Good evening. All’s well here. We’re driving with DD#4 & kiddos to DD#2’s home There are many entitled drivers out! :-X Zooming in & out around traffic!
Please pray as DS & wife, they are at the emergency vet hospital as her doggie’s leash broke & he ran in front of a car. It is also the same place we were at for when DS’s cat became so ill & didn’t come home. :-(

Thankfully latest grand doggie is ok. DS & DIL recently arrived back at their home after picking him up. Grateful for this answered to our prayer! Whew! Thanking God that dog is ok. It's been a nice day here. Weather was chilly, & windy, but the sun was beautiful. We spent a chunk of the late afternoon/early evening at DS & L's. The kids opened presents today. They received a fair amount, but not as overloaded as last year. It was great to spend time with them. I'm hoping we can do more of that in 2021. Hope y'all have fun at DD#2's, Jeanette. I luv that plate of cookies meme, Mel. I'm on the PC here in the office, but I had to stop what I was doing and walk up front to show that to Sweetie on my phone. He had a good laugh over it. I'm gonna save a copy & text it to DS on his lunch break tomorrow. It's ohn-ly 9:30, but I'm beat. I need to finish filling up the dishwasher and turn it on, and I want to check on the directions for filling up the crockpot with the corned beef roast & veggies in the morning so I can get it turned on, plus check the recipe for the sausage, egg, & cheese breakfast casserole I'm making. Y'know, I'm wanting to figure out "how early" do I need to get up in the morning. I love you all! I wish you each and all a wonderful day in the Lord tomorrow as you celebrate Christmas.

Hi, Mel, Jeanette, and Scott! Merry Christmas to each and all of you! We've had a quiet day at home. There were noisy coyotes nearby around sunrise this morning. They weren't as close as the ballfield across the street, but were probably in the pasture beyond it. There were at least 4, maybe 6 - I was trying to count their beautiful voices, & it was tough to do! I walked out back with the dogs & we all stopped in our tracks to listen to them. Neat thing was that Leela didn't act afraid. I think this is the 1st time in the 6 years we've had her that she didn't make a U-turn and head for the house at the 1st sound of a coyote, or at least run to stand behind me. I praised her for finding her courage! It's been a productive day. I've run a load of dishes & have put away all but the flatware. I'll run another load after dinner, I expect. The corned beef roast was fun getting into the crockpot. I managed to not make a mess anywhere in the kitchen. I was surprised the recipe called for cooking on High for 8-9 hours. I was right - that roast was fall apart-ready to eat right at 5 hrs. It's on the Warm setting now so it'll be fine. I also whipped up & baked a breakfast casserole that was delicious. We're adding that to our 'Keep' pile of recipes. It was breakfast sausage, white onion, half a colorful bell pepper, garlic, hash browns, cheddar cheese, eggs, half-'n-half, and some green onions. You can serve it with maple syrup, sour cream, or salsa. There's enough left over for tomorrow too. Right now, I'm taking a break from sorting out a bottom kitchen cabinet. It has a lot of pot lids that may not be needed. Not sure what pot one really antique-looking lid goes with. I'm all in favor of tossing out any that are not needed! We'll see how this ends up.

Mom and I had a quiet day at home with just the two of us. We made ham and pumpkin pie for our Christmas dinner. I checked in with some of our extended family and Sharon's family on Facebook.
Found out from my next to oldest niece that I am going to be a great uncle again in the new year.

Y'know, Edward's had pumpkin pie, but I haven't had anything with pumpkin in it this whole fall. I think I'll make some pumpkin-oat muffins this weekend. Put that muffin tin to work that Edward was teasing me about a little bit ago. That's pretty neat that you're going to be a great-uncle again! How many greats do you have now?

I enjoy your great-niece stories, Mel. Well, the dishwasher is running again, and I finished sorting out a bunch of pot lids that left me scratching my head. As it turned out, there are only 3 that apparently fit nothing. One is a big glass soup pot lid, I suppose. I have a 6-qt pot that matches my Revereware but I must have brought it back from my parents' house because I know I've never used it. It has a lid, and the big glass lid is too big for it anyway. I was about to throw away those lids, and a heavy-duty plastic salad bowl that's part of a trendy set from the 80s but it's been through the dishwasher so many times it's not quite round any more. Edward strongly suggested I put them somewhere till I know for sure they fit nothing! I assured him I'd tried them on all of the pots & skillets that I own, and they fit nothing, no-thing. But I found a place to set them in the garage for now. Hopefully Dollar General will have inexpensive shelf paper when I go by there tomorrow. I want to pull the old shelf liners and put in new. Get ready for spring as I go along!

Good evening on this Christmas Day!
DD#4 & kiddos came into our room early. Thankfully DH & they all went downstairs.
I was in what I’m calling a “sugar hangover” comatose state & couldn’t even open my eyes to be social at all. I’d been eating better for a few days, but yesterday I forgot & next thing we were headed to DD#2’s! Lots of sugary stuff, ordered in sandwiches, chili, sugary punch for the kiddos, etc! I definitely overate just about everything! 😋
I finally turned out the light around 1am.
Thankfully, Today, DH & DD#4 handled food. I came downstairs off & on. ‘Rested & recovered from the food choices last evening.
Thankfully I walked with a friend around 2:20 for an hour & half. It really felt good to be outside! We walked the business park nearby. Cold weather but gorgeous sunshine!
Thankfully, DS & wife stopped by while headed out to a Japanese Restruant to eat. Good visit.
Thankful for A surprise gift from DH, DD#1 & DD#4 was a hand made pine cover for the stove top. I’d been concerned what with a microwave above the range, that I may drop something out from the microwave onto the top of that there new range, which is glass type with burner underneath. Nice cover & totally unexpected!
Thankful the day is over, I’m just not a fan of holidays. I know from counseling years ago why & have learned coping techniques ... but they’re still challenging, even when focusing on the “reasons for each one!”
Merry Christmas & Good night to y’all!
