‘Morning Everyone
Temperature here at 5:50am is 71 degrees. Humidity is 93%.
Had set the alarm for 5:20 to take the RX & get moving. Game plan is to go & pick friend up at 7am & drive almost two hours to the zoo. ‘Figure get there when it opens at 9, spend a couple hrs, then drive back.
Praying all goes well, auto gets us there & back, etc.
Thankful for being another day closer to hearing the trumpet sound & call to meet Jesus in the air!

Good morning! It's 77 this morning with 71% humidity. It's a bit stuffy outside - there's no wind. Little Leela's leg is healing, but slowly. We're using a new ointment, stronger than neosporin. She tolerates it better, hopefully because it eases the itchiness of healing. The vet gave her a new cone & she's happily wearing it. I've started calling her "dozer dog" because she plows through anything in her way, to includes the backs of our legs. 1st Baptist Dallas was a repeat this morning. I'm working on my attitude to accept there's more to learn on the subject. Well, "plenty of work to do around the homestead" (surely some pioneer said that more than once lol). I'm going to start with unloading the dishwasher. Hope y'all have a great Sunday!

Your little squirrel avi is adorable, Mel! We had a knock on the door a little bit ago and were surprised to see a police officer standing there. Edward kept the dogs back so I could go out in the courtyard. The officer asked about our elderly next door neighbor. They'd found her wandering and had managed to discover her address. She's Korean and her English is not very good, even tho' she was a military wife for some number of years and has lived next door longer than we've lived here (we've been here 20yrs). She has at least one sister, maybe 2, and a nephew who used to keep the hedge between us trimmed. She's in her 90s, from what she told me about a year ago. The one sister used to come every day and in more recent times I think some family member was staying with her, at least at night. I know she'd been in the hospital a couple of times in the past year or two. She used to walk her dog but she's not been able to do that for some time now. Since no one has been coming lately, I wasn't even sure if she was still alive. I felt so bad that I couldn't tell him anything of much use! I told him she was a sweet lady and basically shrugged. I'm betting she was somewhat disoriented, and she may have been dehydrated. It was hot today, in the mid-90s with enough humidity to feel like the high 90s. She was occasionally a sweet lady but, in earlier days, she was often hateful and demanding - not someone I've ever considered a "good neighbor" although I've been as friendly as I can be whenever she's wanted to chat. Her husband was an Air Force officer who hated kids & dogs (he decided from the moment we moved in that he didn't like us ); he's been gone for several years. There ended up being 2 police cars out front, and I think the big 3rd vehicle was actually an ambulance that belongs to the police dept - 98% of it was hidden from view due to one of the mulberry trees in our front yard. He left and closed the gate so I let the dogs out to see what was going on and then we all came back inside (we were eating dinner). They weren't out there much longer - hopefully they transported her to the county hospital; I can't imagine them leaving her over there alone. It's awful not to know your neighbors, even after living on the same block for 20 years. The only ones we know at all is the retired NCO and his wife across the street, and then the folks on the HOA who I got to be pretty chummy with over the past 4 years. I'm feeling like this --

‘Evening Sorry about your elderly neighbor, praying it all worked out ok for her to be taken care of … Thankful you were able to fill the police in some.
Zoo trip went well. Thankfully we arrived at nine & left once the heat & crowds begin in earnest. ‘Arrived back here after 1:30 …

So, I never really know what God will lead me to be about on any given day …
I got 6 hrs straight through rest/sleep before the alarm went off for RX.
Attempt to relax & get back to sleep, but after about 15 mins, I figure it’s not happening.
I begin my day with reading the Daily Bread, which has an example of the inventor of LEGO’s, read a some history of America & laws that were instituted based on the Ten Commandments, read Psalm 146 & pray accordingly …
I stopped to get something to eat, decide on a cabbage recipe leftovers. Brought it upstairs to read some more, towards the end of my eating, I dropped a tiny piece of cabbage on me & the blanket…
So, a load of laundry to wash the blanket, as I know the smell will be bothering me like in the middle of the night tonight lol
Now, I’m dressed & ready to mow somewhat before the rain starts …

Good morning! Happy Labor Day ... It's an odd holiday, when you think about it, but I've always thought of it as officially signaling the end of summer. It was only 60 degrees at 7 a.m. I took my thyroid med and decided to see if I could go back to sleep for an hour - and I did! Lol The dogs didn't seem to mind, they went right back to sleep too. I have a load of dishes running now, and a load of laundry that I'm going to turn on when the dishes are done. I don't like to run the dishwasher and washer at the same time, tho' it doesn't seem to be a problem if I do, it's just one of my quirks. It is sunny, but really feels like fall is in the air - not too humid, a chill on the breeze, and the sun seems a little further away. Hope y'all have a great Monday!

I'm just taking it easy here this morning. I should probably do a load of laundry, but I just don't feel like it . This afternoon I am going to my sister-in-law's house for their family's End of Summer get together. Tomorrow morning I have to go to the hospital to get an ultrasound scan done of my kidneys. My other chronic health issues all seem to be getting better, but my kidney function continues to slowly but steadily deteriorate.

Hope you have a good get together this afternoon Mel! I'm really happy to hear your chronic health issues are improving! I'm still praying the medical folks & you will be able to get your kidneys functioning better. I'm setting some new passwords this afternoon; it's just time to do that. Certain online accounts are telling me that.

I had a really nice visit with Sharon's family this evening. Originally we had planned to have a cookout, but because of the rain we ended up doing the burgers and hot dogs inside on the griddle. Little Ezri was my buddy this evening. Wherever I went, she was right there. She has just started to walk a few steps within the last few days, and is really starting to take an interest in exploring the world around her. She also seemed to think that my artificial leg was very fascinating. Her four year old sister took it upon herself to teach me how to play games on a smart phone. I didn't have the heart to tell her that I already know how. Edit to add: Ezri has also learned the trick of taking the foods that you don't like and slipping them to the dog.

That little girl is sooo precious! And smart too. I'm happy to have accomplished anything today. I didn't sleep well last night, and couldn't seem to get my head on straight most of the day. I paid some bills; washed what clothes were ready for that, and then washed a load of dog bedding and bath rugs. Also washed a full load of dishes. There are some more but I'm not doing a second load of dishes today. The plan is to turn out the lights at 10:30, turn off the TV, and go to bed. The dogs will probably be happy with that too. Leela & Milo Man played outside almost nonstop for a large part of the afternoon. They'd come inside, flop in the floor next to each other, panting for a few minutes - and then run outside & play some more. Fran followed them in and out a couple of times, but she decided it was cooler to stay inside. No kidding! Hope we all get a good night's sleep! See y'all in the morning! ...
