many other supporting verses.

May is a very happy kitty, she got a new catnip filled toy last evening.
This afternoon, she is still carrying it around with her.

I had an early lunch with my parents and then went to the later service at church.
It is getting really windy as well as cold here this afternoon.
Driving home from church the car was really rocking.

A few days ago I saw an online ad. They're selling Indian head cents. I wasn't interested because they were kind of pricey and I already have about 100 pieces. Still, I read the entire ad. The last line read, "This item not crafted by Native Americans." Really! People don't know that?

The last line read, "This item not crafted by Native Americans." Really! People don't know that? I guess these days you can't take anything for granted when it comes to common sense or basic knowledge. I love this! Too, too funny! You guys made me laugh ... I just sat down to catch my breath. I was moving things around in the closet and pulled out a hat, and things shifted on that shelf and started falling on my head. Edward came in and rescued me - he moved the heavy items that I was holding up with one hand. I've found some things I didn't remember being up there. Well, at least everything will be better settled, and there won't be anything up there that I don't really want, once I go back in there in a few minutes. Cleaning off that closet shelf really wasn't the plan for the afternoon, but it has been fun. Later: Sweetie solved the problem with my Hamilton Beach blender. I could blend up whatever but when I picked it up out of the stand portion, the bottom would come unscrewed and everything would run out. Well, I only did that twice! You can imagine what a big mess it was to clean up. I explained to him and he put some water in it, tried all the buttons & they worked fine, and then he picked up pitcher portion - just straight up - right off the stand portion with no problem. He knew immediately what I was doing wrong. The old blender locked into place, and I had to give it a half turn to unlock it before I could pick up the pitcher. When I did that on this blender, I unscrewed the bottom of the pitcher, so of course the bottom fell off. I laughed so hard I couldn't catch my breath! I assured him I appreciate the way his mind works! He laughed almost as hard as I did.

Good morning! It is 31 degrees and snowing here this morning. Not too much accumulation is expected, but this whole day is forecast to be a snowy, rainy, icy, sloppy mess.

I don't know what our school district officials are thinking. The roads and sidewalks here are a solid sheet of ice this morning and we are under a Winter storm warning until 1AM tomorrow morning, but the schools are open today without even so much as a delay.
