Good morning, Mel! Good morning, Jeanette! It's a beautiful sunny morning, in the low 50s. May reach the high 70s this afternoon. My brother had a Matchbox race track with a double loop. The cars had trouble making the loop without falling off; we never could figure out if there was a trick to launching them or what. I'm sure I have a couple of cars still, but I'm not sure where they are ... one is a burgundy Corvette & I think the other one is an Aston Martin something or other. I'm not sure if they're Hot Wheels or Matchbox. Now I'm curious to take a look. Sweetie has to put a sign on a new listing this afternoon so I thought I'd ride along. We may go by Lowe's and see if they have any freezers on display. Hope you all have a pleasant Saturday!

Our trip across town to Lowe's was worthwhile. We found the freezer we want. They have a delivery coming to the store on Tuesday. The sales lady said we can buy one then - and we plan to go back over there & do that. This spring weather really brought people out today. Lowe's parking lot was full of cars and the store was humming with people. We stopped by Wal-Mart for a minute so I could run in & pick up some fresh meat for dinner. That place was packed too. Well, hopefully, I'm now home for the rest of the weekend. Praying for you, Mel, that your day goes well. Praying you have no more plumbing or other problems with your house before your DH returns home, Jeanette. I've turned on the AC, just to clear out the stuffiness in the house. I told Pup Fran I'd turn on the air for her when we came back. They're sacked out here in the office, enjoying the cool breeze. Hope you're all having a great afternoon!

‘Evening
Well, ‘spent the night at DD#3 as grands games were early. Afterward games were complete for the morning, we got some food & I headed home after 2.
While home, after 3, DD#2 called as her new truck had been hit while at a stop sign! Grands were with her.
Thankfully everyone involved are ok! I drove to her area to get them home. A man, driving about 55 mph, decided to turn left across 3 lanes, he hit another auto who was driving in one of those lanes & that auto was pushed into DD#2’s brand new truck!
Thankfully the police, rescue folks & tow trucker were quickly on the scene to assist! DD#2’s truck wasn’t drivable, due to damage to tire area …
Thankful for God’s hedge of protection around all the people involved. (Her DH was on a plane headed west across the country).

Thanking God your DD#2 and her kiddos were unhurt! Thanking God that no one was injured. What a wreck! I hope you get a good night's sleep, Jeanette - you had a pretty busy Saturday! “Peg Hunting” is going to stores & looking through the hot wheels or matchbox cars that are hanging on the store display pegs. That's a neat term! I'm going to keep that one in mind. Youngest grandson likes Hot Wheels & Matchbox cars. I didn't get to stay home the rest of today. We were cutting up veggies to add to salad, and I pulled out the salad only to discover it was pretty limp and some of the leaves weren't edible. I decided a trip down the street to Braum's would fix things. The only good greens they had on hand was bagged baby spinach, but we like spinach so I bought a bag. We laughed about it, happy to still have our salad. Praying we all sleep well tonight. Love y'all and I'll see you tomorrow.

Good afternoon! It's in the low-70s so far this afternoon. We've watched a couple of old (late-1930s) John Wayne movies & they've really been fun. Y'know, the 3 good guys always catch the half dozen bad guys & manage to tie them up, or even shoot them dead, without being shot themselves. Poor John Wayne - there's always a pretty girl he's helping solve some crime, but he never even gets a kiss before riding off with his 2 buddies. John Wayne and the 2 buddies are The 3 Mesquiteers - this was apparently a series of 90-min movies. I've done a big load of dishes; about to start laundry & then take a laundry room key to a new tenant at the big complex. The laundry room should be unlocked by this time of day, but there's no real attendant (just a couple of tenants who have taken advantage of Nita's good humor, & now they're inconveniencing other tenants by locking up the laundry room). We're working on getting a key to each & every tenant, but I haven't caught up with them all yet. Praying for your recovery to continue going well, Mel. Praying for you and yours today, Jeanette, in all needs & concerns.

Hope you're all doing well this evening. gotta share this ... Sweetie is suffering long covid, which is miserable and frustrating. He's told one of his docs, who chuckled & said yep, that's the description of it, then shrugged his shoulders because he has no idea what to do for it. He talked to another doc's nurse and she recognized his symptoms, said oh, yeh, her sister had covid last fall & it wasn't a serious case, but she's been sicker since she got well & it's the same symptoms+ that Sweetie's having. So no answers from her either. I've been researching inflammation and foods that increase energy, but with little success. Yesterday, one of my regular news emails had an article in it that didn't seem to go with the newsletter in general so I suspected it might be an ad -- you know, one of those infomercial style ads that promise for $XX.xx I could order a super-mega-vitamin that would cure everything, especially any holdover virus symptoms. I read my way through what actually proved to be a synopsis of a research project and it was about people suffering long covid symptoms. It's suspected that at least half the people who've had the virus, any variant and/or in any level of severity, is still suffering symptoms that are puzzling and for which a treatment protocol hasn't been determined. I had to wade through a lot - the outcome of studying through all that has led the researchers to believe people with these long covid symptoms are suffering micro-bloodclots. These clots are keeping muscles from getting enough oxygen, so people are suffering exhaustion after brief periods of any type of work or they have little energy all day. They aren't getting enough oxygen to the brain, apparently - that's gotta be what's behind the brain fog and headaches. You'd think somebody would be all over setting up groups to treat symptomatic people based on knowing that ^^^, wouldn't you? "Yet neurological exams, EKGs and chest X-rays come back clean." So, basically, people have to be believed based on self-report data. So far, all researchers have come up with is a suggestion that people suffering long covid symptoms be treated with blood thinners and anti-coagulants. That ^^^ was in the conclusion portion of the article. That was pretty disappointing. But God! ... this next little bit at the end just seems almost out of place: OTC antihistamines could significantly aid in recovery of long covid symptoms, finally - ?!? I was silently shrieking my thanks to God! Once I caught my breath, and pulled myself together, I gave Edward the thumbnail sketch of what I'd read. Then we started looking at the cold & allergy medicines we have in the house. The one I take that's usable by people with high blood pressure has an antihistamine in it. (I take that any time I have a cold or allergy symptoms that aren't clearing right up. That's what I took when I had covid, same time Edward had covid). He started taking that cold medicine this morning. We'll see where this takes him. Meantime, I'm still thanking God and praying that I read all the guidance correctly. I went back & read the linked article about those 2 patients and basically, they happened onto taking antihistamines accidentally after months of medical tests and no solutions. They began getting relief and are still improving. I'm praying this works for Edward! /end of the big thing here this weekend.

In and around the previous discussion, I found a prepper site that I previously had thought little of now has a better selection of foods and survival gear, and the prices aren't too bad. They have what appears to be a good survival guide with lots of medical information in it. And they have the personal use water purification straws that will filter gallons of water so that it's safe to drink. We talked that over this afternoon & decided I'd order a bucket of black bean burgers, a case of BBQ baked beans, and a case of chili mac, along with 2 water filtration straws and the prepper's medical handbook. And, not to leave out our darling dogs, we made a prepper plan for the Pup Fran & Leela and I updated my autoship delivery at chewy.com so we can put some medium-grade canned food back for them in case the dog food situation gets worse than it presently is. Beyond all the above, I'm just hoping we'll be able to get our yard mowed for a reasonable price this season. Little green shoots are beginning to pop up through the dry grass around here. Okay, enough, enough for one weekend! Lol I really wish we all lived close to each other so we could visit face-to-face. I love you all! See you tomorrow.

‘Morning
Thank you once again for your researching & sharing info, Barb!
Praying for you, Mel, hope to see you here.
I’m feeling out of sorts :-X
Thankful, Saturday night was better than all week re resting.
Thankful Sunday I didn’t set an alarm, decided to skip the service and got to Sunday school, a little late. There was one couple & a gal I hadn’t seen in awhile. Nice small group & conversation plus lesson.
Afterwards, I checked with the gal & drove to her home, where I parked and we walked to a nearby restaurant for lunch & conversation. I tried some different food & had an experience of “eating” artichoke hearts (?) Thankful the waitress explained the “how to” re eating them! Otherwise, I’d still be trying to chew stuff! Turns out ya gotta use your teeth to kind of scrap the artichoke from the cooked (?) leaves and the center of soft stuff is edible. lol
Stopped by a grocery store on the way home.
Afterwards, another gal in the neighborhood & I met up and rode bikes for over an hour on the greenway & some street, slow & steady. (About 8.5 miles)
I’m thinking all the eating out foods, (extra salt that’s used), Friday thru Sunday, is affecting my normally low BP, as it’s been a little higher than “normal”.
I’m so over DH’s being away. :-X
Praying re getting a check to the place, hopefully with son-in-law, to walk away from the purchase of the apparent “money-pit” house, before April 1st.
I’m also dealing with some dizziness which may be related to either vertigo or foods etc. praying it goes away, also.
Grouphug
Oh and the heat has been running, even set at 60! It’s 32 degrees outside here at 7:30 am

Good morning! Power company has had a bucket truck parked alongside our northside privacy fence all morning. I'm wondering what their plans are - ? I'm heading to the office in a few minutes, but want to start the washer on the 'self-clean' cycle with a cup of bleach added. This is the first time I've run this cycle, it's pretty neat that the washer has an icon that flashes when it's time to do it. I'm leaving Sweetie in charge of the project. He needs to run a rinse & spin cycle afterwards. I'm real interested to see how that works out. I’m feeling out of sorts :-X I really hope you get to feeling better today, Jeanette. Your adventure with eating the artichoke was pretty interesting - I've never eaten a fresh one like that, tho' I've heard about scraping the leaves on your teeth that way. I put canned artichokes into a couple of recipes we like, and that's so easy it's almost like cheating. I hear fresh artichokes are tough to peel, so I've never found a real need to try to work with one. Praying for you today, Mel. Hope to see you here too.

Very chilly here today. I don't think that it ever got above 30 degrees. That's pretty cold for this time of the year. It was up to 86 here this afternoon. Not supposed to be as warm tomorrow, but still 80 and then possibly severe storms tomorrow evening. The Tahoe wasn't ready to pick up today. But L said DS can drive her SUV to work tomorrow & he & oldest grand can help us after 2:30 tomorrow. Yay! We worked till about 5:30 this afternoon. I'm still cooking dinner. It was funny tho' - I walked into the house thinking about how nice it would have been if dinner had been ready to go on the plate. ... Yeh, that didn't happen.
