Hi, Jeanette, Mel, and Scott! I wrestled with ordering a pair of novelty socks for DS and each member of his household. It was fun - but there were soooo many choices, cute things and some funny. Well, when I finished the order, I got a notice that I'd just provided 100 days of clean water for Rwanda. I haven't been on a site that is linked to someone doing something like that in a few years! I went to the link to see if I could figure out how much water was involved, or how many people that would serve, but the site wasn't that easy to get around on. It's 20liters.org/ I'll likely go back to it and read later. Anyway, I have one gift to support a family our office has adopted for the holidays and I think that's the last of my shopping. I've been really disciplined about not spending money, lol. My "impulse buy" was a copper skillet for our kitchen - Edward & I really enjoy cooking together and we'll get a lot of use out of it. We have a company party at our Brokers' home on Friday night and my veterans' group party is Sunday afternoon. That's the extent of the socializing this year. I may cocoon at home till after the 1st after that, lol. Good night, y'all!

Good morning!
It is 36 degrees and windy here this morning.
Can you believe that we are less than 2 weeks from Christmas?

Can you believe that we are less than 2 weeks from Christmas? Nope! It's hard for me to believe it's already December! It just doesn't "feel" like it - even though we've had cold weather, and snow. And we've had years since I've been here that it was 85 degrees the week before Christmas, so I don't know what's missing that it doesn't feel like we're at the end of the year.
Supposed to be 60 and windy today, then turn crummy tomorrow with the possibility of a "wintry mix". Oh, yeh, I'm about to get out and do everything that really needs doing today in case it's really miserable tomorrow then I can stay inside.
Y'all have a great day!

That Miss May knows her own mind. What was she up to in this picture?
It's turned cold this evening - well, I really thought it was cold all day! No matter how much the weatherman insists "it was 60 in spots around the area this afternoon." He chuckled so I'm not sure he thought it felt all that warm either. The meteorologists, or someone at the station, developed this Trash Can Wind Meter graphic. It's pretty accurate! ~ attachment removed by original poster ~ Sweetie & I were doing some laundry together so, as we were right there at the garage entry, I asked him to help me secure the trashcart. We pulled it around and into the courtyard at the front of our house. He put it in the corner where the garage & front of the house make an L shape, and then pushed the park bench over against it. It's a real bother when they damage things at the neighbors and go completely missing (we've all this happen over the years ).

I'm not really sure. She was just sitting on the table looking as if she were deep in thought.

How are y'all? Currently, 42 degrees, with a windchill of 31 degrees. Wind gusts are in the 40s to near 50 miles per hour. Top wind gust this afternoon in Lawton was 62 mph. It's poured down cold rain in the midst of all this wind. I think I have finished Christmas shopping. I'll need to pick up some fresh produce, probably, but that should be it. My mood has improved about the holiday - I think being finished with spending money on it helped. The socks should even be here on Saturday. My buddies John & Charley (they're like fun brothers!) are ordering a new set of tires for me. Not sure what brand they'll be or what they'll cost, but it's gonna be a better deal than what Goodyear offered. They should come on next Wednesday's truck. Meanwhile, I am not running back & forth on the interstate.

I those kitties! Bet some catnip would make that middle guy smile - he's looking so tough! It's milder this morning, tho' the wind is still woofing at 30-35 mph. The cold rain has moved on and the sky is clearing. Yay! The dogs haven't been too crazy about going outside, they don't care for all that cold, wet grass. Ge'dogg seemed surprised when he woofed and none of his neighbor buddies answered him. They were probably back in their warm people houses. He didn't stay out long. I think he's asleep under the desk in the living room.

It is cold and rainy here this evening. Two or more inches of rain is expected overnight. Our area is under a flood watch until 6PM tomorrow. Good night!

Good morning! I'm on the phone with our cell provider. I called in because I got a text this morning saying we did not get a promo rate on our bill because we did not qualify. This is annoying. Why can they not all speak the same about their costs and fees - between the folks at the store & customer service & the great billing computer in the ozone layer? ... well, it's been about 25 minutes and she didn't tell me how she managed to do it (other than to say she has a little more freedom to adjust a bill or plan than the average customer svc rep because she's not assigned to that dept, she's over there today to see how some things are working), but we are apparently going to have the reduction to our bill, the way the salesperson in our local store said we would. We'll see. Hope you don't have any flooding problem from all that rain, Mel. Our company Christmas party was last evening at our Brokers' home. It was very nice - good people, great food, we had a white elephant gift exchange that was a lot of fun. Hope you all have a great Saturday!

All of my Christmas shopping is done. All I can say is God bless Amazon.com! I HATE going to the mall, especially during holidays.
