Good morning! 26 degrees with lots of sunshine and no wind at 8 a.m. Glad you updated us, Mel. Why-ever the postponement, I'm praying your surgery is highly successful today. We're having birthdays around this house today - my 65th & Edward's 71st. I'm fixing breakfast then heading to the office; we're getting together for some great coffee later on this afternoon. I don't know that we're doing anything else in particular, tho'. I have laughed every time I've thought of this birthday for the past couple of weeks. If asked, I'd have always said I expected to reach 65, but now that it's here, it's a little hard to believe it. Thanking God for blessing and keeping us all the days we have lived thus far, and for having plans for our lives every day into and through the future.

Thanks, Mel! Later: Was your surgery put off yet again? It was great to hear from you, but it's left me wondering how you're doing.

Good morning! It's about 50 and sunny this morning, but a cold front is on the way ... just not sure if it'll be here this afternoon or later this evening. Praying for you in all needs and concerns this morning, Mel. I really hope things are going along well for you today. Asking God to continue to bless and keep you squarely in the middle of His plan for you. Barb happy belated birthday to you & your DH! Thanks, Jeanette! We had a good birthday. We went out for coffee yesterday afternoon and talked awhile. Later, we went out to dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant. We finished off the day at home, watching our current favorite TV show - Resident Alien. I've found my 'helmet' against the goofiness going on in the world these days ...

Good morning! It's up to 28 with a windchill of 15. The windchill was 10 a couple of hours ago. Praying for you this morning, Mel. I hope you're recovering from the surgery at this point. Jeanette, I was looking for some info online for 5G phones & electromagnetic fields and that Faraday hat poster popped up. Y'know I had to save a copy. There was none of the coffee we like at the commissary yesterday, and almost no t.p. of any type. Canned corned beef from Brazil was a dollar less than it had been so I bought 2. The frozen fish we like was about $1.50 lower too, so I bought a couple of those. There were other items that had gone up in price. I heard a food price increase predicted for early summer so I want to be sure the pantry is stocked. We're under a Winter Weather Advisory till 6 p.m. May have snow this afternoon. C'mon spring! See y'all later!

Howdy! It's still cold & windy, but sunny this early evening - so that's nice. It's been a tough couple of days in the trenches of property management. Not at my personal rentals, but within 2 sets of the corporate-owned rentals we manage. All of the problems people have in their personal lives can be pretty sad. There were 2 deaths this week - one a murder; the 2nd either a suicide or a murder - it's unsure at present. Tenants' problems do involve us sometimes because we are like an extension of their families, being that we're in the role of managing the roof over their heads; we do care about those people, you know. I felt like I'd been in a battle yesterday - and I could feel the adrenaline pumping as I sorted through lies I was being told, & I was making it clear to a guy that it doesn't bother me in the least bit to ask people the pointed questions; and then I was tired. Today, it was brutally cold & windy, and we had to do a lock-out on a guy we evicted a month ago and after finally reaching the end of our patience with listening to his lies and seeing his drug-dealing on the property. The guy the Sheriff's Deputy locked out this morning has a great dog, a small-ish red-speckled cow dog. I grabbed a leash and ziploc bag of Milk Bones as I left my house, determined to keep that dog safe and bring him home with me, if he was still at the apartment. I made it clear to the deputy & to our handyman before we went up to the 2nd floor that they should stand back & I'd rescue my buddy, the dog, if he started barking when we knocked on the door. The deputy thought that was pretty cool; our handyman hadn't done a lock-out before so he wasn't sure what to expect. But, no one was there - no dog, no guy, just a lot of empty beer cans & liquor bottles, and containers of trash upon trash. Nita came -- her adrenaline has been pumping at least as much as mine has. I hollered down from the 2nd floor, "I didn't get a dog!" We both laughed & she said, "Too bad!" Well ... I have to send out a lease application but as soon as I do that, I'm turning off my job for the weekend! I'm going to treat myself to half an apple fritter and a fresh, hot cup of black coffee. I love you all! I'm keeping you in prayer, Mel!

Yesterday, DH drove, & we came to Sugar Grove, NC, where DD#2 rented a small place (1440 sq ft), with two grands. She had invited us & her DH had work.
Praying as severe weather is going on … Internet is spotty!
I had typed about the trip & weather, but then it blinked out! So, I’m attempting shorter info blips

Temperature here right now is 26 degrees and getting colder! Unable to sleep. Praying … Praying that the water & power stay on, as we are not prepared for however bad the winter storm could get! We are on a side of a mountain. Praying for safety from the winter storm raging outside, trees etc.
