There were 11 2022 quarters in my jar, which was a surprise. Most are from the Denver mint, which may be why there are so many of them in this area. I traded them to Sweetie for 11 pre-1999 state quarters. The state quarters are okay, but I think the pre-1999 quarters, with Washington's face on the front and the eagle on the back, are the coolest. Nita keeps telling me penny production is about to cease and our pennies will be worth a lot more than a penny each. She's keeping all of her pennies. I googled that and it's supposedly false. I'm going to cash in my pennies at the bank & deposit the amount in my checking account. It'll be okay. No idea how many pennies I have, but they're crammed into a 9-oz nut can and the lid barely closes. I like the fact the bank has a coin counter in an enclosed entry area, and they don't charge for using it if you have an account there. Okay ... I'm going to feed the dogs & then see if the salmon is thawed out so I can cook dinner for Edward & me. We've had college football on all afternoon & there have been some surprising results! #1 rated Alabama struggled to defeat the Texas Longhorns in the last couple of minutes. They only won by 1 point! AL: 20; TX: 19. They oughta fall hard out of first place. Oklahoma Sooners kickoff in about 30 minutes against Kent State. They're being televised on ESPN+, which we don't have (have to pay for that, and we pay enough for cable now ). Oklahoma State also kicks off at 6:30. I'll probably have that game on, tho' not sure who Sweetie will watch - he's not an OSU 'Pokes fan.

Good morning PF'ers! It's 65 at present with a light breeze. That's cool for this area in early September. We had showers overnight, but nothing very significant. Fran & Milo are enjoying the cool temps. Leela has stayed on the couch; she's not crazy about wet grass. Thanks for posting the link to Pastor Adam's sermon, Mel. The past two weeks have been a good reinforcement for the 1st Baptist Dallas' series earlier this summer. I'm looking forward to watching today's. Hope y'all have a great Sunday.

I haven't had fried pickles in years, but I've always liked them. Later: We're having a late dinner ... a beef meatloaf with some steamed, seasoned broccoli. While waiting for the meatloaf to bake, I've been reading a low-carb cookbook. It's hilarious. Some of these recipes have such small amounts of ingredients included, and supposedly the soup or sandwich will serve 4! These aren't intended to be 'hard time, eat minimal amounts just to stay alive' kind of recipes, but reading this Sausage-Bean-and-Carrot Soup makes me feel like we're making invisible soup. If there were 4 people at the table, at least 2 of them would have to pretend to be eating that soup. I'm going to make that soup, the next cool spell that comes along - but I'm going to use complete ingredients. It's okay by me if we have leftovers, or if we eat it all because we'd like to have seconds. I'm sure I'll let you know how it turns out. This cookbook is really funny when it comes to eggs too. It has a recipe for Protein Hummus and Crisp Veggies that lists 4 hardboiled eggs in the ingredients list, among other items. The first step in the instructions tells you, "Discard two of the egg yolks and finely chop remaining eggs." I couldn't read that without laughing, wanted to raise a hand and tell somebody to "Wait a minute, now! We are not wasting 2 perfectly good egg yolks!" I can see I'll be cooking a few of these recipes - with modifications! *wink* Hope y'all have been having a great Sunday afternoon. I cleaned bathrooms, finished laundry, and I'm running a second load of dishes. So, things are getting done!

Good morning! It is 68 degrees and very foggy here this morning. I'm having a lot of phantom limb sensation this morning. I suppose that I'm fortunate that I've never really had the phantom pain that a lot of amputees experience, but I do occasionally get the very annoying sensation that my missing leg is still there but it feels like it is asleep. It doesn't happen often, but when it does it can last anywhere from a few minutes to several hours. Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning, Mel! Good morning, Jeanette! It's overcast and 59 at 8 a.m. with 79% humidity. There's barely a breath of wind, but it feels pretty good outside nonetheless. Supposed to reach the high 80s this afternoon, and then spend the rest of the week slowly climbing to near-100 by the weekend. Summer isn't finished with us yet! Small claims court at 10 this morning. Hopefully I'll only be there about 15 minutes after the judge calls the docket - this is one I can dismiss because the tenant has been working hard to pay. She's not totally caught up, but Nita said she's close enough to give her 1 break. Have a busy paperwork day after that. And then, I really want to attend the HOA meeting this evening. I haven't been to a meeting since last fall. So ... high hopes for accomplishing a lot today. That phantom limb pain sounds pretty interesting, Mel. Is it expected to cease in time, or is this something amputees live with forever? Hopefully, if it varies from person to person, you will have less and less sensation of it over time. Hope everyone here has a great Monday!

That phantom limb pain sounds pretty interesting, Mel. Is it expected to cease in time, or is this something amputees live with forever? Hopefully, if it varies from person to person, you will have less and less sensation of it over time. It's pretty much impossible to predict. Some amputees have it most of the time for the rest of their life. Others don't experience it at all. And still others like me have it off and on with no real pattern to when/how often it happens. When I get it, it sometimes only lasts for a short while. Other times it is an all day thing. And sometimes weeks will pass before it happens again and other times it might happen several days in a row. I'm just glad that i usually only have that feeling of my lower leg and foot being asleep. I know some other amputees who have very intense actual pain with it. One of my Dad's uncles lost the ring finger and pinky finger of his one hand in a farming accident. He always complained about those missing fingers itching so bad.

‘Just an update re my world: Saturday~ complete workout: cardio, weights & later in the day, I went on a fast paced 1 1/2 miles (34 mins) walk. Sunday ~ rode bike with a friend, 7.7 miles, in about an hr. Today's cardio ~ mowing.
Of course I've taken a 15 min mid day naps after lunch & piece of pound cake 😋 😁🤪
No nap today though
Whenever I do anything, especially outside, I get knocked down … so I’m either working on old albums or reading a book. Some days I’m cooking a few meals & then eat & freeze a few. Trial & error lol

I dozed off around 6:30 PM. now it is 12:30 AM and I am wide awake! There is nothing like an accidental 6 hour nap to mess up your regular sleep patterns.
