It is a few days early, but I thought that I would go ahead and get the Christmas/Winter edition of our chat thread started.

Barb, After you posted that picture of the Hanukkah coins the other day, I got to thinking that I haven't had chocolate coins like that since I was a kid.
So this morning when I went to the grocery store for Mom, I looked at the Hanukkah clearance stuff in the kosher foods section to see if they had any of those coins left and they did. So I bought a few bags of them.

Chilly this a.m. but dry & partly sunny/cloudy. Should be a pretty day.
I'm going to try out a recipe for baked potato latkes come late afternoon. We'll have some roasted turkey breast and green salad to go with them.
Late afternoon & evening yesterday was great! DS came by after work and hung out till about 7. And then my best friend and I got on the phone for about an hour and a half. Oh, the laughs and stories. Time spent with those two are great Christmas gifts in themselves.

It is a few days early, but I thought that I would go ahead and get the Christmas/Winter edition of our chat thread started. I think the new thread is great! A warm, inviting place to hang out against the cold winter winds! Our weather should be pretty pleasant for the next week, but a little on the chilly side. We're hoping for a clear sky on Monday night so we can go out & look at the "Christmas Star".
edited to add: I've been reading through the last chat thread. Some good times to savor & good memes to save. I've read the first dozen pages. Gotta get some work done now.

Merry Christmas from the Vets' office. I thought this was cute. later: we decided we were hungry, and Sonic has a new queso burger, so I ran down there (couple miles) and picked up 2 of them. They were pretty tasty.

Luv those cats! The baked latkes were delicious! I used 3 cups of frozen shredded potatoes (we use those for making hashbrowns); a 1/2 cup of chopped onions; a couple of large eggs, & some seasonings; and a couple tablespoons of coconut & almond flour mixed. That was easy to mix up and baked up quick too. We are definitely going to make this version again. I'm tired so heading off to bed. It's cooled off a lot outside; I know because it's cooled down enough in the house for the furnace to come on. See y'all tomorrow.

Hi, All! Happy Saturday. It's 51 & sunny, but breezy so there's a bitter chill, even if standing in the sun. I've been outside with the dogs a couple of times, but I haven't stayed out there very long. I'm about half watching the Okla University vs Iowa State University Big 12 Championship game. OU Sooners are looking pretty good! We're still talking about those baked latkes from last night. Ours weren't nearly as thick, or even neat & pretty! , as what you seen on that plate below, but boy did they taste good! We are having chili for dinner today. Hope you each and yours are doing well today.

All 3 of those memes are great, Mel. This one ^^^ made me laugh out loud! Our dogs probably believe the same thing that sheltie in the 1st meme believes - that we love them so much, we quit our jobs to stay home with them!

Whoo hoo! Army beat Air Force today, 10-7, and won the Commander-in-Chief Trophy as a result! I'm so happy for them! The chili turned out delicious - it amazes me how much more the zucchini makes it more flavorful. I know, that's probably one of my quirks. Later: Leela was happy this afternoon. She started asking me to come lie down around 3 o'clock - she wanted to nap but wanted company. I told her no, I'm not a big napper. Edward wandered into the office & said he thought he'd lie down for a short nap. I told him to be sure & let Leela know! She scooted right in the bedroom & hopped up on the bed. She was out cold for an hour. I don't have a smooth flowing routine yet for feeding these hounds dinner. They're calm & quiet while I get their breakfasts ready, but they're ready to eat any time after 4 p.m. so they're mobbing me. I don't want to feed them till at least 6. I have to work on my routine, even if it means sending them outside while I get all 3 dishes ready. They don't eat exactly the same because their calorie counts are different, which complicates matters. Our washer is acting up ... we're going to baby it through the week coming up (we hope), and call a repairman after Christmas. We'll see if it's worth fixing. Edward thinks it's the clutch; I thought it sounded like it was trying to throw a bearing. We've had that frontloader since we bought the house in March 2002. Do you think we've probably gotten our money's worth out of it? I'm tired - ready for football to go off so I can watch the local news & go.to.bed. Think I'll make some bay leaf tea while I'm waiting. See y'all tomorrow, if we don't meet in the air tonight.

Good morning ☀️ may you have a blessed 4th Sunday of advent today! ❤️
"And there it was - the star they had seen at its rising. It led them until it came & stopped above the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overwhelmed with joy." ~ Matt. 2:9b-10 (CSB)
May we meet Jesus in the quiet moments & in the noises of this week. May we know that because He lives we can face today and tomorrow.
