That would be sooo heart breaking, 16.8 sec flat & the voice comes over the radio, "Ops, we have a tree down ... please advise". edited to add: It really is pretty hard to believe we're 2 weeks away from Christmas Day. Wow!

Way back in 2002, Sharon and I were decorating the house for Christmas. It was our first Christmas since buying our own house and she was going all out to get the decorations just perfect. No sooner had we finished decorating the tree than our old cat Gloria came running into the room as hard as she could go and took a flying leap into the upper branches of the tree. The tree went down and ornaments went everywhere. As the tree was falling, Gloria leaped from the falling tree onto the table where Sharon had set up her Christmas village and scattered the model houses, figurines, etc. In all of our years together, I think that is the only time I ever heard Sharon curse.

Good morning! It is a chilly 33 degrees and very foggy here this morning, but this afternoon is forecast to get up to around 60 and be sunny. I understand Sharon cursing over that! What a mess - and an incredible disappointment. I'd have sat right down and cried. Amazingly though, nothing was actually broken just scattered around.
For a long time after that day, Gloria's nickname was "Catzilla".
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Franny & Leela are ready for spring - or, not ready for winter. They don't want to get up in the dark, but it's really only dark in the bedroom. Once they can see daylight they're okay with going out. They do come in and go right back to sleep however.
The sun is brilliant this morning, and it's a cold 36 degrees but feels like 29. It's supposed to reach 50 today, but if all goes as forecast, we may see 2" of snowfall tomorrow.
Email is acting up this morning. I can't open my GoDaddy email with Firefox. Got into it okay on Google.
Y'all have a great Saturday!

Effective today, our governor has now once again put a stop to all indoor dining at restaurants here in PA. To make matters worse, the owners were only given just over 24 hours notice of the new restrictions. And those restaurant workers who are now being thrown out of work again will not be eligible for unemployment for at least three weeks.
This image of governor wolf has been trending on social media today:

That's the nicest thing that can be said about the Governor of Pennsylvania. Did he set an end date for this shutdown? He's a rotten human being is what he is. How does he think those employees are going to survive from now until the end of the year?

Did he set an end date for this shutdown? The restrictions will be reevaluated on or after Jan 5.

... I'm praying for all of those people who will be hurt by this latest shutdown. Asking God to remove this person from any and all positions of authority for all time, unless he has a complete change of heart and personality.

Hi, all! Jeanette, did you happen to watch the UNC vs U Miami football game yesterday? We just watched this week's College Football Final review of that game. UNC's performance was a combination of art & science! They had some beautiful runs, & great plays to handily defeat U Miami. I watched the Army-Navy game & it was good. Army shut out Navy; largely due to a strong defense. Interesting thing was the amount of history discussed throughout the game. President Eisenhower was an Army football team player for one year. I've had many friends & associates over the past 4 decades who were West Pointers.

In case you didn't see today's Sunday comics, or your newspaper doesn't carry Sally Forth, I have to share this one. It provided a good laugh at our house, hehe ...

Good evening!
Hope you are all having a wonderful 3rd Sunday of Advent.
It was another chilly foggy morning here, but by this afternoon it was a beautiful warm and sunny low 60s day.
At church this morning, it was announced that even with the first night being cancelled due to the weather, last weekend's drive through Nativity program had approximately 2800 cars pass through on the remaining two nights.
As usual, I'm posting the video of our church's 8AM service. There was a brief problem with the sound system at the very beginning of the service, but it got corrected pretty quickly once someone ran to get another microphone.
Is it bad that I'm happy over the fact that our church is still "mask optional" even though the governor's mandates say that they are mandatory everywhere?
I made lasagna for lunch for Mom and me, and helped her get her laundry done.
We're just relaxing and having a lazy evening at home now. I may try to get my Christmas cards done later this evening so that I can get them in the mail tomorrow. I'm not planning to send as many this year as I have some years in the past.

Did you know that you can now get ancestry DNA test kits for your cats and dogs?

Jeanette, it sure looked like that was a really good football game. I hated to see the West Virginia U and Oklahoma U game canceled. It had already been postponed from 2 weeks ago; was to be played on the WVU field yesterday but was simply canceled. I'm gonna miss college football Saturdays! I'm really not much of a basketball fan. I didn't get much sleep last night. I was asleep minutes till midnight; Fran & a passing rainstorm woke me up at 2:15. To get her to settle down, I encouraged her and Leela to make a quick trip into the courtyard. They realized that was a puny rainshower so we were back in bed & asleep right after 2:45. Huge clap of thunder rocked us awake at 3:45, and I didn't get any sleep after that till 6 a.m. this morning. I woke up about 2 minutes till 9, so caught most of 1st Baptist Dallas at 9 a.m. I re-watched the entire sermon at 10:30. We had sleet and snow off & on till after 5 this evening, but no accumulation and no more thunderstorms. Didn't seem to accomplish too much today ... no energy, couldn't get going. I did fix a big pot of soup "crack chicken noodle soup" for dinner this evening. Oh, my goodness, it was so delicious! I'll post the recipe tomorrow. Here's the photo that went with the recipe:
My version doesn't look like this. Instead of chicken broth, I use unsalted vegetable broth in my soups, which includes mushrooms - so my soups typically look "muddy". And you know, my soup is made with a pack of turkey cutlets (no chicken). I skipped the bacon and added a 4 oz tin of hot diced jalapenos. Those jalapenos lend a slight smoky flavor, and make the soup pleasantly spicy. We have enough left that we can each have a mug full tomorrow evening to go along with our half a meatloaf that we're having for dinner. Edward has floor, so dinner will be easy to have ready for when he gets home. Good night, y'all! I'm off to bed...hoping for sound sleep all night!
