Good morning, Mel! Good morning, Jeanette! It's a bright & sunny 73 at 8 a.m. here. Heading for a high of 99 this afternoon. There's a huge swath of dry air above us so no threat of humidity today. Milo slept till almost 7:30 this morning, so I got to sleep that late too. Yay! After dragging dog blankets outside yesterday morning, he dragged a 25' water hose in from the backyard and chewed it into 9 pieces in the laundry room yesterday afternoon. Somehow he managed to shut himself in the laundry room. Edward found him sitting there quietly waiting for someone to open the door to let him back into the den, when he came home from floor duty. Milo's starting to stay down when we come in the front door so he's learning. Leela & Milo are hanging together a lot. If one moves, the other follows. Leela was jumping frogs out of the grass in the shallow end of the old pool last night. Milo joined her and had a blast chasing frogs from one side of the pool to the other. The ground is totally dried out so the frogs were stretching out when they leaped and they made good time. The littlest frog was really fast. Milo kept losing sight of it. I'm surprised there are any frogs still in that pool, they usually move on to a nearby cattle pond when our pool dries up. Those dogs were pretty cute to watch. The frogs weren't in much danger from them. Every day this week has felt like it was Friday. I'm looking forward to the July 4th weekend, as hard to believe as it is that we're halfway through this year! Hope you each and all have a great day!

I'm just gonna leave this here ... Attachment DeletedIf we were still having to wear these all over the place, I'd wear one. We're only having to mask at the hospital and in labs & medical offices.

I had a Dr appointment this morning. It seems that my blood sugar is still running higher than it should even with the increased medicine I have been taking the last few weeks, so now I am going to have to start taking insulin injections too.

We're only having to mask at the hospital and in labs & medical offices. Same here, but I figure that with the election only just over 5 months away, we should be seeing another round of major Scamdemic scare mongering any day now.

My cousin's little girl got a new kitten today. The kitten is almost entirely black, but she insisted on naming him snowball.

My cousin's little girl got a new kitten today. The kitten is almost entirely black, but she insisted on naming him snowball. That kind of creativity is what I love about kids. Your word "scandemic" is perfect! I hadn't seen or heard that before. There's been some attempts at scaring the locals around here, but I don't see folks paying attention. We'll have to wait & see how things go.

We'll have to wait & see how things go. I just saw a story this afternoon on the local news about how the Omicron B5 varient may bring the deadliest Covid wave yet this Summer and Fall and the current vaccines may not offer any protection at all. Sure sounds to me like the powers that be are angling for an excuse to lock things down again so that they can push the mail in cheating (I mean voting) again. Not that I really want any of the candidates that are running here in PA for Governor and our US Senate seat. There don't seem to be any good choices, but some are worse than others.

Good morning, Mel! Good morning, Jeanette! We're in for a hot, sunny day here. Predicted to reach 100 by 4 p.m. We didn't make 100 yesterday, the thermometer stalled out at 99. It's pretty dry, so not too uncomfortable out there. Mel, have you looked into adding supplements to help with your blood sugar? Cinnamon - the good kind from Ceylon (now Sri Lanka, I think, but the cinnamon is still labeled Ceylon). It's good at bringing down blood sugar levels. Dr. Deb's worth of advice, but based on personal experience. You're looking great in your new headshot, btw. That black kitten looks like a snowball that was rolled up in a coal field. We played in some of those coal dumps when I was a little girl, when I was visiting cousins unsupervised (things like that left my poor mother horrified ). I hope your day is great, and mine is too! See y'all later!

It has been a productive day here.
My mother's estate is finally closed. The Last bit of needed business was taken care of this morning.
Later this morning, Sharon's youngest sister took me to run some errands at the drug store and the bank, and then we had lunch together at one of the small local family owned restaurants.
When we were running my errands, I was just using the walker. This is the first time since getting my new leg that I did not take the wheelchair along but left it at home. It went really well although I was rather tired by the time we got back home.
I'm home now and relaxing for a little while.
So far the day has been really hot and humid, and storms are likely for this evening.

Today was DH’s last official day at work, although he will be consulting! May you all have a great day & Fourth of July weekend! 🇺🇸 Grouphug Congratulations to your DH, Jeanette! That's fantastic! When we were running my errands, I was just using the walker. This is the first time since getting my new leg that I did not take the wheelchair along but left it at home. It went really well although I was rather tired by the time we got back home. I'm home now and relaxing for a little while. That's great, Mel! You make me think of an eagle learning to fly. It was scorching hot after 2 p.m. today. Right when I was out in it for a couple of hours. I had a good time - gassed up the Tahoe (Sam's Club was selling gas for $4/gal, and the lines went every which direction with people pushing in. Filled up for under $100. (That's a terrible price, but still better than paying $4.38/gal, which I did recently, and did not get a full tank.) I worked with tenants & maintenance men all afternoon. Did not get to the bank nor commissary. I'm going to shop & run errands in the morning. Heading to bed now so I can get up at a reasonable hour. July is my favorite month of the year. Someone a little south of us was setting off some good sized fireworks this evening. The dogs & I went outside watched. I oohed and aahed and they didn't act too afraid, for a change. I was proud of them. Attachment Deleted
