Very tired this evening but feeling good overall. Pastor from my church (Casey not Adam) stopped in to visit for a little while. Happy to hear that, Mel! It's trying to thunderstorm, but it doesn't look like it's going to amount to much. Franny is pawing my knee, nonetheless, every time she hears a clap of thunder in the distance. Poor dog!

Praying for you, Mel How often will you be at PT? Daily or more while in there?
‘Morning ‘Been awake since 2 ish Temperature here at 5 am is 52 degrees Expecting rain later today
Barb any thoughts ? Re ~ I made a blueberry pie yesterday with store bought crust, it turned out soupy, even though I followed directions well, as my first time making it … 3 containers (pints) of blueberries - rinsed, sprinkling of white sugar, dash of nutmeg, couple tablespoons of flour & put the blueberries inside the pie crust, with pats of butter around top, the a crust on top, splits in the top. Baked the right amount of time.
Well actually, I didn’t hear the timer go off & I was upstairs doing chores, but still left it in the oven as it hadn’t looked done. I had placed it inside a Corning wear circular pan as I didn’t want to clean up the oven in case it cooked over. It did. It also flattened down.
Anyway it tasted ok, just soupy! I had mine with a bit of vanilla ice cream, after dinner.

PT is 3 hours per day. Hope you are all doing well. Prayers coveted. You bet, Mel! I'm praying for you several times a day. Specifically, I'll pray that your PT sessions are productive for your recovery. Praying for your energy level to be re-invigorated. Praying also that the Holy Spirit will boost you up, and show you God's purposes for you at this time in your life. I love you brother!

I don't often make pies; if I were going to do something with blueberries, it would be a cobbler. I'm pretty sure the pie needed a thickener. I've read that cornstarch works better than flour, so I'd do a little experimenting - maybe 1/2 flour & 1/2 cornstarch. If it's still a little runny, I'd leave out the flour and double the amount of cornstarch. Anyway, not sure, just guessing. It's cold here this morning. The wind roared all night, and it's still doing it. We didn't set the trashcart out at the curb - Edward didn't think about it; I did, but was afraid the north wind would roll it right down the street (we've had issues in the past). I didn't sleep well last night and was wide awake early so decided to get up & set out the trashcart. I nearly made it - I'd just opened the front door to let the dogs out in the courtyard, so they wouldn't be upset when I went out through the garage to set out trash, and there was the trash truck, roaring toward our corner. I got a big kick out of this C.S. Lewis quote so thought I'd share it here: I hope y'all have a great Friday!

Lunch today was Mac and cheese. I have been so hungry for that. Brought back memories of my Mom's Mac and cheese.

It's really windy out today ... and it was pretty cold & overcast this morning. The sun is out now, and it's supposedly 56, but probably a windchill of 10 degrees lower. I'm having some leftover mushroom tortellini soup. Hoping it keeps me warm for the afternoon. I'm not planning to leave the office for 3 hours - I really hope to start work on our office manual. I do have to write up a lease violation notice & tape it on someone's door. This morning was a do-dishes; & wash 2 loads of clothes kind of day. The 1st load is in the dryer; the second load is socks, underwear, & towels so can wait till we come home later. Edward's on floor duty from 1:3-5:30. I'm planning to grocery shop at 4:30, then go back by the office & pick him up. He's had to wait on me to shop apartments the last 2 times he had floor duty so I think he deserves to go home on time today. See y'all this evening.

Mel, when you're not at PT, does the staff having you doing anything particular or do they leave to your own interests of being on the internet, watching TV, reading ... ? Praying for you this afternoon.

Mostly alone in my room when not at pt. At least I have TV for background noise and my phone.

Mostly alone in my room when not at pt. At least I have TV for background noise and my phone. Mm, yeh, that's probably pretty boring. That time is when we need to drop by with a backgammon board. I haven't played backgammon in years, but my late dh & I played a lot. I think Edward has played, but wasn't crazy about it. Dominoes suit him better. What kind of board games do you like? Have they given you any idea how long this PT program will last? I hope it's long enough but doesn't drag on.

Everything is kind of up in the air right now.
As for board games, I like the classics checkers, chess, etc.

I like checkers too. I didn't learn to play chess - too adhd, I think, hehe. Didn't have the patience for it. My dad & brother played chess, which always fascinated me. I was sitting in the car, at Wal-Mart, waiting my turn to move when I was writing that, and then it was my turn to move. We were going to Home Depot for a quick look at chest freezers. I'm hoping it makes sense to buy a small-ish one. They had none on display, but they do have a handful in stock. We had run out of patience and we were both tired. We're hoping there will be an ad for some store on in the Sunday paper & it will involve freezers. Anyway, it was nearly 8 o'clock by the time we came home. I put up the groceries & worked on finishing the load of laundry that's in the dryer. As soon as the news goes off, I'm going to bed. I'm so sleepy! See y'all tomorrow.

Hope you are all having a great day.
In therapy today working on balancing on one leg and doing basic exercises.
Did a little bit of walking with my arms between the parallel bars.
Getting stronger but still very frustrated with the whole situation.

Hope you are all having a great day. In therapy today working on balancing on one leg and doing basic exercises. Did a little bit of walking with my arms between the parallel bars. Getting stronger but still very frustrated with the whole situation. Keeping you in prayer, Mel! Talked with Carmen (cricket55) in texts on Thursday. She's praying for you too, Mel. She said in all her years of working in PT, she learned that losing a limb, as you have, takes time to come through. She's hoping you'll be patient with the therapists and with yourself. It's pretty outside, with lots of sun & a cool breeze blowing. The thermometer may say it's in the low 70s, but it doesn't feel that warm. Think I've drank enough coffee for the day - think I'll work it off by looking for things I can take to the Thrift Shop next week. Also putting together a bag to donate. Hope y'all have a great Saturday!
