May often steals tissues to play with, but this time she tried to make off with the whole box. You can see the moment when she realized that I was watching her and she suddenly lost interest in the box. Silly cat!

We saw something that doesn't happen too often. One of the neighbors held an outdoor wedding just up the street from us. That's not unusual. The event was mobbed. They had a DJ and all of the usual potentially noisy stuff. What was unusual was how quiet and respectful of the neighbors they were. Come 11 PM it was over and by midnight all of the tents and other stuff was gone. You would never know it happened! See! Some people still know how to act decently. Now those are some good neighbors! Hope the married couple has the opportunity to take a fun honeymoon & enjoy decades of happiness together. Good morning! At 11 AM it is already 96 degrees. This afternoon's high is forecast to possibly reach 110. The previous record high here for this date is 107 set in 1936.
Now that's some pretty wicked heat - especially in an area that rarely experiences it.
It's 92 at present here, and only forecast to reach 95. The humidity is low today, so it's not too bad out there.
Robert Jeffress's sermon was good this morning. It was an in-depth look at persecution, and how it's coming to America. We've discovered we have access to an interesting Science & Technology channel on cable these days. It has a lot of programs titled, "How It's Made." We've been catching some interesting info.

Made DH coffee & breakfast, before he headed off to get the battery in the auto checked, as nothing worked yesterday. Praying it is just a battery. Thankful it didnāt stop working while I drove last Saturday or Sunday as I didnāt have a phone to call DH or triple A then lol So, is your vehicle back up and running well, Jeanette? My Tahoe battery isn't charging in the least. It worked fine on Friday, wouldn't turn over yesterday. Sweetie tried charging it and nothing happened. We'll call roadside assistance in the morning to haul it over to Wal-Mart for a new battery.
Miss May is so cute, Mel. She looked like a kid caught with her hand in the cookie jar when she noticed you were watching her with that kleenex box.

Did your high today reach 110, Mel? We made it up to 98 or maybe 99. The humidity was lower so it wasn't bad outside. I kluged a couple of recipes together and fixed a pan of turkey enchiladas with a sour cream-green chili sauce. Pretty tasty. Edward took a call from a pollster a bit ago. She worked hard to convince that he needed to vote for members of the opposite party from who he's supporting. He kept telling her who he is voting for, told her he didn't believe the negative stories she was telling him had actually happened, told her he's supported that particular candidate for years, and yes, he is going to vote for that man, no matter what she said. He finally got her off the phone. I laughed all through the call. It was kind of weird - strange to have a pollster say things like, "Well did you know that candidate supported x-item?" "Does knowing that change your mind about him?"

Kitty is gone. He lasted more than 6 weeks beyond the time we thought he was passing. Those were good weeks for all of us including him.
No more pets for us. Losing them is so hard.

Did your high today reach 110, Mel? We made it up to 98 or maybe 99. The humidity was lower so it wasn't bad outside. The highest that I saw it was 100, but with the 86% humidity it felt even hotter. At 8:30 PM it is still 96 degrees and very humid. May has been spread out on the floor in the dining room in front of the window with the air conditioner for most of the afternoon and evening. It was kind of weird - strange to have a pollster say things like, "Well did you know that candidate supported x-item?" "Does knowing that change your mind about him?" He should have told them: "Yeah, makes me want to vote for him even more."

Well, in some locales, if you wore this: Certain people might threaten to hurt you, or at least demand you take it off in their establishment.
Well, okay, then I'd put on the mask of my response:
No kidding - I would luv, luv, luv to buy one of these masks, but they're a little pricey. (btw: I googled it, and in popular American culture, putz refers to a fool, a jerk. In hardcore Yiddish, it's vulgar. If it bothers anyone, let me know and I'll remove it. My late in-laws were Polish, but used an awful lot of Yiddish words.)

Happy Monday! It's warm out - about 80, but only supposed to reach the mid-90s today, if the weather person is right. Poor Leela came to bed without her collar last night. That was unusual. We looked all over the house but didn't find it. Didn't find it in the backyard this morning. I finally opened the front door and there was her pink collar, almost under the gate to the front yard. She was frantic when she saw it - tried climbing up the front of me, 'talking'. Couldn't hardly wait for me to slip it over her head. All's right with her world again - she's happily snoozing with her head in the closet. I had weird dreams last night, but slept pretty good. Hoping this good mood I got up with will last all day. Here's wishing you each and all great Monday!

Ahahahaha That automatic cat feeder is great! At 8:30 this morning, my liberal-hating 'friend' in VA started text messaging me nonstop about corruption re: anything covid-19 related. I was barely commenting back so she kept ramping up her game. Heh, I can't change her. She's just super negative, and gets most of her news from FOX News. She told me I'd know so much more if I'd just watch FOX News! I finally shut her down for the time being, I think. Told her, "I'm not going to worry about it. I have other things to do today. I got up in a great mood this morning & I don't want to let go of that mood. Hehe" I haven't heard a peep out of her in an hour. Okay, we've had a terrific lunch, which included avocado and some Manchego sheep's milk cheese (which I luv, luv, luv). That cheese has a distinctive flavor and it's kind of hard & dry. But, in my mouth, it kind of reminds me of butter. See y'all later. Stay cool today!
