Good morning! It's already 47 degrees and the forecast says it will the high 60s today.
I have an appointment to take an old, collectible (I think) piece of jewelry to an acquaintance who works at a jewelry store here in town. She's going to evaluate it for me. She thinks it's a piece of Masonic jewelry but I think it was probably cast for some Oklahoma State event or something in the state government. I'd like to know the story behind it. I'll post a picture later. I'm excited about doing this.
Praying for all here this morning.

Had it in my head that tomorrow is the first day of spring. Yes, those dogs laying around in the floor - that looks like my house!

Knowing how 'goofy' one branch of my family tree is about this DNA business, this meme cracks me up. I may post it to my fb page as a random "have a nice day" wish, or something. Dogs give their people the "oh, hi - I messed up" guilty look too. We came home & found MooseWoman with a swinging trashcan lid around her neck more than once, and there was never anything in that trashcan but kleenex and an occasional q-tip. Success at the jeweler's this afternoon. I didn't find out much of anything on the Oklahoma collectible brooch, but I did sell a couple of rings for more than I thought they'd be worth. It's not a big check, but I'm a happy gal! Tree pollen is already high - and my sinuses are letting me know it! Think I'll take a nap!

Good morning ☀️
Good news re your trip to check out the items you had, Barb!
Mel, continuing to pray for you & your Mom ...
Yesterday, DH & I had signed up to help with a clean up of an unused building at church, for a couple hours in the am. It went well! About twenty people had signed up, but over forty people showed up to work! Thankful!
The building will be used for a Pack-A-Thon demonstration site, I think.
I was saying, to our Son-in-law #3 & DH, that it was good to know that even churches have stuff that just piles up in an unused area until another day. lol
Afterwards, we arrived home & ate some lunch while waiting for our Son-in-law #3 and 3 grands to pick us up. We rode with them for about two hours to see his firstborn son’s soccer game for state championship. Thankfully I packed some snacks & items to entertain the young ones, as needed. After the game we got to greet our grandson, who is now 16, (I think). We hadn’t seen him since Christmas Eve.
Thankfully there was restrooms available, while there, also!
We then rode another couple of hours home. After our son-in-law dropped us off, he drove another 30 mins or so to get to their house,
Interesting, both of us fixed spaghetti & meatballs! lol
DH & I watched an Avengers movie, as we hadn’t seen it.
Today’s the Pastor’s last day, as he retired. He’ll do some fill in with churches, while in retirement. Praying for him & his wife during this transition time.
Thankfully, over the past couple of years, the church has implemented Elders & becoming more like a church in Acts ... less where everything is depended upon one main pastor.

Good morning! It is a cool but pleasant mid 50s day here. At church this morning, Pastor Adam gave the second half of the sermon that he started last week on gender and sexuality and the proper Christian response to the LGBTQ+ culture.
I didn't feel like cooking for just myself last evening, so I picked up a pretzel crust pizza from Little Caesar's to try.
I'll probably have the rest of that for my lunch today.
It's not bad, but I doubt that I would get it again anytime soon.
I really like soft pretzels and I love pizza, but the combination just doesn't quite work for me.
I think that the coarse grains of salt on the pretzel part just makes the rest of the pizza a little too salty tasting.
I almost never add extra salt to my food when I cook with the exception of potatoes cooked certain ways.

I like soft pretzels too, but haven't been around any in a long time to order one. We have pizza about once a month. I had a gift card to Domino's so ordered a cheeseburger pizza. It had all of the typical toppings you'd find on a cheeseburger, plus a sauce that tasted like a mix of ketchup & mustard. That just makes me laugh. It was really tasty, but I probably wouldn't order another one. Domino's is higher priced than Pizza Hut, and we have a particular order we like to pick up from the Pizza Hut that's closer to us, and less expensive. Heh, I watch all the dollars & cents - Continuing to pray for your Mom and for you, Mel ...

Jeanette, what's a Pack-A-Thon? You made me chuckle, talking about your church building clean-up. Sweetie & I, and the boys when they were younger, have been involved in a few spring projects like that. One church we attended for several years had a strong men's group and a strong youth group. They'd do a breakfast and then cut trees, shrubs, and do a trash detail to pick up whatever the wind had blown in around the church & the cemetery out back. Edward took a bucket truck up to the church one year that we were there & taught a couple of the older teen boys how to operate the bucket part. They were thrilled. The other church, which we were also members of for several years, had all kinds of things squirreled away, up in the attic and in every closet space of the children's wing and in the fellowship hall. All that we-might-need-it-so-don't-get-rid-of-it mentality has to be a part of our human nature. It's almost 70 out this afternoon and I'm wearing work clothes - lol - so I'm heading out front to rake up the leaf & small limb debris I didn't get around to raking yesterday. I don't want to spend more than an hour - hour and a half on that project. I want to get on the other computer this evening & 1) watch Pastor Adam's sermon and 2) watch a couple of short videos people have sent me. Also hoping to get on Sweetie's computer up front and download photos from my cell phone. Just in case it quits on me. It's really an old model phone, and the battery doesn't hold a charge very well so it could quit working.

Good morning 😃
Mel ~ continued prayers ...
Barb ~ a “Pack-A-Thon” with Feed The Hungry, is when a space is set up & volunteers pack food for hungry people. There’s dried spices, powdered vitamins, beans & rice.
YouTube has an older video “what is a pack a thon”.

Good morning! It's 57 at the moment. It's supposed to hang around the low 60s most of the day, and rain.
I've put on a pot of coffee so sweetie can have a cup before he leaves. He has to report to the fairgrounds annex building, instead of the courthouse. That's a mile and a half at least from the courthouse, but plenty of room to social distance.

Good morning! It's raining, but not too hard - yet. That meme pegs it - Clyde was tall enough to snag a turkey leg off a platter on the dining room table after Thanksgiving dinner one year, as I was walking back and forth to put away leftovers. Apparently, since our entire City Council & Mayor posed for a photo op at the new city safety center dedication last week, they're going to modify the mask mandate to say, "if you're fully vaccinated, you don't have to mask." No, I don't know how anyone will police that - guess we're all gonna be on the honor system. Praying for your Mom and for you today, Mel. Later: Edward was juror #1, and they put him off the jury after he answered the first question, which was whether any of the 12 knew the Asst DA, the defendant, or the defendant's attorney. Yes, he's known the Asst DA's parents for years because they are fellow Realtors, and he'd met the Asst DA at least once, tho it's been a few years back. He was then asked if he thought he could be impartial? He said "no". When he came home he said the defendant is a bad guy & he's sure the goal was not to prove his innocence but to get the sentence dropped down as low as possible by trying to show what he'd done wasn't really 'quite as bad' as charged. Yes, he had me laughing. He even texted the Asst DA's mother & said, 'thanks! knowing you got me out of jury duty!'She texted back It's cold & raining but I'm determined to stay warm inside & get some work done this afternoon! I'm caught up on reading emails.

I was able to get in to see my Mom at the nursing home for a little while this afternoon.
At this point, she is far enough gone that I'm not entirely sure that she knew who I was, especially with all the anti-Covid protective gear that I am required to wear when I go in.
I'm told that she hasn't eaten anything since Thursday, and they haven't been able to get her to drink anything either since early Saturday.
