That melting fan is a hoot! We have a heat advisory in effect from 1 p.m. today through 7 p.m. on Saturday. Praying everyone around here - all of those street people, plus everyone who's at home - has a way to stay cool. Praying our AC holds up at our house and for our tenants. edited to add: Those lying tenants who scammed Catholic Charities for rent money a couple of months ago when they actually had received their monthly disability checks are now telling me the wife is in the hospital because she's so sick with MRSA. When I didn't ooh-aah and feel sorry for her, she said they were moving her to ICU right then. Hmmm, wonder if that's true? If I'd had time, I'd have driven over past their house & knocked on the door. I have to get out in the morning and photograph my rental properties that have renewing insurance policies so I'll be at their door. *wink* (I have an appt with my accountant next week - gotta get on with taking care of business so I can sell those rentals. )

Dinner tonight was delicious. I baked a pan of Turkey Cutlets, Artichokes and Mushrooms. It's a really elegant dish that is flavorful and low-carb. To go along with it, I heated up a can of cut green beans and a frozen container of faux mashed potatoes (i.e., mashed cauliflower). That all went together nicely. Sweetie has boiled up 4 hard boiled eggs for tomorrow's breakfast. I'll turn my 2 eggs into egg salad and put them on a carb balanced tortilla with power greens. I think I'll surprise Edward and fry up the last 4 slices of bacon in the package that's open and we can each have 2. He'll chop his eggs and eat them along with toast & jelly. We both have a full day tomorrow so we're planning ahead. Honestly, we don't do that if we don't have to.

Good morning! Another hot day underway here. This Curtis comic strip cracked me up. I told Edward if he worked for the DMV, all of his buddies would be kidding him about this today. Hope everyone has a great Friday! I'm off to run errands & take photos before it reaches 100 (I hope *wink*).

At 11 am, it was 88 and felt like 97. I left home after 12:30 & it was drizzling rain. Depending on where you were, the rain was light, moderate, and/or briefly heavy till almost 3 p.m. The nice thing was the temperature dropped and there was a cool breeze. It didn't last. The rain moved on, the clouds blew out of the area, and the sun began broiling everything around. It's worse than a steam room out there right now. That melting cat is cute, Mel. I have one somewhere that shows a hound dog 'melting' into a puddle on the floor because of the heat. I doubt ours have been outside more than a quick minute ever since the rain stopped. I grocery shopped - mostly for staples to restock. Didn't buy but 3 paper bags full at the commissary, plus a quick stop for stick butter at Braum's and a jar of honey at Atwoods Farm & Ranch store. Shelves were somewhat stocked, and stockers were working as fast as they could go, to fill them. Wondering when it will evvverr be back to fully functioning.

Just dropping by to say "our dogs are spooked" and we don't know why. Their behavior - each of the 3 of them - has been so uncharacteristic since about 10:15 this evening. I gave Edward a hug, told him I love him, and if the world ends tonight, well, we can't say the dogs didn't warn us! He laughed, and agreed with me. There have been no sirens, no thunder, no coyotes howling ... I have no idea what's scaring them. Edward has scratched their ears, asked them what's wrong, patted their sides, and they like that but they're not responding much. I've already warned Edward, if anything weird wakes me up tonight, I'm immediately waking him! I typically get up and wander around the house, looking out doors & windows, and never give a thought to waking him up. He said okay, could be a good idea. Hope to sleep well and see y'all tomorrow!

Good morning! At 7 AM it is already very warm with 96% humidity here this morning.
It is expected to get really hot by this afternoon with thunder storms likely.
I need to go to the grocery store and run a couple of other quick errands for my parents this morning.
After that, I plan to stay home and enjoy the air conditioning for the rest of the day while getting caught up on the laundry.
Praying for all needs today.

Good morning. Y'all be careful out there in the world today. Between the heat, the storms, the virus, and any other crazy thing that might be going on where you live. My lawn mowing guys are hoping to work today. I gave the leader of that group a motherly pitch of "well you be careful out there in that heat!". He chuckled and answered, "yes, ma'am." It's definitely sweltering here this morning. Yesterday, at 7 a.m., there was a cool breeze blowing. This morning, it was shocking to open the backdoor & feel like I was smothering. The afternoon high is supposed to be 107. We are under a heat advisory until 9 p.m. I'll be working inside all day. Hope to not leave the driveway. Edward has to show a house at 2. Outside of weird sci-fi style dreams, I actually slept pretty well last night. I had to lure Leela to bed with a ginger snap, but once she was in her spot, she zonked out. Franny was her old self when I woke up around 1:30. She was in her spot between the bed & wall - wagged her tail to let me know she was there & doing okay. I scratched her chin and went back to bed. I've been bombarded on FB messenger this morning by relatives back east who want to know if the people who live on what the SCOTUS has just given back to the Indians will have to move elsewhere, and 'do many people live in that area'? Heh, I don't know how all of that will play out, but I'm pretty sure giving up homesteads & businesses is not going to happen. Tulsa is included & it's Oklahoma's 2nd largest city so yes, that' whole area is highly developed. I'm about to shut off my phone for the day! I've got to escape from my negative 'friend' in Virginia who insists on stewing over anything and everything at mega-world levels. She's taken all the time today that I'm willing to give her. I'm gonna give her the "'bye, Felicial!" response one of these days. See y'all later! I love you guys!

If you have any interest in Oklahoma or how the SCOTUS is working these days, here's the best article I've seen on the subject. www.fool.com/investing/2020/07/09/no-the-supreme-court-didnt-just-break-oklahoma-in.aspxBTW, McGirt was prosecuted for rape of a 4-yr old girl, and other related charges. From what I've read, he's never denied committing the crimes. His appeals have been based on case jurisdiction. Yes, I do have a very negative opinion of that old man. He's spent 20 yrs in prison and is now 71 yrs old.

I was chatting with a friend and we got to joking around about how crazy things are these days. One thing that we came up with (and no, I don't really believe this, but it made me laugh) is that maybe if the Rapture occurs soon, all of the disappearances will be explained away as a new form of covid-19 that causes the victims to completely disintegrate; and maybe that is why the media has been so gung-ho on blaming churches for being the center of recent outbreaks.

Heh, I wouldn't write off that idea too quickly. As much as the Cuomos & DeBlasio, and people like Nancy Pelosi & Don Lemons hate Jesus, and Christians, they could jump st using an explanation like that.

Heh, without being too forthcoming, y'all do know that Sports Illustrated has made a major change for its swimsuit issue this year, don't you? If you are someone who skips that issue, I applaud you. You may skip SI altogether after this year. Yes, I'm tired of the world's favorite trendy agenda showing up everywhere.
