Good morning! I had another restless night. Lots of really weird dreams. It's 40 degrees here this morning. Looks like we are in for a chilly rainy day here. Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning! Praying your appointment to have your staples removed goes well. I hope they get them all completely out! Foggy and mild here this morning; supposed to clear up and warm up as the day goes on. So is your DH back in town from his travels for awhile now, Jeanette? That's a pretty crummy deal over the faucet. You made me think tho', I've got to register the freezer. It's a Hotpoint & should last years, but one never knows. Short story - the Realtor I work for (Nita) has teamed with another Realtor (Lorie) to form their own real estate company. We assistants are going with them, of course. A couple other Realtors may join us before too long. The big move to the new location started this past weekend, but this was in the works when they took me to lunch & hired me late last August. I'm as excited about it as they are, of course, or wouldn't be a part of this. Where we've been since 2016 is at a large, more-or-less close-knit franchise office of one of the bigger international real estate companies. One is not wished well nor treated well if they leave. I've been through 3 church splits - and this feels a lot like that. Another Realtor who has been with this large office for probably 30 years also moved out to open her own office this past weekend. The Brokers have brought on someone to take over the company because they are retiring. It's a 3-year process, but it hasn't been handled well. The new person is behaving as if she's golden, everyone else is dirt, and she's setting up a little empire that's excluding people who have been large income producers for the company for many years. That's a lot of what's making this so sad, and angrifying, even tho' we're excited to move on & do something new. I may be getting a lot of hours this month, and that's a good thing too - my goal is to pay down or pay off bills. I'm about to head to the office now. I'll see y'all later! Hope all of you have a great day!

You're looking good in your new avatar, Mel. Thank you. Things went smoothly with both the staple removal and with the Therapy evaluation. I have my first home therapy session on Thursday and then twice per week for the next 4 weeks followed by another evaluation. The pastor stopped in to see me this evening and we had a nice visit. I'm very tired this evening but feeling good otherwise. The removal of the staples seems to have almost entirely eliminated the phantom sensations that I was having in the amputated leg.

That's great! Praying you continue healing. I'm tired this evening, but we're moved into the new office. Yay! Grocery shopped at Wal-Mart and forgot to look for dark chocolate baking chips. I found a great price on artichoke hearts, and I picked up a can of snails. There were a few packs of turkey cutlets, and 1-lb packs of ground turkey so I picked up a couple of each. I think we have pretty much enough food to last awhile. I'm concentrating now on not using more electricity than we need to use - our bill went up for last month. Hope you all have a great night.

Happy to hear you had a better night's sleep, Mel. The wind raged most of the night. It swept in around 10 p.m. and roared till about 5 a.m. It was downright scary around 2 a.m. Woke me up, but the dogs seemed to sleep pretty well. I am thankful none of our trees came down, the patio cover looks good, there are no shingles in the yard, and the fence is standing. It's a chilly, sunny morning. I've got a full day ahead so gotta get the dogs fed and head out. Hope you all have a great day!

And people wonder why I don't trust the news media. Israeli TV Channel Mistakenly Shows ‘Live Footage’ Of TIE Fighter From Star Wars Crash Land In UkraineA viral video, which was mistakenly used by Israel’s Channel 13 news, claimed it was running live footage of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine The clip featured a crash-landed TIE fighter from Star Wars and even shows stormtroopers standing beside the Imperial aircraft. The Mail Online reports: An investigation at Channel 13 has been launched and the editor has been suspended after the video was aired during a montage of destruction in Ukraine. The clip was originally an advert produced by Disney and Lucasfilm in 2014 to promote a new Star Wars channel on Sky Deutschland. newspunch.com/israeli-tv-channel-mistakenly-shows-live-footage-of-tie-fighter-from-star-wars-crash-land-in-ukraine/

Today was my first day wearing the "shrinker" sock on my leg stump to begin reshaping it in preparation for prosthetic fitting instead of just having it wrapped in bandages.
I will be wearing that until the 26th when I go to see the man that will be making a mold of the stump as the first step in making my new foot.

Overall I'm feeling pretty good, but could still use prayers.
Up till now, I haven't gone into too much detail regarding the infection I had as I am still coming to terms with it myself, but it was wide spread throughout my body and I am dealing with a number of other health issues besides the amputation.
In addition to the loss of my foot, I have damage to my heart that will require me to be on a couple of different heart medicines as well as a blood thinner for the rest of my life and scar tissue in my lungs that will make me extra susceptible to pneumonia. Also, my existing pre-diabetes has now developed into full blown diabetes. At one point in the hospital my blood glucose was over 650 with an A1C of 15.5.
I didn't know it at the time, but the Dr tells me that I came very close to death multiple times during the first 2 weeks of my hospital stay.
Between the infection and all the meds that were being pumped into me, I don't really remember my first week in the hospital.
