Good morning, Mel. I hope that Rx gets your D levels up to a acceptable level.
The US RDA for D is fairly low & hasn't been updated over the years. Everything I've read in the past few years has also said Americans are terribly low on D. The latest article I read said most of us probably should be taking 7,000 IUs/day. I've been taking 3,000 IUs for years. I need to see what that converts to in mcg.

One UI = 0.025 MCG.
So 3000 UI would be 75 MCG.

It's pretty warm this morning but I'm hoping the humidity will drop & the wind will come up. That's what happened yesterday.
I'm sitting on the patio with the dogs. They're enjoying being outside. A big dog just walked by & they had to run the fence to bark at it.
Franny decided it's too hot out for that so she headed into the house. Leela's probably ready to go inside too.
The mud daubers are hard at work already this morning. We had a couple of them in the house yesterday but we each caught one in a Styrofoam cup & carried them back outside.

One UI = 0.025 MCG. So 3000 UI would be 75 MCG. Wow! That really is a heavy-duty amount you're taking. π Edited to add: I'm getting routine lab work late in July for a physical. I'd asked the doc about having my vitamin D level checked. "Why?" she asked, adding it's not routinely done & insurance typically doesn't cover it. I told her I'll pay for it if they don't. I'm sure now that I'm asking it be included!

That really is a heavy-duty amount you're taking. π Apparently my levels are low enough to be potentially life threatening under the right circumstances even though I feel fine for the most part other than the arm and being unusually tired recently. In any case, Dr seems to think that I'll recover from this Ok. It is a mystery thiough why my level got so low given the amount of fish and other good vitamin d foods that I eat.

Edward posted this on my facebook page this morning and I love it! Thought I'd share it here ... We've gotta pick up a U-Haul truck and get to work loading it on anything we want out of our shop & storeroom at 12th & C so I've got to get ready to go do that (i.e., quit stalling online ). Y'all have a great afternoon! Attachment DeletedβDrink water from the spring where horses drink. The horse will never drink bad water. Lay your bed where the cat sleeps. We filled up a 10' u-haul truck this afternoon, in just under 2 hours: a couple of blue water barrels; 2 stands that are 3'X4'X6'; a rooftop cargo carrier; a really nice cabinet that's now in our dining room ; an old-fashioned metal chair that rocks - something your grandmother would have had in her yard (I love those & this is a nice one); and several odds 'n ends, like a posthole digger and some shovels. Really happy that DS helped us with this project. We really had a good afternoon! I stopped to gas up the car while Sweetie went to turn in the u-haul and I discovered a whole bunch of texts -- Meanwhile the couple who is 3-1/2 months behind on their rent have been notified by 2 charitable organizations that yes, their past due rent is being caught up by each sending me a check for half; and the one organization is sending me a check for the couple's next 3 months' rent. In their wack-o minds, my pockets are flush with money & they think they should get some of it. The wife had been texting me, but I hadn't had my phone on me while we were working. They have a window AC unit that has just quit working and she has no $ to buy one, so do I have any extras that I could give her one, or could I give her $60 because she knows she can get one for that. And, oh, by the way, the gas line to their stove is leaking inside the house so they keep having to turn off the valve - oh, her husband said they actually need a whole new stove so I need to get them a stove. He does things like that when she call me too - yelling in the background that she has to tell me one more important thing (it never is). Her texts left me shaking my head. I know you don't know them. Trust me, there is probably nothing wrong with their stove or gas line. I haven't owned the AC units in their rental in years. I'm going to wait until tomorrow & then let them know what's going on ... ending with the fact that I don't anticipate spending any more money on that house (which the bank probably owns at this point - that's the story I haven't told her, because I don't have all the details myself, but I know enough to guess the bank is seizing my collateral on the 12th&C loan, which I'm defaulting on [believe me, that's not a bad thing & God Himself set it up, so I'm blessed and relieved-no need to feel sorry for me or think badly of me for not being able to pay a mortgage]). If they want to continue living there, I'll turn that 3-month rent check over to the bank when I get it, but that's all I'm doing for them. Otherwise, I'll send it back to the organization that provided it - it's the tenants' choice. ... If I had any regret over the bank taking that house 'right now' - having not filed to foreclose yet on the 12th & C mortgage - those tenants crushed it. Edward is so happy - he's walking around telling me the bank's doing the right thing, he's relieved too, and he's ready to get going on other things ... So ... I'm about to take a lukewarm shower & wash the grit out of my hair and off my face (water coming through the pipes is warmed from the heat outside). The wind is not blowing that hard, I think we just stirred up a lot of dust and old grit 'n grime in that storeroom, and in our little shop space, both at 12th & C this afternoon. I want to make some chocolate pudding from scratch too, before I call it a night, and let it chill overnight in the fridge. We're going to enjoy this Father's Day tomorrow - and 1st day of summer. Thanks for listening to my story. I love you guys!

Good morning! It's absolutely beautiful here this morning. There's a slight breeze, just enough to rustle the leaves on the pecan tree. Fran & Leela and I have been out here in the backyard since just after 7a.m. I cut down a scrub tree that had sent up several sturdy shoots. That missing "Step 1 ..." is definitely my recommendation for avoiding sharks. Think I'll head inside & put on a pot of coffee ... Edward wore himself out yesterday afternoon so I hope he spends today relaxing. I'm making one of his favorite meals for dinner so we're having a light breakfast. Hope you each & all have a wonderful Sunday!

Well, today was the day we decided we needed a new coffeemaker. The on/off switch only registers as being "on" when it's wiggled to a halfway point. I went to Dollar General & picked up a 12-cup coffeemaker, but the heating pad Edward wanted was out of stock. I ran on over to Wal-Mart and found a nicer heating pad (larger, more heat settings) so I bought it. While I was gone, DS stopped by & picked up his dad to hep him find the studs in a living room wall. DS & L are hanging a TV on the wall, with a cabinet underneath that has a small electric fireplace in the middle of it. It should be pretty cute once they're finished. I stopped by DS's and when they didn't need any more of dear ol' dad's help for now, I brought us home. Now that I've seen a weather forecast, I'm fixing dinner ... Hope you're all having a great day! edited to add: We didn't expect the coffeemaker to act up, but it is probably a decade old. We didn't expect the hot water heater to act up - it's only 7 years old. We're also watching the the microwave, which we're suspecting may have a problem as well. It seems to occasionally super heat a cup of coffee. I told Edward this afternoon that I'm just going to stop touching things!
