Good morning! Another chilly morning, but in the high 50s today. It is predicted we'll reach the low 90s today. Hi, Jeanette! Thanks for the good wishes about Ge'dogg. We did not go to Ollie's yesterday. The line to get in was long. We just chuckled and moved on to the next errand. We'll check them out when the "new" wears off in a couple of weeks. I see Gov Wolf is throwing a temper tantrum over the legislature overturning his lockdown order - stomping his feet all the way to court. I'm really surprised any place is still shut down. The Comanche Nation casinos are reopening here tomorrow. Most restaurants here are still only drive-through or curbside pickup. I'm not sure what the holdup is on reopening dining rooms. The city employees are being furloughed tomorrow - there's not enough $$ to pay salary & wages, so this is the plan probably for the rest of the year. However, they discovered with last month's furlough that residents were furious about trash collection not happening. It was announced on the news this morning that regular trash collections will occur tomorrow & the landfill will be open! Power to the people!

Our cats brought us wounded, but living, field mice. We were supposed to be so pleased! I loved each of those cats! Very entertaining! If you are so inclined, please pray for son Michael. He has a job interview this afternoon for a position that he really wants, and we are in agreement with him that it will be a better deal than the position he's working in now (same place, just a real uptick in pay, hours, atmosphere in that section he would be moving to).

Under the PA Constitution, the General Assembly (that is the two houses of the state Legislature together) can end any emergency declaration issued by the Governor by a simple majority vote in both houses, but Wolf is trying to use a very questionable interpretation of some of the fine print in another unrelated section of the Constitution to try and get around that.
He really doesn't have a leg to stand on legally; but on the other hand, 5 of the 7 Justices currently serving on the PA Supreme Court are extreme liberals to put it mildly, so this could still go in his favor.

I've been on the phone this morning with no luck -- . The Solid Waste Division of the City has their answering system turned on. Finally got to a point I could leave a message for one of the employees. Her message said that their phones are down today. She sounded soooo apologetic. I sent them a message through the city's website. They were supposed to deliver 2 trashcarts to my tenants in the 2-BR triplex ~ and ~ remove the nasty overflowing dumpster that no one is paying for. Dumpster has been removed; trashcarts have not been delivered. Where are my folks supposed to put their garbage?!? I sent a text to the tenant who notified me to toss her bags in another nearby dumpster for today. <-- funny thing, I could think that through myself; why can't my tenants?
And I'm having a tough time with a home warranty company that can't seem to find someone to repair a leaking kitchen sink & nonoperable garbage disposal.
Yeh, it's noon by now. Sweetie has floor duty from 1:30-6 today. I had planned to grocery shop earlier so I'd be back before he left - and it was a great plan, except for interferences as noted. Don't want Ge' home alone so I'll grocery shop tomorrow morning. Only thing I really wanted before then were avocados. Oh well. It'll be okay.

And in another case of unneeded political correctness, the Country Music Group "Lady Antebellum" is dropping the "racially insensitive" word "Antebellum" from their name and apologizing for all the hurt it has caused. That's ridiculous. This self-flagellation nonsense has really gotten old. I want to say so many things that are so politically incorrect these days ... Okay, 3 pm and I still don't have my workorders assigned by the home warranty company; and I still have 2 sets of tenants with no place to put their garbage. Sure feels like a Friday! Happy it's not!

Did you see where that one Antifa group took over six square blocks in Seattle Washington a few days ago and declared it a police free zone? It seems that they are now calling for help because Seattle's homeless population stole all their food and basically robbed them blind in the absence of the police. Who would have thought: You get rid of the police and you get a crime wave.

Did you see they're asking for vegan food items? I wonder if that was a serious post? I nearly spit out my iced tea on that post. I more or less watched Tucker Carlson this evening. He interviewed some news journalist who lives in Seattle. He asked about the conditions inside Chaz (great name, isn't it? I realize it's an acronym, but nonetheless, pathetic, imo). The news journalist flat out said they hadn't been able to go inside the area. Other journalists he knows have gone in & walked around, but as soon as they expressed any opinion that didn't agree with the people in Chaz, they were being assaulted, roughed up, run out of the area. Tucker acted surprised. He pointed out that the mayor of Seattle is acting as if this is perfectly normal & acceptable. Tucker asked him if he was saying it's crime-ridden? (or something like that). The journalist said the mayor wants them to say it's "Peace-challenged." Tucker Carlson busted up laughing, he couldn't help himself.

The 18-year-old activist appears to be a transgender woman and a self-described “lesbian anarchist,” according to her now-private Twitter account. The activist tweeted Wednesday that CHAZ had invited homeless people into the zone, who promptly stole all of their food.
