Good morning! It is a cold 34 degree morning here.
I tried to get groceries for myself and my parents last evening, but item availability at the store was in the worst shape that I've seen it so far. Apparently, the Governor's announcement yesterday about the schools staying closed and his suggestion that the stay at home orders could remain in place until sometime in June set off the worst round yet of panic buying and hoarding. I could almost believe that he is deliberately trying to keep people in a state of panic for some insane reason.

It has been snowing hard here for the last couple of hours with lots of wind too. Nothing is laying on the ground so far, but viability is terrible. At times I can hardly see the house next door. It's funny, because this past Winter here set the records for both the lowest total Winter snowfall in more than 100 years and the lowest ever total Winter accumulation for as long as records have been kept for our area dating back to before the Revolutionary War.

Those are cute, Mel! It was chilly this morning, barely 40 degrees. I slept great last night so was up 'n at 'em this morning. MikeJ is doing well - the convenience stores have closed since the curfew started (11 p.m. - 5 a.m.), so his hours have changed. He's working 4:30 a.m. till 10:30 a.m. Don't know about your governor, Mel ... maybe he's been hanging around with Ohio & VA's governors. They sound pretty goofy any time they speak. Our governor has stood tough and runs this state similarly to the way Trump runs the country. I don't plan to hoard anything, but I will beef up some of the items we use and have on hand. Hopefully will put us in a better shape if this happens again in the next few years. Sweetie just headed for the office - he's on floor duty until 6 p.m. I'm turning on music and doing some sorting and filing. See y'all later!

Good morning! Happy to hear you're mending well, Scott! Congratulations on 35 years of marriage! Attachment DeletedWhat happened with your snow, Mel? Did any of it stick around? Chilly here last night & this morning. The heat finally cut on around 9:30, so it was down to 69 degrees in the house. The dogs had all been outside to bark & romp around and were dozing around the living room, so I shut the doggy door for about an hour. No need to waste the natural gas! Our electric company expects their customers' bills to drop about $9-$12 in May because they're adjusting the fuel cost. The company we have car insurance with is crediting back 20% of 2 month's car insurance due to reduced claims. Heh, whatever it amounts to, I'll be happy to have it. Really thankful I was able to grocery shop on Thursday. A friend reported she was at Wal-Mart just prior to the 7 a.m. open this morning and the line wrapped all the way around to the back of the building. She stayed & waited. When she finally got inside, the pickings were slim. Y'all have a great day! Cold or not, I have to get busy filling up that trashcart to put at the curb Monday night. That's like a game at present in this house. Sweetie's back is hurting today; not sure why, so I'm not asking him for much help, of course. He needs to chill.

What happened with your snow, Mel? Did any of it stick around? No, the ground was still warm enough from the previous couple of days that none of the snow laid on the ground. It just blew around in the air and messed with visibility for a couple of hours. As soon as it stopped coming down, you would not have known that it even snowed.

We had a pretty scary storm a bit ago. So thankful - the worst of it passed through in a 1-mi wide line with the north edge a half-mile south of us. The hail was up to tennis ball sized, there were high winds, and blinding rain. The storm moved from about 12 miles west of us and it's still moving east, but it's finally at the far edge of our SW Oklahoma area. In spite of the energy that storm was packing, it doesn't look like there was property damage with it - thankfully. We're still expecting some snow flurries on Tuesday, and we'll be down around freezing temperatures. The high on Tuesday will only be 48 degrees. Sounds like a good day to cook up a pot of soup, stew, or chili. Hope you all are well and safe tonight. See you tomorrow! Attachment Deleted

Robert Jeffress' sermon this morning was terrific. The title was, "If Jesus is Still Dead, So What?" He preached out of I Corinthians 15, primarily, to make the case that Christianity hangs on the accuracy of Jesus' resurrection in human form from the dead. I've read through that chapter before & found it confusing, but now I know what it's talking about. Truly uplifting sermon. We had a wave of storms and heavy rain in the middle of the night. Chicken dogs huddled up on me and I didn't sleep much for a couple of hours. I finally got up and walked around the house and they sorted themselves out while I did that. The storm was moving to the NE and they could tell it was going away, I guess. When I got back into bed, Franny got off the bed and laid on a doggy blanket; Leela relaxed and stretched out so she was no longer head butting my chest; and Ge'dogg moved to 'his spot' on the corner of the foot of the bed. I was sound asleep immediately and didn't wake up till L texted me an Easter greeting. I'm really looking forward to all of us being able to get out and do something together - we've missed celebrating 4 birthdays as a family, plus now Easter dinner. With school being closed, we're missing activities the grands would have been in. Yes, we're all doing pretty well with this plan-demic, I think, but it's a nuisance. Hope you're all doing well today!
