I stopped at the grocery store this morning to get a few things, and they were selling disposable face masks 10 for $11. Probably the same type of disposables being sold at the commissary. They were 10 for something like $8.39. They're the blue paper/white inside w/elastic ear loops. Good thing about them: they fit Edward perfectly, so Mr. Anti-mask-to-the-nth-degree smiled and agreed he could wear that! Those are the ones. I have several of the reusable washable cloth kind, but with the extreme high humidity that we have been having here most days lately, the thick cloth in the reusable ones just doesn't allow for enough air flow for someone with chronic asthma as bad as mine sometimes gets. I still get a little short of breath relatively quickly with the disposable ones if I have to keep them on for more than a few minutes, but it's not nearly as bad as it is with the cloth ones. As soon as I leave the store (or wherever) the mask comes off. In light of my existing breathing issues, I simply can't see any sense in wearing one outdoors when no one else is close by regardless of the Governor's order for mandatory masking outside your house at all times. And I absolutely refuse to wear one while I am driving alone in my own car. If I get a ticket, so be it.

Just a quick comment before I start chili for dinner- I've had 3 calls to buy reduced rate cruises today, like I should jump for joy at whatever the great price is. I don't let them get far enough to tell me, I tell them I'm not interested, but thanks for calling, & I wish them a great rest of the day. This last gal is probably as American as I am, but I think she was almost too nervous to read her script. Back in a bit ...

Well, here, if you have a doctor's note, you can either avoid wearing a mask altogether, or only wear it as prescribed by your doctor. I wouldn't wear a mask when I was driving, no way. I think that's really dangerous. I've heard of a number of accidents when the driver had on a mask and passed out. I have a number of reusable cloth masks, and Edward has a couple of the neck gaitor style, but it's toooooo hot & humid to wear them. I'm either going to pick up another pack of these disposables, or a pack of the Hanes white t-shirt material cloth masks. I'm just hoping the commissary has one or the other on-hand when I get there in the morning. This is great! --> Who was that masked man? Heh, what did you replace? I couldn't find Miss . You didn't replace her did you? There are a number of the emojis we really don't use that could easily be replaced, and I don't think anyone would mind. Whew! Happy to find my favorite cat!

As it happens, we somehow had 2 slightly different versions of the smiley (one was coded as ": announcement" and the other was coded as ": announce"), so I kept the first one and replaced the other.

Yay! That worked out well!
I started white chicken chili for dinner (with freeze-dried turkey breast), and I left parts of it to Edward as I left to collect rents that hadn't been paid yet and get them deposited before 6 p.m. This rents being paid business is a little tough in January and July.
Edward texted me to say the onions were bad. I texted back, "Bah! Well use freeze dried." But, sent that to the good tenant who was in line at the post office to get a money order to pay her rent. She had a funny reaction to it. I texted back "Bwahahahaha that was for Edward. He's home working on chili."
When I got home, we finished it together. It's not quite the exact recipe, but it smells delicious so I'm gonna say it's done and we can eat it.

The chili really was delicious. It needed "something" so I added a sprinkle if paprika and that really hit the spot - didn't take much. I'm going to bed and read for an hour. Y'all have a great rest of the night!

Good morning! Looks like we are in for another really hot high humidity day here. I'm planning to go to my parents' house later this morning to make spaghetti for our lunch.

Good morning! I hadn't thought of students cheating that way, but it certainly could happen! It's another hot 'n steamy day here too. I'm going grocery shopping today because we are out of jelly, avocados, and paper towels.

Good morning Everyone DH & I arrived back here from our 45th wedding anniversary & 65th birthday trip to the Grand Tetons, etc, as of 7/10 midnight.
While away, my cell phone totally stopped working. Once hone here, DH got it checked out, no life left on it. He ordered another phone, that arrived yesterday. Therefore, once again I have a working phone.
Thankful I was covered in prayer re traveling, as folks were praying esp when stuff acted up while flying etc. Thankful that the trip overall went well & I’m thankful to have had the time with DH.

Hi, Jeanette! Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday! Happy to hear you and hubby were able to get away and enjoy a nice trip! Glad you're back, and with a new phone too. I'm working on finding new insurance for these old rental properties. And I fully agree with you! I couldn't get through this day without having the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in and all over my life. Looks like our city council is having an emergency meeting tomorrow to dictate mask wearing in all public places. Just had a "Breaking News" announcement come over my phone.
