Good afternoon! We've made it to a breezy 68 this afternoon. Fortunately, no severe storms here last night. Prayers for your Mom, Mel. I can see it being sad that she's not home with her house & memories especially since it's your parents' anniversary date. Hope she gets to come home soon. How's everything with you & your family, Jeanette? Well, I hope. The time change hasn't bothered me today, even with not sleeping well. I was up at 8:30, which was the old 7:30. That worked fine. I'll just have to make sure I go to bed a little early tonight.

It's cooled off considerably this evening. I tried my hand at putting together an e-card to email my bff whose birthday is on Tuesday. It turned out pretty cute - a red barn that animals come out of & sing a little ditty, then wish a Happy Birthday with a bunch of balloons. I think she'll get a kick out of it. Okay - heading to bed and I'm hoping for a good night's sleep! Wishing the same for all of you!

Happy Monday! That is chilly, Mel. It was 45 here at 9 a.m. so not bad. High 60s are predicted, but I'm not sure that will happen. Y'all have a great start to the week! We're having meat loaf for dinner, and maybe we'll have Caesar salads to go with that. I like that salad meme, Mel.

It seems that my Mom took a major turn for the worse during the night last night. She is in a lot of pain and having great difficulty breathing. At this point, her condition is serious enough that the nursing home administrator at the Doctor's insistence approved my going in to visit with her in person this morning even though they are still on lockdown.
Mom was happy to see me, but I was only allowed to stay for one hour. And I don't think that I have ever had to wear so many layers of different kinds of protective gear. I actually needed help to get in and out of all that stuff.

Oh, Mel ... I'm sorry to hear you Mother has taken a turn for the worse. Praying for her peace, & that they can get her pain reduced. I'm glad you were able to spend even an hour with her.

Good afternoon ... The "Spring Forward" portion of that time change has finally caught up to Sweetie & me. We felt pretty worn out this morning. We've mostly snapped out of it - we're thinking we'll sit down & have lunch and be much brighter this afternoon.
The neighborhood storm siren has been going off for several minutes. Surely must be malfunctioning.

The mailman brought me an ad packet from Blue Cross-Blue Shield all about "Easing into Medicare". I've been 64 for exactly 1 week. Later: We had that Caesar salad, that we were going to mix up last night, as a part of tonight's dinner. It was delicious ... good dark greens, diced red bell pepper & yellow onion, a chopped hard-boiled egg each, a finely sliced half of an avocado each, and - of course - Caesar salad dressing. I also finally mixed up & baked that meatloaf I've been promising Edward. It was really good too. St Patrick's Day has sneaked up on me so I don't have a good Irish dinner planned for tomorrow. We'll probably have some canned corned beef, and mashed potatoes. I don't have any cabbage on-hand. We have severe storms supposed to move through some part of SW Okla overnight. We have a new, young meteorologist who carries herself well on-camera, and knows about weather. However, she doesn't know this area so mispronounces small town names, mixes up county locations, and talks fast (probably hoping not to be fact-checked on her errors). I'd give her no more than a solid C on tonight's storms discussion. Praying it all misses us, and the dogs sleep well tonight. I gave them each a 'calming' chew. Those chews seem to help, at least a little. See you all tomorrow ... Praying for God's protection and peace tonight for all here and our family & friends.

My mom's pneumonia does not seem to be responding to the antibiotics that they have been giving her so the Dr is changing her to a different one. They have also started giving her morphine for her pain. The only thing that they have been able to get her to eat in the last 48 hours is a little bit of apple sauce.
I did get to talk with her on the phone for a few minutes this morning, but she didn't feel up to talking for long.

I am not sure whether to be darkly amused or just plain disgusted by the number of my online "friends" who are already grumbling about how the government needs to get busy passing the next round of stimulus checks because they already had this last round spent before it even hit their accounts. And I'm not talking about people who are genuinely hard up and could really use the extra cash for help with rent or necessities. I mean the ones who are on Facebook showing off their new smart TVs, $1000 gaming systems, and things like that that they got with their stimulus money but they still cant pay their rent, bills, etc because the check wasn't big enough.

Good morning! The storms missed us last night - yay! Don't know if it rained or not - the grass is pretty wet. Our backyard is needing mowed. Happy St Patrick's Day to All Y'All!
I saw a good saying this morning: On St Patrick's Day, we're all a little bit Irish ... Except Italians, we're always Italian! I grew up in NE Ohio - there were lots of Italian people and the ones I knew would agree with that saying.
