That toilet seat lid is pretty wild. I've always heard of dogs drinking out of the commode, but it's never been any interest to any of our dogs over the years. It was a great day at the office. I like being a consultant, vs being a Realtor. Today was probably the hottest day we've had this year. It was 101 the last time I looked this afternoon, but it may have gone up another degree or two. We're supposed to have a cold front come in tonight. Tomorrow's high may only be 79, lol. Hope y'all get some good rest tonight! Sure hope I do too!

I have to go to bed. I wanted to sign-into my email address & send something before I do, - but - email is being difficult & telling me to try again in 10 minutes. :wacko I may give up & go to bed! Gorgeous outside tonight! That full moon is high in the sky; there are a few low clouds, with a lot of nighttime bluesky between them. There are some beautiful stars too. The wind is blowing, the way wind should blow in SW Oklahoma. The dogs didn't stay outside long ... the wind in the trees bothered them. They weren't 'quite' scared, but they haven't heard much of that noise all year so they don't seem too familiar with it. Poor dogs. See y'all tomorrow!

Good morning! It is 59 degrees and very cloudy here this morning. Our high temp for the day is only expected to be around 70. I have an early appointment for PT this morning, and after that I want to run a few quick errands and get a few things from the grocery store. Our local hospital and nursing homes are back to no visitors allowed because of Delta Covid despite the fact that local positive test numbers are supposedly way down. I can hardly believe that we have reached the last day of Summer already! Hope you all have a great day.

And in another of those news stories that seems like it should be satire but it isn't: Potty Trained Cows and Bovine Bathrooms Can Mitigate Climate ChangeWhen you potty train your children, you save them the embarrassment of having soiled clothes. When you potty train your pets, you save your carpets. When you potty train cows, however—yes, cows—you can help save the environment. So suggests a new study by scientists at New Zealand’s University of Auckland and, in Germany, the Research Institute for Farm Animal Biology (FBN), the Friedrich Loeffler Institute (FLI), and the University of Rostock. Published in the journal Current Biology, the study found cows can be trained to urinate in livestock latrines, where their waste can be easily collected and treated so as to reduce its environmental impact. www.treehugger.com/potty-train-cows-climate-change-study-5201931Words fail me.

Words fail me. Wow! I'm at a loss for what to say about that. ^^^ That sure does sound like satire. I mean, sure, it's better than not having beef cows around, but I don't really believe it's necessary to potty train our cattle. It's still a little windy here this morning. Only supposed to reach a high of 80. Can't hardly believe it's the last day of summer. I'm putting on a crockpot of turkey thighs and collard greens. Never had that before, but the recipe sounded & looked good. So we'll see how it turns out. That's great that you are healing so well, Mel! Hope things are going well for you and your family, Jeanette.

Can we not just leave God's creation alone, to live and function as He put the pieces together? Well, I guess we can - but only partly.

Hope you're all doing well this evening. We have just had the most delicious southern meal I may have ever made. Collard Greens with Turkey Thighs roasted all day in the crockpot. Oh, my goodness! That was pure tastiness! Edward ate his like soup ... I rolled mine up in a tortilla.

Good morning! It is a dark and rainy 69 degrees here this morning. Our area is once again under a flash flood watch for this afternoon through tomorrow afternoon. I have an appointment later this morning with my parents' lawyer to begin the process of wrapping up my Dad's estate. I can't believe that he has been gone for almost a year already, and Mom has been gone for six months.

Good morning! I love that hymn - I haven't sung it since I was a child. That's one of the ones we used to sing around the house when I was a little girl (like, probably under the age of 10).
It is hard to believe, Mel, that your Dad has been gone almost a year, and your Mom almost 6 months.
We've had nearly a 30 degree temperature change. Monday, it was probably 80 by this time of the morning, and we had a high of 101. This morning, it's 53 degrees, and may only reach 80 for a high today. The dogs didn't want to get up, but they've decided they're enjoying being outside since they went out.
I'm going grocery shopping, and hopefully to consign some items at the thrift shop. I have to check their items calendar.
Happy First Day of Fall!

Good morning ☀️ Thankfully Doing alright here
Sunday, DD#2 & her DH, myself, and my DH all made it home, thankful.
Monday DH mowed, weed whacked, cut some limbs & tall weeds down. Thankful he washed & detailed the auto I drive. (Grands had left lots of crumbs etc)
Tuesday We walked briefly while rain was lighter. DH worked on his expense report. He was able to get in for a belated dental cleaning in the late afternoon. DH arranged the guy who comes by to aerate, this upcoming Saturday.
I’ve been able to workout the past two days.

Hi, Jeanette! Happy to hear y'all made it home okay. Didn't make it to the thrift shop - they close too early in the day. But I am collecting up items to take out there. I have a towel warmer that's never been out of the box. It was a gift at Christmas probably around 2014 or 2015, maybe - ? Neither bathroom is large enough for that bulky item, so I'll be happy to sell it. I don't have a lot of big items, but that will hopefully be a good one. Can't believe I walked away from this before completing it. Poor window has been setting here open for over an hour. See y'all tomorrow! I'm ready for some sleep!

Good morning! It is very dark and raining hard here this morning. At 9 AM it is still like night time. Our high temperature today is only expected to be in the 60s. I was actually awake and dressed for more than an hour before May woke up and started meowing for her breakfast. That almost never happens. She usually wakes me in the morning. I'm hoping that the rain lets up some before I have to go out for my PT session later this morning. I had also hoped that we were done with the lawn mowing for this year (it is rare to have to mow here most years past early to mid September), but all the rain that we have had these last few days has got the grass really growing again.

Good morning! Sunny & cool here, just 61 at 9 a.m. Hope your rain lets up, Mel - y'all have had a lot of that stuff this summer. _______________________________ Here's a little example of the fear mongering going on locally. Top headline on today's front page: 1 in every 400 Oklahomans has died from COVID. That sounds terrible! The article that follows calls that a "grim statistic". The article tells you that nationwide, more than 650k Americans have died, making covid the 3rd leading cause of death. "...and you still have people that aren't getting the vaccine", said the Chief Covid Officer (whatever that title means) at Okla Unviersity. Nowhere in the article are we told just how many Oklahomans that 1-in-400 represents. So I googled the population of Oklahoma. In 2019 (pre-Covid days), our population was 3,957,000 people. I did the math to figure out the number that would be represented by 1-in-400. It's 9,892.5. Then I went looking for the number of deaths-attributed-to-covid. KOSU has a great 'fact page' of the latest covid info. They report that, using the number of state death certificates listing covid as cause of death, 9,893 people in Oklahoma had died from covid as of 9/21/2021. I had to google to find out what KOSU is - it's a local radio station in Stillwater, OK (where Okla State University is located). I'm not dismissing any of those deaths as unimportant in any way. I just wanted to know what percentage of the population that equals. Those 9,893 deaths = 0.25% of the total population. 1/4 of 1%. That's just fear-mongering deluxe. It's really dishonest journalism. _________________________________ I hope y'all have a wonderful day! I've made a bowl of coleslaw for dinner & I'm going to fry up a pound of hamburger for the Doritos casserole we're having tonight. And then I'm going to the office. See you later!

That's just fear-mongering deluxe. It's really dishonest journalism. And if they were being really honest and presenting all of the facts, more likely than not, quite a few (if not most) of the people in that 1/4 of 1% had other serious health issues that would have contributed to their deaths in addition to the virus. There is a big difference between dying from a virus and dying from something else with a virus in your system.
