Good morning,
“Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto Thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the Rock that is higher than I. For Thou hast been a Shelter for me, and a Strong Tower from the enemy. I will abide in Thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of Thy wings. Selah. For Thou, O God, hast heard my vows: Thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear Thy Name.” ~ Psalm 61:1-5 (KJV)
Amen

It was barely above freezing this morning, and it is chilly outside Lots of bright sunshine and still breezy, tho' the wind isn't roaring like yesterday. I turned the heat back up in the house last night because it had been chilly in here all evening. Leela slept glued to my ribcage all night anyway - & I think she went back to bed this morning to warm up after being outside. That's a really powerful prayer in Psalm 61, Jeanette! I've read that Psalm but not looked at it that way. Are y'all getting these storms that hit across the south yesterday? I read a headline this morning that said over 24 tornadoes had touched down. I missed the national weather map this morning so I'm not sure where that storm system is today. Those dogs at the table are pretty funny, Mel. Fran eats about 500 cal/meal - so her dog dish is almost 2X as full as Leela's. Leela eats just under 300 cal/meal. And she eats too fast. She gobbles her meal down and comes to find me to see if I have a spoon from the dog food can that she could lick - y'know, she's always happy to help with the dishes! Fran, meanwhile, is in the living room slowly eating up her food. Fran will lick up the last hint of flavor from her dish before she walks off. Than Leela will run over and lick Fran's dish again. They're quite a pair.

"Cats want to drive" I needed a good laugh today. Mom isn't doing well at all. When I spoke to the Dr this morning, she basically said that I should prepare myself because Mom is probably coming down to the end.

Y'know how sometimes there's something going on and you just have to tell somebody? Well ... here's the latest crazy thing in this town/my circle. RANT follows: Today is our Military Order of the World Wars Chapter's March luncheon. These luncheons are held in the Prairie Building, a nice-sized annex to the Great Plains Coliseum, which is part of the County Fairgrounds. County Commissioners have control of the Coliseum & grounds. Our speaker at today's luncheon is scheduled to be the Mayor of Lawton, Stan Booker. He is supposed to speak on the city and where it's going in the future. I'm NOT a fan of Stan's, in fact I'm a member of the patriot group, which is working on recalling the man, among other things. I haven't seen my fellow companions in MOWW for right at a year, because we shut down meetings with the shutdown of everything else last March. I wanted to visit with my buddies in the group and hear what the mayor had to say. (knowing the 'enemy's plans' is always beneficial) The mayor pushed for a mask mandate on the city - twice!, and pushed the council members with a lot of fear-mongering, & the council passed the mask mandate basically permanently the 2nd time. After a week or more of talks, the County Commissioners decided to include all county buildings (99% are inside Lawton limits) in the mask mandate. The governor of our state has dropped all restrictions in past few days. He'd never implemented a mask mandate, but said he would not interfere with communities that decided that was best. Some of us (the patriots, at least) are dogging the mayor to end the mask mandate. His pat answer is that he didn't implement the mask mandate, the city council did that so we should discuss that with our ward council member. Liar, liar! Total hypocrite! Council persons are not returning people's calls & text messages. The more I thought about attending that luncheon today, the more aggravated I became. Rules on meeting room use at the Prairie Bldg: no more than 4 people to a table; the caterers have to bring your lunch to you - so you sit at your table like hostages, wearing masks until everyone is served, all the opening remarks are made, and then you can take them off to eat. ... and then, that rotten guy is going to stand up in front of us & speak after we eat. I decided it might tax my abilities to be polite & civil & "politically correct" past the breaking point so I declined to attend when my alphabetical call person contacted me a few days ago. I didn't give him a reason, and he didn't ask. Oh, by the way, the mayor's elderly mother is married to one of our MOWW members and she might attend the luncheon, you never know. I like her husband, but she's an obnoxious, domineering character. I really can't say much of anything around the group about my political opinions! Ha! Staying away made the most sense. Our group doesn't meet in the summer, so I hope we have a meeting I can attend in the next couple months. I'm the 2nd youngest member of the group, so the more I don't see these guys, the fewer of them there may be to see. Attachment Deleted /RANT

Thank you all that I can come here & rant. I really would have liked to have put that last rant on our patriots' page on FB, but I couldn't risk doing that because nothing stays quiet in this town, tho' that's a private group & the admins work hard to police the trolls. They have a tough job. __________________________ Sweetie & I went out this afternoon in the chilly sunshine to run errands (bank, post office, pick up a few groceries), and enjoy an early dinner at Golden Corral. We had part of a gift card left so used that up, & he paid the rest of dinner. We ate light - they have great salad fixin's. It is nice that it's still daylight outside, and it's almost 8 p.m. Later: Okay, it's midnight. I'm going to bed, really. Something I ate has upset my stomach. I took a Tums & drank a bottle of water, but I'm still tasting 'it', whatever it was, and I'm afraid to lie down because I may get hit with acid reflux. Going to take a couple of Tums, refill my water bottle, and go to bed ... hopeful 2 more Tums will do the trick. I've been reading great articles posted in 3-17-2021's End-Time Topics thread. Lots of good stuff there! 'Nite, y'all ... May the Lord bless and keep us through the night.

Good morning! It was in the mid-30s a couple hours ago, but it's just broke into the low 40s. It might reach 60 this afternoon. I didn't sleep well last night - had a lot of weird dreams & the dogs got me up before daybreak to go potty. It took them awhile to settle down when we came back in, & took me awhile to go back to sleep too.

Arrangements are being made for mom to be moved into hospice for end of life care. Medical treatment is being stopped except for pain relief.

I'm so sorry Mel. It's a tough point to be at in life, for her and for you. Is she coherent, or is the morphine keeping her sedated? Does she have family in the area that you're close to?

Is she coherent, or is the morphine keeping her sedated? Does she have family in the area that you're close to? She is pretty much drugged out of her mind right now due to the amount of pain she was in.
And no, not really any close family on her side. Just a few cousins that I haven't seen in years.
Mom came from a big family originally, but she is the last one left. All of her siblings passed on years ago.

Well, I wish Jeanette and I could be there to help you out . . . or at least be under your feet and 'think' we were helping you out. Attachment Deleted I hope you're going to get to see your Mom, once she's set up in hospice.

Mel,
I pray that your Mom is made as comfortable as possible and that you are able to be with her as she makes her journey home to be with Jesus, your Dad, Sharon, as well as others who have gone before her.
Agree with Barb re our hearts desire to be there for you, and although we’re not physically, you & your Mama are covered in prayer...
YSIC, Jeanette
