Edward just got up from a nap. He was up at 5 a.m. with Franny - she needed to go outside & her heavy breathing woke him up. He hadn't been back to sleep till he laid down for a nap about an hour ago. Franny is napping in the office floor - she's been up & outside several times this afternoon, enjoying the sunshine. Leela, Milo, and Nikki have played out quite a bit. One or another, they'll briefly run inside & check on us. I'm sure they want to be sure they aren't missing out on anything going on inside.

Love those cat cheer leaders! Hope you don't have too much snow, Mel. Between the snow and the wind, we had a real zero visability white out - for about 5 minutes- and then it was all over. The Sun is out and shining bright now, and the temperature is warming up again. The next 5 days are all forecast to be in the upper 60s and 70s and then more cold weather next weekend.

That duel at noon on the 1st day of daylight savings time cracked me up! We didn't do too bad with the time change .... but we'll see how tomorrow morning goes when I have to go back to work. I have a Sheriff's lockout at 10 a.m.; two tenants I have to submit workorders for because their refrigerators aren't working; and then I need to get to work on updating our files with Section 8. Sooo, I'm heading to bed as soon as I post this. The dogs wanted to go back outside & play for a few minutes, which they usually do before settling down for the night. I had to laugh - told them they'd started a little too late at that this evening. I have to agree tho' - it's hard to believe it's 11:30 already! Our high wind advisory has been extended through Monday night. Praying your roofs stay firmly attached to your houses; your trees stay rooted to the ground; and your privacy fences keep standing at attention. Sleep well!

Good morning! It is 36 degrees and very windy here this morning with a wind chill of 26. This is definitely not the warmer weather that was in the forecast for today. I had some errands that I wanted to run this morning, but I think that I will wait and see if it warms up this afternoon.

Good morning! It's a sunny 53 degrees - & feels cold. Sheriff's lockout was smooth. Tenant moved out the last couple of nights. I'll be doing paperwork, I hope-staying inside out of the wind, lol. Hope y'all have a great day.

This wind is wild. My big outdoor trash bin that I use for yard waste went sailing. It didn't get past the fence at the opposite side of the yard, but I still haven't found where the lid got to. I think that I am going to put off my errand running until tomorrow. Edit to add: The lid came back when the wind changed directions.

A pitcher full of pasta wouldn't be considered wrong - at my house, we grab whatever fits the item that needs fitted. It's not always the typical container. That sounds like Oklahoma wind, Mel. Here, the weather team has a graphic chart & they predict what'll happen to your trashcart based on expected windspeed.

Ok, I am wiped out. We put Franny down this afternoon.
It all went smoothly. As sad as I am, it was time & that was the right thing to do. They loaded her back in the Tahoe & we took her home so Leela, Milo, & Nikki could see she was gone & say their good byes.
We had to hurry back to the vet's before they closed. They're sending her out to be cremated. We should have her back in about 3 weeks.

Thanks, Jeanette. Thanks, Mel. We went to a fantastic Asian restaurant after we took Franny back to the vet. We hadn't eaten since breakfast, we were hungry, and we thought it would do us good to sit down and chill with some good food. We ordered bul-go-gi and an order of tofu prepared like bul-go-gi. Nita & her DH ate there about a week ago, and that's what they'd ordered. She said it was sooo good! And, boy, was she right! We each had a bowl of rice and shared the set ups that went with the meals - kimchi, seasoned fish cakes, bean sprouts, cucumber chunks, fresh broccoli florets, shredded daikon radish, & more. <-- We've decided this is the next meal we need to learn to make! Between our skills at cutting up and quick-pickling some of the set ups, and picking up a few more at one of the Asian food stores, all we really need to do is check out my old international cookbook for a bul-go-gi recipe & maybe google the tofu recipe. I think we can pull it off. I skipped tonight's HOA meeting. Just didn't think I was in the right frame of mind. It was 7:30 when we got home. I jumped in and threw away an old quilt I gave the dogs 20 yrs ago because it never 'quite' comes clean when washed, a well-worn and chewed on twin blanket, and the desert night comforter that my late-DH brought back from Desert Storm. It never really seemed to fit into our style, or something so over the years it turned into a wonderful, thick & warm doggy bed. It's over 30 years old and probably dry-rotted. Milo loved it, when he first arrived, and chewed on one end of it so the stuffings had come out of that part. It jut seemed time to let those things go. I tossed the 2 small flannel blankets Franny had laid on in the back of the Tahoe this afternoon into the washing machine - after Leela, Milo, & Nikki thoroughly inspected every square centimeter - along with Leela's red plush throw and Nikki's green stripey blanket, both of which were on the waterbed. It just strikes me as a good time to freshen up the house. This is just the beginning. But all that's enough for tonight. I hope you're all doing well this evening. Soon as I watch the news, I'm going to bed. I need the rest!

Good morning! I don't remember what I was dreaming about last night, but I woke up thinking "Wow! that was weird". The wild wind that we had for the last three days finally stopped. It is a warm and sunny 50 degrees here this morning. By this afternoon we are predicted to have a high of around 70, and the rest of the week is forecast to have beautiful Spring-like weather. I got a good start this morning on the errands that I had originally intended to do yesterday. So far, I have been to the pharmacy and the bank. I still want to pick up a few things from Walmart later this morning. Today marks two years since my leg was amputated. I am so thankful for how well I have been able to adjust and get back to a (mostly) normal quality of life. Praying for all needs today. Hope that you all have a blessed day!
