Good afternoon! Sun is shining & snow is melting across SW Oklahoma. Yay! The dogs have spent most of the day outside so far, by choice. They seem to be loving this weather. Great sermon by Dr. Robert Jeffress this morning. His topic: leaving a legacy. He's nearly finished his way through Choosing the Extraordinary Life. That's an excellent read! Thanks, Jeanette, for pointing out the ownership info at the bottom of the Tracking Bible Prophecy website. Her name is Amy, and she's a meteorologist. To me, her PF handle, "metroames" definitely makes sense now. I've been reading on her site today. Very good info; very interesting. I need to see if there's a way to turn a black page background to white so I can read it. If there isn't, I may copy all of the list of 101 Prophecies and paste them onto a blank page. I don't know that she owns that material - looks like someone else's when you open it. Hanukkah ends at sundown tomorrow. I think we'll celebrate with some potato latkes. (Well, maybe not - I forgot that Sweetie is finally having that broken tooth pulled in the morning. Don't know what he'll feel like for dinner. Maybe broth for him for dinner. We'll see. )

Good morning! It is a chilly 18 degrees here this morning. May is staying near the heating vent in the living room instead of going on her usual morning "run around the house like a crazy thing" routine.

My great-niece's birthday was this past weekend. The child is obsessed with reptiles and rodents. Even the cake she picked for her party was critter themed:

I ❤ this cake! How old is she these days? She is 8 which hardly seems possible already. She is twice the age that her mother was when Sharon and I got married. I feel so old.

Well, having a somewhat frustrating morning. I have to laugh because it's such a "first world problem." Let me vent a minute -- Sweetie had a dental appt for 8:30 this a.m. to finally have that broken tooth pulled. I'm determined to drive him home so came along. Few minutes till 9, friend called who needed to run an errand - we'd planned this last evening so I ran & picked him up, errand took less than 30 min & I was back here. Kind of surprised sweetie wasn't waiting on me. 30 min went by - we'd been here 90 by then. Someone said he wanted to talk to me so I walked back to see him. They'd had trouble getting his xrays & he'd told them to just pull.the.tooth. They checked & found out his insurance will pay for a cleaning, so how about if they did that next? He said fine. Suggested I take his phone & go across to Whataburger & have breakfast. I was hungry, so I did. Over there, no Wi-Fi so I went analog & started an email to my bff. Couldn't save it, but didn't know that till I realized I'd lost it. Walked back to the dentist's office about 10:45 & still waiting an hour later. Meanwhile, tried that email again & my phone decided to shutdown & restart. No idea why. And then my android wouldn't work w/the Wi-Fi here, so I turned off digital & I'm back to analog. Thought I'd rant because y'all would understand. This is wild - receptionist just told a walk-in patient this place closes from noon to 1, so she'll have to come back this afternoon. I have news for these gals: this woman isn't going anywhere till they release that man they must be holding hostage back there!

You are so right, Mel! We ended up being at the dentist's office for 5-1/2 hours. It ended up being good for Edward; would have been really nice if some employee had given me an accurate response any one of the 3 times I asked how he was doing and if they knew how much longer he'd be there? But nooo, I was told, "He's almost finished." "He'll be up right away now." "They're doing the extraction right now." Of course, he had no idea that I had sat out there the whole time until he walked up front at the end. After xrays, they did a deep cleaning (like nearly to the bone ), then a laser treatment to be sure and kill any remaining bacteria. Finally, they extracted that broken tooth. He actually needs 3 or 4 teeth on the bottom, right in front, removed & then have a partial plate. The broken tooth was on the bottom but about halfway back on the right side. Those extractions will probably occur in 2019 at some point - insurance will not cover that. He was a bit loopy till about mid-evening. I teased him awhile ago and he laughed and agreed; said he was glad I was there to drive him home, all things considered. He expects this to improve his overall health, and that does make good sense. The rest of my day has been quiet, since we came home, which has been nice. I've read some book reviews, which were interesting. Not looking to buy another book until I finish a few I have now. I may eventually get a library card, something I have not had in at least 25 years. Well, I think I'll load the dishwasher and treat myself to getting into bed a bit early. See you all tomorrow!

Good morning! Beautiful sunshine ... chilly, about 28 degrees. The dogs & I have all ran around the backyard and they're now sacked out again in the house.
Big community food-toy-blanket collection going on today for the poor & needy in our own community. I support this because it benefits the Salvation Army & local food bank.
