Good morning! It's sunny & a little breezy. At 11 a.m., it's 88 with a heat index of 96! Oh, my goodness, no wonder we're under a heat advisory till 7 p.m. tomorrow. Hope y'all don't have too much rain, Mel. Is your area well above the average for the year? We're almost 2-1/2" above for the first 10 days of this month; not sure where we stand for the whole year. The teeballers are playing on the field next door. I really thought last Saturday would be their last day, but it wasn't. Of course, who knows, but they may have a summer league that plays over here this year. The dogs have been out a couple of times this morning but they're back in now. They don't need to run the fence barking at the people parked along the sidewalk out here. With all this heat, it's a great day to stay inside and sort files, wash bedding, and get all the dishes put away. Guess I'll see how much of that I can get done! Attachment Deleted

I'd say our total amount of rain recently has been about average for this time of year, but it has been unusual in so far as it has been coming in larger than normal amounts at once with more dry days than normal in between.
Our forecast for tomorrow is predicting thunder storms with damaging winds and hail likely.

Our forecast for tomorrow is predicting thunder storms with damaging winds and hail likely. Praying your area does not get all of that. It's 99 at present with a heat index of 106. Milo and Leela had a ball playing in the old pool earlier. There's enough water in the deep end that, at close to its deepest point, Leela was standing in water up to her belly. Milo wanted to go in with her soooo bad, but he was afraid of the water. He finally leaned down and slipped into the water till it was up under his armpits. That was enough - he was right back out! He didn't seem to understand that if he simply walked out into the water, he wouldn't be in any deeper than halfway up all 4 legs, probably. He'll get used to it, if he keeps trying. I divided a bag of shredded potatoes to put in the freezer a bit ago. While my back was turned, Milo snagged a bag off of the other counter and carried it into the living room where he carefully laid it down next to Edward's trash bag. I don't know what he was thinking so I told him, "No-no! That's Bad Dog behavior!" He knew that meant he was in trouble so he ducked his head & walked back into the dining room. I wasn't yelling - I was whispering firmly because Edward's taking a nap and I didn't want to wake him up. Fran & Leela are napping and I'm hoping that's what Milo has decided to do too. I can't see him right now so I hope he's sacked out on the sleeper sofa, which he's decided is one of his favorite spots. He should be worn out from playing outside.

‘Morning Everyone It’s 72 degrees here at 4:45 am
DH & I had four grands overnight, Friday. Yesterday, we took them to the RKMotors event. The three boys, ages 9,10 & 11, enjoyed all the cars. The 7 yr old girl enjoyed the purchase of $1.00 “jewelry” from a gal. lol
The lady had her doggie with her, as she didn’t want to be home without her human. The lady discovered this after attempting to leave doggie home & stuff happened. lol I don’t remember how long she’s had the doggie …
There was free food, but grands didn’t partake except for the soda & chips. I had bought them some water ice from a vendor, which I ended up finishing up! What an adventure for my taste buds re four different flavors!
Later, DH had a couple of the grands in the greenway, where they raced their toy cars down the hill. The other boy played his tablet, as he didn’t bring his big car to roll & busted up his one car he brought, by throwing it up in the air to smash onto the asphalt. ‘Just left that be ;-X
We then went to a new park nearby, they all enjoyed that! It wasn’t crowded, as hot outside.
Home here, the girl & I had been kind of sort of playing the board game, Jumanji & put the movie on. Kiddos are pop-corn with butter, and one has a couple of hot dogs. Me?
We then returned three kiddos at DD#3’s home & had pizza. Granddaughter painted my nails to match the sparkly bracelets we had gotten. The matching bracelets had mermaid fin on them, in honor of her past mermaid birthday.
Afterwards, we returned grandson to DD#2’s home and swam in their pool a little.
We were home & in bed exhausted by 8:30pm.
‘Figured if I awoke then I’d start the chore of straightening the house after having them over . lol I awoke to stay awake a sometime after 3am. lol

Good morning! It is a chilly morning here, but we are expected to get up into the 80s this afternoon with storms likely. I slept pretty well last night, but my dreams were still on the odd side. In one dream, I was mowing the lawn with a hand held weed trimmer instead of a lawn mower. When I opened my web browser this morning, the first story to pop up on my home page's news feed was: California Animal Shelter Introduces Policy Requiring Support of Gun Control for Pet AdoptionA California animal shelter is adding a new question to its standard interviews for those interested in pet adoption: Where do you stand on gun control? The Shelter Hope Pet Shop in Thousand Oaks, California, released a statement supporting gun control following the Uvalde school shooting and several other mass shootings in the U.S. Additionally, the shelter announced that they would stop adopting out animals to those who oppose certain restrictions on gun ownership. www.yahoo.com/entertainment/california-animal-shelter-introduces-policy-181928041.htmlThe world just keeps getting crazier and crazier. Local news is also reporting that at least two more black bears have been spotted roaming in the area.

Good morning, Jeanette! Good morning, Mel! It's already 99 degrees with a heat index of 104. Gonna be a long, hot afternoon. Sounds like your weekend has been non-stop onthego and busy, Jeanette! I hope you get some rest this afternoon. Hope you don't have any damaging weather, Mel. That ^^^ would never fly in this locale. So those people will needlessly cost a number of animals their lives. You're right, Mel - day-in and day-out, we're seeing one more crazy idea after another heaped onto the pile. It's quite the mountain of garbage at this point. It makes me hug our dogs all that more often and tell them I'm so happy they are a part of our household. Milo slept in our bedroom floor some part of last night & he was very well behaved. He didn't want to be away from Fran and Leela. I'd been shutting the bedroom door to keep him out till about the middle of the night & then I'd open it when I got up to go to the bathroom. He'd be asleep elsewhere in the house and wouldn't get up until he heard my alarm. I've left the door open for 3 nights & last night was the first night he slept in the floor. Hope you all have a great Sunday afternoon! I'm about to turn on the dishwasher and make a run to Tractor Supply for, you guessed it, dry dog food.

A political pollster called me this afternoon. Don't think I gave her the answers she would have preferred, but she did a pretty good job of controlling herself. She started out asking if I was in a "safe place" where I could answer her questions without "fear of abuse or retribution?" Excuse me, what?!? I laughed & assured her I was safe to speak with her! She asked basic things - am I employed? Yes. Am I employed by any media, or by a political candidate or political party? No. She liked those answers. What is my highest level of education? I have a Master's degree. She paused & said, "Oh", with a downward drop. She didn't like that answer. She asked if I'm a registered voter, and in what party am I a member? She went on to ask if I vote in the party primaries occasionally, almost always, or always? She named off some candidates and I told her if I knew who they were and if I held a favorable or unfavorable view of each. She was asking about the upcoming GOP primaries for the Okla State Governor's race, the Okla State Attorney General's race, the race for Okla State Secretary of Education, and the Special Election to fill the Sen. James Inhofe's unexpired term. Then, she asked who I think I'll vote for, and how certain am I about my choices. She wasn't liking my answers much in this section. We actually have 2 Senate races - I asked why I didn't have the option to choose 2 candidates, and why were about half the candidates not on her list? She really didn't like my questions on the subject, told me I only had the choices she gave me, so I named one who I really do support. There were 2 races that I'm undecided about - Secretary of Education and State Auditor, because I don't know anything about those candidates. Her last 2 questions were the clinchers, and she had a tough time with my answers. She asked me to identify the "type of Republican" that I am: 1) Am I a tea party Republican? 2) Am I a social issues Republican? 3) Am I a Trump supporter Republican? ... and I can't remember what the 4th type was because I cut her off & affirmed that I'm a Trump supporter type of Republican. She probably could have guessed the answer to her last question, based on my previous answers. She said she needed to ask me some religious questions, would I be comfortable with that? Sure - go right ahead. She asked if I attend church more than once a week, weekly, a couple of times a month, a few times a year, or never. I told her "weekly." She made a gurgling noise and coughed like she was choking; told me she thought she might be losing her voice, she'd talked to so many people today. Attachment DeletedWe parted amicably. She thanked me for taking the survey and I told her I was happy that she'd caught up with me - I'd enjoyed speaking with her. It would be interesting to see the results of the survey - you know, to know the number of pollsters, the parts of the state they covered, the demographics, and the results to the questions. But no idea how I'd ever find out. Oh, yeh, the lady I spoke with didn't know how to spell the name of the county in which I live (Comanche), and she couldn't find it on the state map. Told her to look in the SW quadrant. Oh, she said, she didn't know how to spell it was the problem - she thought it was was spelled with an A. I wanted to ask her if she lives in Oklahoma? I didn't think she'd appreciate that so I didn't.

A few weeks back, we had some folks here going door to door trying to convince people to change their voter registration from Republican to Democrat. Wow. Do you suppose it's the last gasp of a failing political party to do that? I hope they don't have any luck to speak of. I went out back with the dogs a bit ago. The June bugs were going crazy, zipping around and running into things. The back porch light was on, which seemed to fuel their frantic antics. One hit me square in the cheek & pinged into my coffee cup! Poor thing was laying there on its back & kicking its feet, not quite submerged in lukewarm coffee. I flung it out, hoping it would live. Decided it was time for the pups & me to call it a night. Praying you sleep restfully tonight, Mel. Praying you get a good night's sleep too, Jeanette. See y'all tomorrow!

‘Morning ‘Having an Unrestful night ‘Came downstairs about 3 am
Temperature here at 3:40 is 76 degrees & Supposed to be really hot & humid this week.
Thankful Sunday was restful, overall. Church, short trip to a grocery store by church, lunch in, napped on our recliners while I had a timer set for chicken legs cooking in the oven, did a couple loads of laundry, watered a few plants, put chicken away & worked on KP together, then settled & watched the original “Top Gun” movie, from 1986. I also looked up the article from 1983, in California, that the movie was based on … long read that I started but haven’t finished yet, interesting though.
May you all have a blessed Monday & week ahead!
