It is a couple of days early, but since today is the start of Christmas week I thought that I would get the Winter chat thread started.

I know I'll start getting better as soon as the sun starts coming up earlier & setting later. Me too. I'm always glad when we get past the shortest day each December.

Good afternoon! I hope you're all doing well today. It's sunny and cold here - presently 43, and forecast to maybe go up another couple degrees. Great new thread, Mel! I know I'll start getting better as soon as the sun starts coming up earlier & setting later. Me too. I'm always glad when we get past the shortest day each December. A friend and I used to tease each other that we must have been druids in a past life, because we were always cheering when we reached the shortest day of the year because it meant we'd soon have more daylight in our days. Whoever saw the other first at the coffeepot would typically ask, "So, are you lighting a candle against the darkness tonight?!?" We had an inspiring sermon at 9 this morning, and then a livestream of the 11 a.m. Christmas Sunday service. The title at 11 a.m. was, "What if There Were No Christmas?" <-- That 2nd sermon sounded like resurrection was the theme; it was really educational and inspiring! Hope y'all have a great afternoon!

After church, I bought a tuna salad sub for an easy lunch and got the laundry started. Other than that, I've just been having a peaceful afternoon relaxing at home and watching reruns of "Touched by an Angel". The squirrels have been extra playful today. I opened the back door to look out at them a few minutes ago, and they came running to beg for extra peanuts. Of course, I had a handful of nuts ready to go. I don't think that our temperature ever got above 39 today, and tonight's low is expected to be around 20 with a wind chill possibly in the single digits.

Well ... the weekend has really gone by quickly. We're working tomorrow & Tuesday, and "we'll see" about Wednesday. Our office will be closed on Thursday & Friday (not necessarily the whole real estate office, but our office within the company). I'm really having a tough time getting much done this evening.

The little 2 year old girl that I requested prayer for last month suffered a major seizure this evening and is back in the hospital. She is scheduled to be transferred tonight to the pediatric ICU in Hershey PA.

I have been up with acid reflux 3x overnight. Ugh! We split a couple of cheap burritos for dinner last evening. We'd picked them up a couple months ago, thinking they'd be good for a quick lunch on the weekend. Ha! Not so. Going to see if I can go back to sleep for an hour. See you in a bit. Good morning, Mel!

I checked in @the Ortho clinic. After all my paperwork was accepted, & the disk of my x-rays, the clerk asked, with great hesitation, if I had a covid vaccine card? I smiled & said no. She grinned, heaved a sigh of relief & told me to have a seat. I wondered if she has been treated badly by patients who are opposed to the jab? Heh, she just works there is the way I look at it.

I wondered if she has been treated badly by patients who are opposed to the jab? Heh, she just works there is the way I look at it. Lately, I've seen far too many folks on both sides of the vax, mask, social distance debate act just horrible toward medical personnel, store workers, and even everyday folks just trying to mind their own business and get on with their lives. And I suspect that it is only going to get worse with this current fear mongering over the supposed new variant.

Tomorrow is the shortest day of the year.
I'll be glad to start getting a few more minutes of daylight each day.
