... ... I was looking at an email from Green Med that was encouraging writing your senators and representatives to demand health freedom for citizens and not to enforce mandatory vaccination with a vaccine that was rushed to market. There is also an article in that email about how wearing a mask does not supported by science. This .jpg was in the email as "something to think about". Gives new meaning to the term "Sheeple". No kidding. Edward has just solved a plumbing problem at our kitchen sink! He's my hero! (He knows that. ) We have to go to Home Depot in the morning for parts, but heh, I can wait. I have a 'clean the refrigerator' project that I've just started. I needed to take a break and find out what I need to set the oven on for baking a quick goody.

I came across a Youtube video today of a Hymn that I used to hear a lot in church as a kid that I haven't heard in years: Wow! I had never heard this hymn before. That man has a wonderful voice and those lyrics really put a smile on my face. I am so looking forward to Jesus' return! I went out about 7:30 this morning and cut shoots off of a mimosa stump in the side yard. It's really humid out there, with lots of brilliant sunshine. Gonna be a hot day! Happy Friday, to all of you! Praying it will be a great day for each and all of us!

May somehow got a pack of paper napkins out of the kitchen cupboard and began shredding them.
What a cat.

Busy day! Edward worked on the kitchen sink & the cold side works; the part for the hot side doesn't quite match up where it's supposed to set, so we'll have to take it back tomorrow. I grocery shopped & it was a wild & crazy adventure. There were more people out than I've seen since Christmas. <-- that was true at the commissary & at Wal-Mart. There was an undercurrent of chit-chat in both stores, the bottom line being that people think the country is going to shut down again because covid-19 cases are spiking and the virus is raging and things are terrible. - ?? - The gal who bagged my groceries & carried them out at the commissary was really not a good bagger. She didn't use paper, as I'd asked, and she put heavy things on lighter boxes so she crumpled some cardboard boxes - a box of fish, and a box of sausage links. She banged the dozen eggs against the Tahoe and said, "oh, oops! Here's your eggs!" and handed them to me. She was very animated, telling me at least this time, people aren't hoarding toilet paper. In her opinion, the military who hoarded t.p. should have been punished by the military. She went on to tell me how her family is all multi-racial and it was her 2 white grandfathers who taught her how to deal with that (her family is black, white, and asian). She also told me white people are the real minority and they're going to find that out soon. She kept hinting that blacks are taking over the country. I didn't agree or disagree. She told me all about how Iraqis and Iranians are God's chosen people because that area was the original Israel, and that area is really part of Africa so all of those people are God's People! She asked if I knew the Statue of Liberty was originally black? She said our government sent the first statue back because we didn't want a black lady to represent our country. She went right on without taking a breath to tell me how we need to change our constitution - and then she stopped in her tracks and looked at me, searched all over my face. I stood there smiling at her, wondering what she would say next. She said, "There's something in you! I don't know what it is - ? I don't think you're black ... but there's something in you. You're not light, pink, like most white people. You're darker than most white people, but I can't put my finger on why." Told her I couldn't say because I don't know! I tipped her - more than I would have had I known what a pitiful job she'd done packing my groceries - and told her I'd enjoyed our conversation. Can you believe all that? I felt like I'd been run over by an overweight, 30-yr old steamroller. So much of her information was wrong, but she was convinced it was all true. A year ago, that would have been humorous, and I might have thought she was a little mentally challenged, to say nothing of lacking some people skills. Today, tho', I'm thinking there are many, many like her - not nearly as smart as they think they are, and at least a little dangerous. ... I was happy to get away from there. The good thing - there were a number of price reductions on items at the commissary. One brand of canned dog food was $0.15/can less than it has been in over 6 months. The other brand I buy was down $0.03/can, which wasn't much, but I was happy to take it. I bought more cans than I'd planned, knowing the dogs will eat it and there's no telling how long the reduction will last! Cheese was slightly less; big bag of styro plates was down $0.78. Strange thing was that several items were missing that have been in stock all along. The worker stocking cheese told me they can't figure out what's going on because items they've had on hand all along are now the items that are missing. There were no XL or medium eggs today. I bought a dozen large. I'm tired this evening - still have to go back in the kitchen and wrap some meat for the freezer.

Good morning! I had a really busy day here yesterday. I took Dad to the cancer center to get his kidney infusion. He also had to get to 2 other appointments. In between appointments, I managed to get their grass mowed, and then last evening I mowed my own lawn. I would have liked to have left the grass mowing for today, but our weather forecast for the whole weekend is for heavy rain and storms both days. Now this morning I need to go to the grocery store for them and for me too. I imaging the store will be a mess this weekend with the way our governor and his toadies have been howling the last few days to bring back the shutdowns with even stricter rules than before because of the alleged Covid=19 spikes that have been reported in some other parts of the country.

The store was busier than usual for that time of the morning, but not as bad as I thought it might be. I was able to get everything that was on my list (and a few things that weren't ). They finally got in the new Caramel & Coconut Oreo cookies.
I was also able to get the sweetest juiciest Watermelon that I have come across in a long time which totally made my Mom's day. She just loves watermelon, but last year's local melon crop was not very good due to far too much rain which caused most the melons to swell and burst long before they were ripe enough to be picked, and the previous couple of years had been way too dry for good melons.
We are just at the very beginning of melon season here, but hopefully these excellent early melons bode well for this Summer's crop.

Lately, I keep thinking that the old sci-fi/comedy movie "Idiocracy" might just be coming true. Mmm, boy! You could be right! Happy to hear your grocery shopping went well! Those Oreo cookies look pretty good. You've heard the story about how the old Mayan calendar had been read wrong, haven't you? The new projected date for the end of the world is the end of this month. Well, it'll be okay.
You know, I'd never looked that closely at an Oreo cookie till I saw this online.

Personally, I don't give any more credence to the revised Mayan Apocalypse date than I did to the original one (in other words, none at all), but it would suit me just fine if this month did turn out to be the end of this current Church age.
Edit to add: Just for the sake of curiosity, I looked up the new Mayan Calendar interpretation and the new date was this past Sunday June 21. So there is another Doomsday come and gone without event.

We've had enough storms these last few weeks that she doesn't really pay too much attention to them any more unless there is a really unusually loud crack of thunder. Then she just looks annoyed.

Oh, yeh, I don't buy into any of those date-setting deals. I hadn't looked into the new Mayan calendar story, but ... hehehe
Happy to hear Miss May isn't typically bothered by the storms. Our grass is a little shaggy, but not too bad. I'm trying to hold off until after the 1st of the month. We have a breeze today, and no rain in the forecast for a few days, so I'm hoping everything will dry up. A 'dry July' would suit me to a T.
