Good morning! We had torrential downpours and heavy thunderstorms and high winds off & on all night. These poor dogs & I didn't get a lot of sleep. The Old Farmer's Almanac explains the arrival this way: Spring arrives tonight at 11:50 p.m. EDT. I'm hoping the grass will dry fast because I'll have to find someone to mow.

That's great to hear your grocery store is getting stocked up again! Wal-Mart & Aldis here had a long way to go when I was there yesterday. Maybe things will improve all over. Got a ways to go before everything snaps back, however ... Goodyear, the 2nd largest employer here, has shut down all North American manufacturing operations temporarily, citing reduced demand for tires. Not sure how that will affect this town.

Our Governor has backed off somewhat on the closing of the truck stops after getting a bunch of bad press from both the truckers unions and the businesses that rely on the truckers to get their stores restocked, but only some of the stops (13 out of 35) are going to be reopened, and their public restrooms will remain closed with porta potties being set up in the parking lots. How he figures that those are less of a sanitary risk than an actual restroom that could be cleaned several times a day is beyond me.

Yay! Whoo-hoo! A New AG/ND for Spring! Great Idea, Mel! Heading off to the office ... moving many things today, since the sun is out & it's not raining.

Happy to hear the truckers won't be parking on the roadsides, Mel. At least this is safer ... porta potties, what a hoot.

I've almost made it through the week without cussing. See y'all later. I've almost made it through seven minutes! You make me smile, Scott! Happy Friday, y'all! Cold & windy here this morning. Happy our north-facing wood fence is still standing. <-- that wind was brutal, all night! Had a great phone call yesterday afternoon. Quay, the young man who passed away in February, has a brother who is calling Quay's customers to see if he can mow or do other work for them. He's picking up the business. We each acknowledged "This is tough", but we'll all keep moving forward. Y'all have a great Friday!

We bought a new shop vac this afternoon. Sweetie went all through that thought process of replacing the filter in either of our 2 old ones. He bought replacements this morning, held them up to the space in each vac (1 is 16 gal & the other is a 10 gal) & nope, they weren't likely to fit, even tho' they were supposed to. We agreed - old vacs are going in the shed for a future sale and we headed to the Ace hardware store where we returned the 2 unopened filters & picked out a new 12 gal vac. DS, L & the kids returned home this evening. Happy to have them back in town. They had gone shopping on Saturday before heading to the NE so they do have some amount of food at home. He seems to be taking this pretty well. Said the small town they were in was conducting business like usual & the Wal-Mart there had as much on the shelves as he's ever seen. He's expecting a trickle down effect to the small towns this coming week. Think I'll round up the dogs & head to bed shortly. I'm looking for a low-carb lemon cookie recipe first tho'. Sweetie was craving lemon cookies after dinner this evening. If I find a good recipe, we can both enjoy them! Nite, y'all! I love you guys!
