Good morning! Happy Holiday Monday! ... Labor Day has always seemed like a strange name for a day off. The dogs 'n I were out back at 7:15 this morning. It's cloudy but should clear up and be a mostly sunny day in the mid-90s. Wednesday's high is predicted to be 65. I'm going to text ds later this morning and kid him about grilling out today, before winter arrives tomorrow. He loves to grill and does it often. I put that pale blue blanket, the one that Fran was so worried about, back in its normal place and she slept on it all night. She had such a big grin on her face when she went to bed. I told her she'd be happy to have it washed!

I told her she'd be happy to have it washed! May has an old flannel jacket of my Dad's that she was always trying to steal to lay on. So when it got too worn out to wear, he cut off the buttons for safety sake and let her have it. Any time that I take it to be washed, she just sits in front of the washer and dryer and pouts until it is returned to the corner behind the couch where she usually naps on it.

( I edited out my rant - there are just so many ideas stacking up together these days & they represent the opposite of things I was taught to value. )
A couple of things stood out to me in the article: Well, let me put aggressively so they can get my opinion on this. "Grow. Up." Ok. Nothing passive aggressive about that, is there. Mm, yeh - I'm pretty much in this group. Why do we need to accept this nonsense? But, heh, it's been - is being - legitimized in a book.
Hoo, boy - punched my buttons, didn't it?!?

These animals are such a delight to have around. I just chased through the house with Franny & Leela, trying to stop them from going outside to bark at the neighbor's lawn crew. Franny listened and stopped short of going out the doggy door. But, Leela? I had to chase down that little scamp, turn her around, & order her to go inside with a firm "mom's in charge" voice and outstretched arm pointing to the back door.
Fran's under my work table; I'm not sure where Leela is - probably in the living room under Edward's desk.

Regarding the use of periods in texts. I'm old, I use it, get over it.

Regarding the use of periods in texts. I'm old, I use it, get over it. Me too. Some of my younger friends and relatives also think that it is ridiculous that I usually take the added fractions of a second to actually spell out words like "To", "For", and "You" instead of just typing "2", "4", and "U".

Some of my younger friends and relatives also think that it is ridiculous that I usually take the added fractions of a second to actually spell out words like "To", "For", and "You" instead of just typing "2", "4", and "U". Yes, I use punctuation at the end of sentences, as it applies. I rarely use 2, 4, or U. The one made-up short word I use when I'm texting with DS is "ur" for your. I'm usually saying, "ur dad", when I use it. He got me started on that, but even he doesn't use 2, 4, or U. He uses punctuation too. He had to work today; he texted me when he got off to say, "Iamma gonna throw some burgers on the grill tonight." I think it's so funny he'll write Iamma for I'm. We had leftovers for an early dinner this evening. We hadn't had lunch and Sweetie was talking having a bowl of cereal to hold him till dinner. That was just before 3:30. I thought dinner around 4 sounded better, especially since all I had to do was light the oven. I told Sweetie if he wants a little something around 8 this evening, then he might want a bowl of cereal.

Good morning! It is rather chilly here this morning, but the temperature this afternoon is expected to get back up to the upper 80s.

Good morning! I'd love to see if any of these dogs would tackle a pile of leaves like that dog does. There's a cool breeze this morning, but humid. Lots of crickets out here singing. I'm on the back patio with Leela, not that we're staying out here long.

We went over to Apt 1 this afternoon & boarded up some windows and the front door. I'll spare you the details. It was very slimy hot & humid. I took a second shower when we got home, which was wonderful! We ordered a pizza, and it was delicious! It's raining and windy, now, and the temperature is dropping. That cold front is on the way. I think I need a vacation. But not for the next few weeks - my goal is 2 years of spreadsheets a week, and I'll be finished by start of week 2 in October. That's a lot of work, but I think I can get it done. If you think about it, I'd really appreciate your prayers for tenacity and clarity of mind. Thanks - this project will move me way down the road to being able to sell the rentals. I love you guys!
