Ha! Our boys had super soakers but we didn't have problems like that (they knew better!). Luv those cats in the boxes. It was 25 degrees at 8 a.m., and the little bit of water in the deep end of the old pool was frozen in beautiful patterns. It's up to 44 now, at 1 p.m. Might reach 50 this afternoon, but even if it does, I doubt it will feel like 50. Back to working the sewer line replacement project. The plumbing crew is on-site, but the buried fiber optics cable is in the way, which requires a special piece of equipment. That bumped up the repair price to the owner. But, I've spoken with the owner and he understands, so we're proceeding. I'm hoping that's the last change request and they can get this done by 5 p.m. tomorrow. Otherwise, I've worked a plain ol' clogged sewer line at a duplex and it's real ho-hum compared to the 1st project. Really hoping the rest of the day is super quiet! I'm sorting out my clothes closet - getting out actual winter clothing and moving the summer items. Around here, you never know if there will be enough winter to make it worthwhile, but I think this may be a pretty cold winter. Hope you each and all have a terrific Tuesday!

It's been a relatively productive day. I sorted through 2 closets; started a bag of items to donate for the homeless. I moved around some canned goods - I'm making a bag or two for the food bank. I figure all these charitable programs will have low stocks on hand since yesterday was Christmas. They collected a lot over the last 6 weeks I know, but they also reported high levels of support in the community. I want to get a good start on the new year! I'm hoping the weather is nicer on Friday so I can get out to the collection boxes on Ft. Sill. I have lots of cardboard to take to the post recycle point too. Our beef roast quesadillas were tasty. I heated up a can of refried beans to go with them. We had a small, pretty nice dinner. I have some laundry left to finish up. I'm hoping to turn out the lights before 11 tonight. I'm really hoping not to have any bad dreams. There were several last night, but I only remember a couple of snippets - nothing that really makes sense. I woke up in the wee hours believing the furnace was out - it was on and blowing air, but all I could feel was cold. (It probably had just cut on.) I went into a panic. Turned the thermostat from 70 down to 68 (it said it was 69 in the house which is why, in looking back on it this morning, I think the furnace had just kicked on when I was freaking out from whatever I'd been dreaming); the furnace went off and I went back to bed. It wasn't uncomfortable in the house when I got up just after sunrise, but I turned the thermostat up a couple of degrees just to prove to myself that the system was working. Thankfully, it is. Hope you're all doing well, post-Christmas.

Good morning, it's 38 degrees wit a slightly lower windchill. The humidity is 65% so it feels like there's some moisture in the air. The weather team was chucking at 8 a.m. about how we may have snow flurries in the morning. They're hoping that will be a pretty sight, if it actually happens, which they aren't sure about. It certainly does not feel like a Wednesday. I may have to work a couple of weeks to get my head on straight about day of the week and time of day. I've got to get these dogs fed - Franny is here dozing next to my work table, but I can hear Milo & Nikki romping around in the hall. Leela is probably back to sleep in the bedroom. Hope y'all have have a great mid-week!

It's still raining this evening. I did manage to get the trash set out at the curb without getting soaked too badly. I almost forgot that I needed to set out the trash this evening. Usually Tuesday is trash night, but this week it is a day later because of the Holiday on Monday. It certainly does not feel like a Wednesday. I may have to work a couple of weeks to get my head on straight about day of the week and time of day.

The rain seems to be stopping at last, but now it looks like it is going to be very foggy tonight. I'm working on putting together a Walmart shopping list for tomorrow. After that, I am probably going to turn in early tonight. Good night!

Good morning! It is 49 degrees but very dark and cloudy here this morning. I had a restless night last night with a lot of very disturbing dreams - real Apocalyptic end of the world type stuff. I did my grocery shopping this morning at Walmart. They seem to be pretty well restocked after the Holiday rush. There was only one item on my list that wasn't in stock - Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies. Oh well. I probably shouldn't have those anyway. Hope you are all doing well today!

Good morning, Mel! Good morning, Jeanette! It's up to 38 degrees with lots of brilliant sunshine. The expected snow flurries didn't make it this far south. It might have been sleeting a little bit, just before 5 a.m., but I'm really not sure 'what' I was hearing. Leela had to go potty, and Nikki thought that was a good idea too, so between the 2 of them, they woke me from a sound sleep. I knew they were serious so we headed out in the front courtyard. I could hear something falling but I couldn't see anything, so who knows. I luv that horse with the handicapped sign! Around here, I wouldn't be surprised to see that out at the lake or see golf carts with handicapped signs out there around the little stores at the RV parks. One of the brokers we worked for a few years back just lost his mother-in-law. She was 97 years old. She was a grand old lady. Edward & I really enjoyed visiting with her when her daughter would bring her by the real estate office. She was a staunch conservative - and highly opinionated, but always pleasant. I may go grocery shopping tomorrow morning, not sure yet. It will be interesting to see if the grocery stores have restocked around here. Military payday is probably tomorrow - since the 1st is a holiday, so I expect Wal-Mart, and maybe the commissary too, to be packed with shoppers. I'll go early, if I go tomorrow so maybe it won't be too bad. Well, I've got to get the electricity turned on at a couple of houses and inspect a couple of apartments before lunchtime so I'll see y'all later! Hope everyone has a good afternoon, in spite of whatever the weather is.
