Our Governor has now ordered all schools in Pennsylvania closed for at least two weeks. Most of the school districts were doing so already anyway, but now it's official on the state level.

Those last 2 are my favorites, Mel! Happy to hear you were able to score some rice & beans, Scott! That would have been tough to do at the commissary or Wal-Mart here yesterday afternoon. We're thinking of 'nice to have' items we wish I'd picked up at the store on Thursday - like a jug of Dial gold liquid hand soap for refilling soap dispensers at home, and an extra box of Supersize (cheap store brand) zip-top plastic bags. I stopped at the Family Dollar by us this a.m. to see if they had liquid soap, but they don't carry it. They were out of all the typical stuff everybody else is out of too. My goal is to use what we have on-hand, and make due where we need to, till this nonsense settles down some. I went to the gym this morning and when I came home, no one met me at the door - ? Leela was lying up on the back of the sleeper sofa in the living room, & Franny was halfway between the sofa & Edward at the computer, just lying in the floor. Both had line of sight to the back door. I said, "boy, I see how much mommy rates these days!" They all need to lose a few pounds (4-7 would be good) so I've cut back on treats.

I'm feeling really disappointed and bummed out right now. Despite our church leadership's pledge earlier today to go ahead with Sunday services tomorrow, they decided this evening to cancel all services until further notice. One of the pastors will be live streaming his sermon tomorrow morning on the church's web site. There have still been no reported cases of the virus in our area.

Good morning!
It looks like it is going to be a cool and cloudy day here.

Good morning, Scott, Mel, and Jeanette.
Chilly & wet morning, but not raining at present.
We had a good time cooking yesterday. I cooked up a pot of blackeyed peas & green beans with some added veggies. I found a low carb cornbread recipe. Y'know, Edward is allergic to corn, so cornbread has been out for awhile. But, this recipe is super simple & doesn't even have any corn in it. I'll post it later today.

Cornbread! That's a good idea. I haven't made a batch of skillet cornbread for quite awhile.
