Good morning! 35 degrees here at 7 a.m. but supposed to warm into the 60s. We'll see.
I'm heading out to pick up a few groceries and renew a car tag.
Praying for all of us and our family and friends today. Thankful to know Jesus Christ will return.

Got a lot done today ... Tomorrow will mark the end of Twice-a-Week trash pick up in this burg. We made sure we had a full trash cart to set out at the curb, as a mark of celebration. Starting next week, our part of town will have pick up on Fridays. That probably won't bother us too much - it's rare that we have a lot of trash to put out. What we are really lacking is a recycling effort. Maybe someday. One of our Realtors, a top producer, is reportedly now in ICU at the County Hospital, suffering from COVID-19. Please pray that he will make a full recovery. He's in his late 60s; a retired Army NCO. He is married & his wife is a retired nurse. They have 3 children, grown & out on their own, plus a couple of grandchildren. I don't know how bad off he is. The office manager emailed everyone at 2:30 this afternoon to let us know he was now in ICU; she added "and not doing well." He was still posting away on facebook at that time & for a few hours later, so I really don't know how he's doing. He's quite a character (arrogant, a dramaqueen, does a lot of humble bragging), but he's a likable guy in spite of himself. He is a Christian, so at least he's saved if he doesn't pull through. I'm heading to bed - I'm really sleepy and hope I sleep well tonight. I love y'all!

Good morning! It was 37 at 8, and it's warmed up a little since then. Supposed to be a sunny, dry day, with a high of 69. Spring allergies have my head stopped up and my ears tickling. I'll be taking something for that in a little bit, which should help a lot. I want to rake under the upside-down trees in the front yard. They've budded out and will be leafy in a few short days. There's some winter limb drop and old leaves under their canopies that needs cleaned up. I had a friend request from some guy on facebook yesterday. He says he lives in a small city south of Oklahoma City; he's widowed; & has no friends listed on facebook. His only posts so far have been a half-dozen dog memes. When I get friend requests from guys who I don't know & have no friends in common with, I simply delete the request. Well, I saved 2 of those cute dog memes first, and then I hit the Delete button.

Besides finding that article interesting, I just have to ask you - "Can you stand one more Ever Given meme?" Edward found this meme about the time I was reading the article, so I had to save both to my "Current Events" newsfile. View Attachment

It is still really cold and windy here this afternoon. We even had some frozen precipitation that I'm not sure if it was larger than normal sleet, really small hail, or a mixture of both. Tonight is forecast to get down to about 20 with a wind chill in the single digits, but then the next several days are expected to be back up into the upper 60s and low 70s. Weather permitting, I hope to go to church this evening for our Good Friday Communion service, since we couldn't have it last year due to the Covid lock downs.

Stay safe, if you go out on the roads, Mel. But I hope you get to go. I cleaned up part of the small limbs in the front yard - they're the size of my little finger, pretty much, ranging from 6" to about 18" in length. That cottonwood tree sheds every time we have winds. The neighbor lady across the street came over to pick up her mail & we stood & talked awhile. I'll clean up the other half of the yard maybe this weekend - or a slightly warmer day. The wind has kept it cool all day, in spite of the warm sun.

Have you seen this Easter version of Hallelujah, performed by Cassandra Star and her sister Callahan? It tears me up - it is so beautifully done. I don't know how to attach a youtube video, but this is the link. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-j3NZEdHQaIAnd then, gym trainer Donna sent me this beautiful Lion of Judah, Revelation 5:5, and I've walked around the house singing Donnie McClurkin's "Hail, Hail, Lion of Judah!" for the past couple of hours.

When you get time, please teach me how to attach a YouTube video. First, you need to be on the full reply screen not just the quick reply box at the bottom of the thread:
On the reply screen you need to click the icon that looks like an old time movie director's clap board:
That brings up a box where you can enter the Youtube Video's web URL:

It is still really cold here this evening, but the weather cleared up enough for me to make it to the Good Friday service.
Like the last few times that we had communion, they used the individual prepackaged wafer and juice packs.
Even if I fully bought into the whole Covid safety narrative, I'm not sure that the prepacked communion kits would really accomplish anything anyway given that the individual packs are still handled by both the person giving them out and the recipient who must handle the outside of the pack in order to open it immediately before touching the waver to eat it.
I really hope that we can soon get back to the regular way of doing things.
