Hi, Jeanette! What kind of car did you get? It may be livable, but it's still no fun to have the AC go out right at the end of the season. It's happened to us more than once. Hope the fix is a quick and easy one. It's 82 degrees here at 10:15 tonight. The weatherman just announced that, and said that's the typical high for the beginning of October, not the 10 p.m. at night temperature ...

Thankful I sent an email before the AC place phones were on. They got back earlier & a guy is headed this way even as I text
Praying it’s minor for now
Although R-22 is being phased out, as of January, 2020, so that in the near future, units will be changed ... just praying not yet, especially after paying for an auto.

Good morning! That's a good looking vehicle, Jeanette, and 70,000 miles is low mileage for a 6 yr old vehicle (2020s should be out by now - I always sigh that our vehicles gain a year in age before the end of a year. My Tahoe is now 17 yrs old. ). We have a good friend who's already texted in this morning - he has an itch, he just must see a 4200 sq ft home that has 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and a 4-car garage, on almost 5 acres in a rural area west of here ... even tho' the place went through a flood a few years back. The owner says it flooded because a dam broke. I cry foul on that excuse! Sweetie's gonna research the location. Flood zones all the way down to flood fringes are pretty well mapped these days. Our friend has a good paying job with one of the casinos, and he has stars in his eyes because this house is so big and the price has dropped over $300,000 in the past 3 years. It's currently listed for $275,000. I wanted to shriek back at him, because it's flooded!!, but I didn't. Edward and I are big believers in this: "Friends don't let friends buy flood homes, or cars."

Good morning! It is a warm day here. Our afternoon high is predicted to be 91 degrees which would break the all time record high for this date which was 89 degrees back in 1926.

Hi, Mel! It's supposed to be 91 here today too. Wonder if that's a trend across the country - like sweeping from SW to NE? It could be. We have a slow moving cold front coming down across the plains tomorrow. It won't be too severe. The 2nd one that's coming at the start of next week is the one that's supposed to bring us our first taste of 45-55 degree temps overnight. These dogs won't know what to do with 65 degree highs for a couple of afternoons - they may revert to being wild dogs. I'm putting some beautiful stew meat in the crockpot for this evening. It should be rich and savory in flavor when it's done - not adding any vegetables except onion, mushrooms, & a little celery because I'm making an eggplant dish with an apple in it that we really like for the side.

After today's record high, which actually got up to 94 before starting to quickly drop, the next 10 days are expected to have highs in the mid to upper 60s with overnight lows in the 40s. Also, lots of rain is predicted for the next few days starting late tonight.
I helped Dad to clean the filters on their furnace and get it ready for the expected cooler weather. I'll probably get mine ready in the next day or so. We don't usually use the heat much before late October, but we may be wanting it on some of these cooler nights.

Thankful the AC was fixed!
The guy started talking to me AC language. I called my DH & gave the phone to the guy. He talked with my DH who authorized the repairs. (Side note: we don’t have an unit that uses R-22, our DS does)
Afterwards: I was going to the gym, forgot my wallet & turned around to head back for it ...
I realized that I could get a good cardio by mowing the front & sides, so that’s what I did for about an hour with a couple of stops as needed.
‘proceeded to wash & dry the auto that was dirty from the mtn roads.
Finished watching a movie I had picked up from LifeWay store last week, “faith in imagination ~ the fantasy makers”, it was about Tolkien, Lewis, and MacDonald. Interesting
‘Have Rested briefly , now gonna do some reading than cook some chicken breasts in an easy & basic recipe to use in a salad for when DH gets home before we dash out to prayer meeting.
I am looking forward to cooler weather!

Friends are starting to guess who can wait the longest before turning on their heat ... I listened to them a couple minutes & then threw in my - I'm waiting to see when I can finally turn off the AC! Yes, it would have been pretty sticky & stuffy & uncomfortable in the house today without it. It's running right now. That's great your AC repair wasn't too bad, Jeanette! I've been cleaning in the master bath. Sweetie came home & joined in to help. He was a big help too. He installed a new blind, and then sorted a basket of odds 'n ends under the sink. I was trying to clean up with a spray bottle of some environmentally correct cleaner that I bought at the Green Market. It's supposed to clean everything: windows, walls, baseboards, sinks, toilets, stoves. It doesn't clean anything! Edward laughed so hard, told me I oughta pour that stuff out, I was working too hard trying to use it. I started sorting the few things under the sink in the main bath and found the wildest thing - there was a large bottle of Pine Sol that was nearly empty, might have had 2" of product in it. The bottle had sucked in and most of what was left had turned to hard, white crystals. No idea what's in that product, but I wasn't about to open that bottle. It went straight out to the trash.

398 days until the 2020 Presidential election and I am already getting sick of the campaigning.
Is it bad that I really, really, really, really, really want Trump to win again just so that we can watch all of the liberal snowflakes have the biggest emotional meltdown of all time?

Nah, not bad at all. I'm right there with you - already tired of the campaigning.
I really, really, really, really, really want Trump to win again because I think he is presently the only one qualified to keep this country moving forward in any kind of positive + ways. If he doesn't win, I'll be devastated because I'll think God has turned out this country's porchlight. Watching the libs go nuts is a circus sideshow that I may watch off 'n on but I'd rather read a good book than expend much energy on them.

I could be wrong (and I really hope that I am) but I am of the opinion that the Obama administration was allowed by God to be a final wake up call for our nation, and the Trump administration is the "calm before the storm" as they say to give us (meaning the nation as a whole) one last chance to repent and get our act together before judgement falls on our nation.
If any of the current Democrat candidates end up as President, I strongly suspect that the USA as we know it is basically done for.

I do agree with you, Mel. Edward & I had a number of discussions on this - he told me outright that Obama had to be president to move things along toward the end. I was pretty upset over that, but I came to a peace about it eventually.
Sweetie has done some study on the Ezekiel 38 war, and events beyond that. We each have started reading J. Vernon McGee's commentary on Ezekiel but neither of us has gotten too far into it.
I definitely think this is true:
I can't imagine it meaning anything but that God has turned His back on the U.S. I'm really praying that doesn't happen. Like you, Sweetie & I each are rooting for Pence to become POTUS after Trump. We'll just have to persevere ... to the end.

I was pretty upset over that, but I came to a peace about it eventually. Looking at the pattern of the Old testament Kings of Judah, even during the darkest most evil periods of the kingdom, there would be a good king such as Hezekiah or Josiah come to power against all odds and the nation would have a revival, only to have the next king lead them back into apostasy worse than what had been before.
