Good morning! It rained a little over night, but we didn't get the storms that were in the forecast. This morning is sunny but chilly here, but we are expected to get up to around 90 later today.

Good morning! It's already 91 degrees but low humidity so it's not bad. We dropped off the Tahoe with our mechanic buddy about an hour ago. It has a slight oil leak. The brake light panel at the top ofcthe lift gate is also out. We stopped here at our favorite diner for breakfast. I had a Spanish omelet that was loaded up with jalapeños. Spicy but tasty. Nita's on vacation & I have plenty to do today so I'm off to work as soon as I drop off Sweetie at home. Hope y'all have a great day!

Good morning! It was a noisy night here with lots of thunder and lightning and high winds. Not a good night for sleeping. Local news reports golf ball size hail stones in the surrounding area over night, but I don't think we had any of that right here. Today is expected to be rainy all day, but the worst of the storms seem to be over.

Good Morning! It's gonna be a steamy day here, but not supposed to reach 100. The Saharan dust from Africa has reached our area, so it's hazy. Isn't that strange? There's a wind advisory for the 5 counties to our northwest. I'm hoping it's at least breezy here, if not windy enough to warrant an advisory. It's Flag Day, the US Army's 247th Birthday ... and it's Milo's 1st Birthday. Must have had Milo's birthday on my mind when I fell asleep last night. I was dreaming early this morning that we gave him a pair of little black Nike sneakers with bright white soles, and "icy" white lights in the heels that came on when he walked. He only wore them on his hind feet. I was so excited about how cool those sneakers were - I took him to some kind of club with a pool room and a dance floor to show him off to people. The house lights were out and the black lights were on. That's about all I remember of it. Those were sure cute shoes. Our receptionist quit without notice yesterday afternoon so we're "kind of" in a pinch. I've got to go through her desk & see if I can find a key that she was supposed to give to an electrician. He's already called about it this morning. Hope y'all have a great day!

So many old Army sayings come to mind . . .
"Smoke 'em if ya got 'em" (breaktime & some senior guy would say it)
"Keep leanin' forward in the foxhole" (another oldie a retired colonel I worked for would sign off on letters with that)
& everybody said, "Keep ur powder dry!", which goes all the way back to the Revolutionary War, I'm sure! It just meant 'make sure all your stuff is straight'.

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Milo! He thoroughly basked in the attention he received today. I think Milo suffered some 'separation anxiety'this afternoon. I came racing home & picked up Edward. We went to the closest Burger King & used a coupon to have a cheap lunch. Then we circled back to the mechanic's shop and picked up the Tahoe. I dropped Edward at home and headed back to the office. The dogs were only home alone just under 2 hours. Edward said he walked into the house, reached for the peanut butter dog biscuit box - & realized there was nothing there but thin air. The box was flattened and shredded in the floor where the dogs like to snooze - it's where the two hallways come together. And the biscuits had vanished into thin air - or, more accurately, into puppy tummies. I'm sure Milo ate the lion's share of the peanut butter biscuits, but you can bet little Leela was diving for all she could get too. I hope Franny was able to snag one or two out of the pile. Milo was so happy to see me when I came home about 6:30 that he couldn't even act remorseful for what he'd done! I'm so sleepy ... Heading to bed. See y'all tomorrow!
