Good morning! It's hot & sunny this morning, on the way to 99 this afternoon. Milo has earned a nickname - jello dog. He'll stand up on me if I'm sitting in the living room - front feet on my thighs and hind feet on the floor. I'll tell him to get down. What does he do? He slides down so his belly is on my lap, his chin is propped against my chest - and he's giving those big pale eyes like, "Do I really have to?", and his front legs are hanging down along my legs. He's basically melted! Hope you each and all have a great Saturday!

"...Pursuit of Barbecue." That's a really appropriate description of large parts of this country! DS does a lot of cooking out; us, not so much. We're having brisket that I'm roasting in the oven on Monday. I'm finally about to head out to the grocery store, with a stop at Wal-Mart for specific items I get there (avocados, nacho chips, & jumbo eggs - if they have any). I'm also looking for bungee cords, which we seem to have finally run out of. And I may stop at Ollie's to see if they have any quality t-shirts I like. I've nearly worn my tees to a scrap. So many tees I see these days have an 'odd' feel to them, and I suspect they're made at least in part from recycled plastic.

I am seriously thinking about getting this one, but I'm not sure if I want to spend $20 plus shipping for it:

‘Morning ~ Temp here is 71 degrees at 7:15 & May have thunderstorms off & on all week ~
DH started building a fire pit yesterday We watched some YouTube videos on computer. A co-worker gave him a lot of pavers that he didn’t want or need. DH & DS went to the Tractor Supply store & Dh picked up a galvanized insert for the fire pit. He went to the local home improvement for sand & rocks, but a storm rolled in as he was headed home, so that put a stop to the project.
I had a rough night, physically. Usually does get worse once there’s a change of weather, storms etc.
‘Hope to finish a Shutterfly album today & tomorrow, as they have a sale for extra pages. lol

Good morning! It looks like it is going to be a Sunny, hot, and humid day here. I didn't sleep very well last night. Someone in the area was evidently getting an early start on their July 4th celebration by setting off fire crackers until the wee hours of the morning.

Good morning! At 11 a.m., it's 90 degree and feels like 97. The humidity is up and the dew point is 70 so it's muggy out there, but we do have a little wind. This morning's sermon was on the topic of proving that America was founded as a Christian nation with the point driven home that our success as a nation depends on our fidelity to God's principles as expressed in His Word. There were some great quotes by past presidents, all the way back to Washington, and reference to historical supreme court cases. That fire pit sounds great, Jeanette! Hope you don't have any severe storms today. People seem to be taking the ordinance against fireworks inside city limits more seriously this year than in the past. There haven't been many shot off in our area so far. I'm expecting more tonight & maybe a lot tomorrow. For one thing, there are no fireworks stands in town these days (years back, they were on every corner & empty lot), so people have to travel a little to pick up any. It's gonna be a day of housework - working on things I didn't get done yesterday. I also have to call a man about whether he'd like to see some empty apartments this weekend. I don't expect to drive around showing them, but I will meet him at the office & sign out keys, if he's interested.

Not that it really matters in any way, but I have determined that refrigerator magnets will in fact stick to certain parts of my prosthetic leg. (Yes, when I get bored my mind goes in strange directions!)

Poor dogs & cats. I really do feel sorry for them. We had a nice, quick & easy, dinner this evening. I came home from the commissary m-a-d mad. Edward was a good guy & let me vent. I'd run into a woman who owes me $1600, and - par for the course - she gave me a sob story of how her mother had some crisis & she had to help her. She said she'll pay me $400 by the end the week. Uh-huh. I hope so. Then she started giving me a sob story about her husband not being able to work. But he is getting his social security. She poohpoohed social security, saying it's really not worth anything - it's only $666 per month. I nearly shrieked at her that it's $666 she wouldn't have if he wasn't getting it! I should have shrieked "then use that money to pay me, since it's so worthless to you!" I came home hungry but not in the mood to cook. Edward whipped up a couple of Angus burgers with fried onions & we had some potato salad to go with them. I got into a better mood, once I ate. I still have some canned goods to put away, and a couple beautiful packages of beef stew meat. I'd better get to it. I have thanked God for how good my life is, and expressed my appreciation to God for His blessings. I'll be praying for guidance on how to handle that matter of money.

Good morning! It is a chilly 56 degrees here this morning, but it is expected to get up to around 90 by this afternoon. We had another noisey night of fire crackers here last night. When I did finally get to sleep, I had some really strange dreams. In one I was working at an animal shelter, but instead of dogs and cats we were trying to get people to adopt Lions. Hope you all have a great 4th of July!
