Oh, no, a PC North Pole! . . . I like the new phrase for the reindeer: "air freight specialists" - too, too funny! Congratulations on being finished, Scott! My sock order is all that I'm waiting to arrive. Probably come Monday. Still not feeling like December ... or Christmas - feels like I should have another month yet to wrap up the year. Oh, well ... going to bed now & will ponder it more tomorrow, maybe.

May must have been counting on you to share well ... . I'm always reminding our dogs that Daddy shares better than Mommy, so go beg him to share breakfast with you. We went to our 2nd Christmas party this late afternoon. It was my veterans' group, Military Order of the World Wars. We had good fellowship, good food, and even a magic show! The magic show was put on by one of our newer members, and it was really enjoyable to watch.
The weather was pretty pleasant this afternoon. I got out in the courtyard & raked up leaves. Will pick them up tomorrow afternoon; trash runs Tuesday morning so I want them bagged up & in the trashcart on the curb tomorrow evening.
Probably won't be a white Christmas here, and I'm okay with that. How about for the rest of you?

As for Christmas, the forecast here is for a wet Christmas rather than a white Christmas.

After work this evening I got Chinese takeout for an easy supper.
Even my egg drop soup is not safe around May!

Happy Monday - amazing that Christmas Eve is in a week. ps, Mel, please take a look in the Technical Questions section - I'm not having much luck with Quotes. Thanks.

It's cold and windy here this evening. We are still a few days away from the official start of Winter and I am already so ready for Spring.

Me too. Hoping we start having spring-like days early this coming year. Supposedly it was 50 degrees this afternoon but I don't think it felt like it. I've been cold most of the day. Did not get home in time to load those 2 piles of leaves in the courtyard into the trash. Not happy about that, but it'll be okay if I can get it done before Thursday evening. We're battling with a dishwasher that is not draining correctly. I took it all apart, cleaned it, and put it back together. And before we could try it out, it drained water out into the small hall - not sure how it did that. Sweetie thinks there may be a clog in the garbage disposal so we're taking that apart as soon as we get the chance to do it - hopefully Wednesday afternoon. We don't have a very high tech dishwasher, so we know this isn't like rocket science - it's gotta be pretty straight forward. edited to add: Houston walked up behind my chair a few minutes ago & I looked around to see what he was doing. Well, I caught my little finger in the handle of my coffee cup and slung it right off my work table. I couldn't catch it with the other hand and it shattered on the floor. It's this pattern & style. I only had one. Yes, I'm bummed out. See y'all tomorrow - I'm gonna call it a night. ~ attachment removed by original poster ~

Probably won't be a white Christmas here, and I'm okay with that. How about for the rest of you? I'm good with that too. We have a white Christmas usually once in 6 or 7 years, more often for folks just a few more miles inland.

May does not approve of dirty dishes in the sink.

Well, Miss May may not care for dishes in the sink, but ... one of our pups certainly approved of egg cups left on the kitchen counter. We have (or more accurately, we had) a set of those hard boiled egg makers you see advertised on TV - and some dog managed to snag a papertowel, which popped a lid to one of them off the counter. That was fun to chew up for a minute - 2 others were pulled off the counter and chewed up too. Just the red lids, but those are a necessity. Guess I'll be picking up another set soon. We use them often. ~ attachment removed by original poster ~

I've had Carly Simon playing in the background to whatever paperwork I was doing this afternoon. I hadn't listened to her in a long time - I really enjoyed it! Her song, The Night Before Christmas is almost syrupy sweet - and I that. The Night Before ChristmasCarly Simon, 1992 Children carry through the streets A brightly painted star Angels gather 'round the hearth Strumming on guitars Men of great renown and faith Say prayers on boulevards It's the night before Christmas But you don't have to be an angel To sing harmony And you don't have to be a child To love the mystery And you don't have to be a wise man On bended knee The heart of this Christmas is in you and me The night before Christmas The night before Christmas If your heart's been longing And you've been afraid to try Sorrow's kept you company And the dance has passed you by I'll lift you up and blaze with you Across the moonlit sky On the night before Christmas . . . . (Chorus repeats)
