Good morning! It's so foggy here this morning that I can hardly see the house right across the street!
I spoke with my parents on the phone this morning. Dad's first night home from the hospital went pretty well.
I'm going up to their house later this morning to make spaghetti for our lunch and celebrate a belated Father's Day.

The band on the beach with the little hula-dancing hamsters is so cute! Thanks, Mel, for starting a new sunny thread for summer! Hope the sun has cleared off the fog in your locale. Wet here, but sunny. We didn't have much rain last night, but a little bit. Glad to hear your dad did well last night. Hope your mom is doing okay too ... Enjoy your spaghetti lunch. Praying we each and all have an overall good summer.

Hard day at our house. We had to put down Ge'dogg this afternoon. We took him over to Rainbow Bridge to be cremated after we brought him home & had a viewing for the other dogs. He'll be setting on the top shelf of our bookcase in the den, next to Houston D. Hound Dog, by the end of the week.
We know there's a big hole in the house now, where all that golden energy had resided. It will be interesting to see how the pack dynamics change.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss of Ge'dogg. praying for you all. Thanks, Mel! The past 7 or 8 days have been draining. Taking care of Ge' was tougher than any other dog I've cared for all the way through whatever was going on at the end of their lives. I'm doing laundry & dishes now and just being quiet this evening.

Good morning!
We had a stormy night last night, but today has been warm and sunny.
My favorite Chinese restaurant finally reopened this week after being closed since early March.

Thanks, Scott. Later: I was posting on another thread & came over here to see I couldn't get my brain working to write group-hug I know we'll all get better - going to bed last night was tough because the routine we've had for almost 2 months wasn't necessary. Franny had been sleeping on the corner of the waterbed - in Ge's usual spot - since he hadn't been able to get on the bed for about a month. She had a real cheesy 'nyah! nyah!' attitude about being able to get up there. Last night tho', she wouldn't even come in the bedroom. She went to bed in Faith's cubby in the office with her chin on the floor and her paws around her nose. FaithyJ made a point to come ask me for a hug with her tail wagging. I hugged her and told her what a great dog she is - and out of the clear blue - she gave me a big poochy-smooch. She has never been one to try licking our faces so that was quite a surprise. She couldn't figure out where to sleep, acted like she wanted to come in the bedroom but changed her mind and laid down in the hall floor. She didn't stay there long, but I didn't go looking for her when I got up about 1:30 a.m. Leela spent the evening being cute and 'on her best behavior' and letting us know she'd like a lot of attention. We gave it to her - Ge'dogg was her closest dog buddy, so this may be the biggest change for her. We've decided to give Ge'dogg's joint health treats to FaithyJ and Franny. I asked the vet about that yesterday & she thought it was a great idea. They're a little pricey, but those big girls are getting older and they're worth it. I'm inventorying the pantry shelves because I want to stock up for the rest of the summer when the first of the month rolls around. Besides that, I want to try a faux tuna salad recipe that uses chick peas. I thought I had 2 cans, but there aren't any out there. Well, I'd better get back to it.

May was checking out my Shrimp Lo Mein, but I don't think that she liked the smell.

We spoke with our family Dr this morning. She is suggesting that it might be time to consider transferring Dad's primary medical provider from their practice to one of the local Hospice/Palliative care agencies given that both his heart problem and kidney problem have reached the point that not much more can be done beyond trying to ease the symptoms to keep him comfortable other than extreme high risk surgery that he has already said that he doesn't want given all of his other serious health issues. This was not unexpected, but still not easy to hear. Praying for wisdom on how to proceed.
