Enjoying Day 3 of this Mitochondrial Health Summit. The first 2 speakers were really down the rabbit hole, but I still got something out of their talks. The 2nd speaker is a Quantum Mechanics guy. He talked a lot about energy and electrons. When he got to the very end of his talk, he had us looking at a beach photo & considering the vibration of a grain of sand. I thought of this sand man I'd saved to my desk top. I just have to share him and my big take-away from the talk. Lol This sand man looks like he's standing still, doesn't he? But he's actually going somewhere. Every grain of sand that he's composed of is moving at 2 nano-meters per second.

Happy Feels-Like-Friday Thursday afternoon! Hope you're each and all having a great day! Pretty weather outside today. I was out in it most of the afternoon. Stopped at a new coffee shop to drop off entries in a $100-Visa Card Giveaway they're hosting for holiday shopping. Besides printing the entries in the newspaper, they also put in a Free Black Coffee coupon. Their coffee is delicious! I really enjoyed it. I may drop by that shop again. Also stopped at the newspaper to turn in our votes for the cartoon we'd like to see in the Sunday paper. Pajama Diaries is going away; we voted for Sherman's Lagoon as its replacement. Hope it wins! Besides that, picked up my lab results at the former-hospital-now-clinic on post. Stopped by the commissary for some tall cans of dog food for FaithyJ. I was hungry, so hit the deli section and found a chef salad, a small container of broccoli salad, and an even smaller container of mixed olives & feta cheese. Edward was home when I got back so I split the broccoli salad with him & put most of the olives & cheese in the fridge. The plumber's camera man & a helper came by and scoped our sewer line. We watched; he & Edward talked it over and he had his recommendation ready to turn in. We'll get a piece of the line on each end replaced with new pipe, if the warranty company approves it. I'm loving the weather, for the most part. The dryness is taking a toll on my skin and hair - think I'll see if I can drink more water to help it out. No idea what game this warrior girl is from, but she fits me!

Those are both good! I like Pickles too, unfortunately it wasn't one of the choices we had. We would have voted for Pickles, I'm sure. I didn't recognize the poorly drawn other options.

God morning! It is a cold dark icy morning here with freezing rain. We are under a Winter storm warning until 3PM.
And it is not even officially Winter yet.
Edit to add: The roads are getting really slick around here. I've been hearing sirens every few minutes for the last hour or so.

Good afternoon 😃 It’s rainy & cold here DH & I r on a road trip to DD#4 ‘s home Game plan is we’ll bring her children to our house, while the Navy movers come in next week to pack up stuff Grouphug to you all That'll be a big help for packing up your DD#4's house, and the grands will have a good time with you. I didn't remember that her hubby is still serving in the Navy. That's pretty neat. Hope you're doing well this evening, Mel ... Did you have the opportunity to stay home all day, and skip driving on those icy roads? Had the serpentine belts replaced on the Tahoe this morning. Those 2 were probably original equipment. The long one still looked good; the small one had a bunch of little cuts in it. One project for the Tahoe done. *wink* I have a list, and I'll get them done as time & dollars permit. My mechanic buddy thinks that vehicle should run for 500,000 miles; it has almost 205,000 now. I think that would be great! We're having an Autumn-Themed Sausage skillet for dinner. It'll be warm, filling, and relatively healthy. I need to go in the kitchen and start cooking. Hehe.

I was up at my parents house for a while earlier in the morning while the freezing rain was just getting started, but I got home before the worst of the bad weather hit.
This evening we still have a freezing drizzle and heavy fog.
Only 98 days till Spring.

Glad to hear you maneuvered okay through that weather. Happy Birthday to the National Guard. They are celebrating 383 years today. This is a good link to explain 'how' they predated the formation of the United States, . Great short video included. I'd share the video here, but I really don't know how to do that.

Good morning! Looks like it is going to be another really cold rainy day here, but with a good chance of the temperature getting above freezing this afternoon. I have a new favorite Christmas themed commercial:

That's a cute commercial. Have you ever heard of these comic strips? These were our choices to vote for as replacement for Pajama Diaries: Take It From The Tinkertons Daddy Daze Pardon My Planet Dustin . . . and Sherman's Lagoon, which is the only one we recognized. I'd prefer a return of The Wizard of Id. *wink* Maybe your icy roads will clear off today if it rains. It's a gloomy 46 degrees here. Edward has floor duty half of today - till 12:30. I'm heading to the gym for the Saturday workout class at 10. Probably doing housework when I get back ... I want to watch the Army-Navy game this afternoon.

Sherman's Lagoon is in the Sunday edition of our local paper, but I've never heard of any of the others.
I stopped buying a newspaper on a regular basis long ago, but I still pick up the Sunday paper once a month or so for the coupons and comics.
Edit to add: I quickly Googled the other strips. I can't say that any of them appeal to me.
"Pickles", "Garfield", and "The Lockhorns" are the comics I mostly like.
"Pearls Before Swine" is good sometimes too, but lately the jokes in a lot of their strips have been getting too "out there" even for my weird sense of humor.
