Y'know, I don't understand the push to "test as many people as possible" for C-19. If a person isn't showing symptoms, why would they go get tested? What are 'they' wanting? At risk of sounding snarky, I would guess that they need to test more people because the ones that have been tested so far just aren't supporting the official media narrative of hundreds of millions of infections with tens of millions of upcoming deaths.

At risk of sounding snarky, I would guess that they need to test more people because the ones that have been tested so far just aren't supporting the official media narrative of hundreds of millions of infections with tens of millions of upcoming deaths. You could be right about that! If the test is sensitive enough to pick up people who've had it - and it was so mild, they didn't even feel discomfort (true asymptomatics) - that could add some people, still maybe not hundreds of millions ... and if they're feeling pretty good, they're still not likely to turn into tens of millions of deaths. ... unless people are slipped a deadly mickey somehow in the testing process. I don't like the idea that people in ICU on ventilators can't have a family member who can be there with them, asking questions, meeting with the nursing staff & doctors. My late husband was on a ventilator for a couple of weeks or a little more and I could be there any time I wanted to be there for as long as I wanted to stay. Admittedly, he had stomach cancer that had metasticized (sp) throughout his internal organs; he wasn't contagious. Of course, I'm not convinced C-19 is THAT contagious.

One of my friends recently made a mostly tongue in cheek comment to me to the effect of: "Not counting accidents, has anyone officially died of anything other than Covid-19 lately?"

Good morning! It looks like it is going to be a dark, chilly, rainy day here today. I didn't sleep very well last night. I kept thinking about how today would have been Sharon's 60th birthday. I miss her so much right now; but at the same time, I am kind of glad that she isn't here to have to deal with all this virus madness. She definitely wouldn't handle the stay at home social distancing stuff very well. I've always been very much an introvert when it comes to interacting with people in person. Sharon on the other hand was always extremely social and outgoing even with people she just met. She was the kind of person who "never met a stranger" as the old saying goes.

Our Governor has now announced today that all schools in PA will now remain closed for the rest of the current school year.
Some schools here have been making home school materials available to their students these last few weeks and some haven't.
It is not yet clear if some or all students will be required to repeat their current grades next year or if some sort of Summer make up term will be used (assuming that the stay at home orders are eased up by Summer. The schools will however continue to provide school lunches for students that qualify on a "pickup to go" basis.

This weather is crazy. We are under a high wind warning this afternoon with 40mph gusts likely. Thunder storms and hail are also likely for this evening.
Then tonight the temperature is supposed to drop to around 30 with heavy frost expected for tomorrow morning.

Our kids have been out of school since March 13th, first day of spring break. It's not known how they'll get the all back in class & caught up here either.

I am a tired, sleepy girl who is about to go to bed. I didn't sleep well last night, and I don't even know why. The coldfront is stalled to the north of us, so it was warm & steamy this afternoon, into the low 70s. If the freeze line moves south, we could see snow flurries over the weekend. I'd love it! Just a sight to see. The ground is too warm for anything to stick. I grocery-shopped at the commissary, which is around 60% back to normal. Still a couple of rows of nothing, and then some areas of big gaps on the shelves in other rows. I wore my good N95 face mask, and it really does seal well. After that, I sat down for a break in the Tahoe - bridge of my nose was hurting from the mask so I thought I'd give it a few minutes' rest, and drink a bottle of water. I was pretty thirsty. I ran down through posts on my facebook newsfeed and found a past customer from 10 years ago was having a tough day. She suffers multiple auto-immune disorders and has a fair amount of pain. Her husband is 100% but he works for a company that hires disabled people who can still work to some degree. He was at work today; she was having a painful day & was exhausted at home. She was practically screaming to the world that she needed some things. I got a hold of her on facebook & offered to help. It wasn't hard - she wanted some fruits, OJ, and salad greens. I was going to Wal-Mart to see if I could finish my store list so I picked up her items while I gathered up the remainder of what was on my list. I found everything between the 2 stores except a jar of Simply Jif peanut butter. The really great thing at Wal-Mart was they had Manchego sheep cheese. We love it - and it's the best cheese for my blood type. The price was the lowest I've ever seen so I bought 2 chunks of it. It's our Sunday brunch treat to go with our eggs, sausage or bacon, and avocado halves. Also found the Coriciden HBP I've been looking for. I swung over to her house when I left Wal-Mart. It was kind of funny - we were both masked when we met in front of her house. We agreed we didn't want to give each other any germs! We also agreed that when this is over, we're going out somewhere for coffee and a good chat! Tomorrow is MikeJ's Friday to pay bills so I'll pick him up in the morning. DS had a conniption fit over that - insisted I make him wash up to his elbows and wear a mask before I let him in the Tahoe - after all, he works at a convenience store & you never know who he might come in contact with! Yes, I know! I plan to take clorox wipes and Lysol with me tomorrow - I'll sanitize the Tahoe before and after I drive him around, plus I already have hand sanitizer on board. Y'never know, he may spend a large portion of is night cleaning and sanitizing at the store, and he may be required to wear a mask to wait on customers anyway, plus all the stores now have sneeze guards at the point of transaction so ... we'll see. I'm off to bed ... I'm really tired and hope to sleep sound tonight. Stress doesn't much bother me in the daytime, it's the middle of the night that it gets to me when it does.
