Busy Monday, lol Great meeting with the roofing contractor. Apparently red shingles are no longer popular. House out in the mountains is a southwest style - faux stucco finish with red-white speckled blend on the shingles. It took some looking on the contractor's part to find a brown with a red cast to it. It's hickory & looks like it's a warm, rich color. I texted the picture to the tenants & they like it too.

My favorite news story of the day: On a road trip to promote electric vehicles, the US Energy Secretary and her entourage couldn't find enough electric vehicle chargersWhen the US Secretary of Energy and her team embarked on a road trip to promote electric vehicles, they ran into a predictable yet frustrating obstacle: a lack of electric vehicle chargers. Indeed, there are only about three electric vehicle charging ports for every 10,000 people in the United States, Insider reported in April. The scarcity of chargers was such an issue for Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and her team that the police got involved at one point, NPR reported. The caravan of electric vehicles heading from Charlotte to Memphis over the course of four days hit a snag in Grovestown, Georgia. The group was planning a quick charge when they realized there wouldn't be enough electric vehicle chargers to go around since one was broken and the others were in use, NPR reported. So an employee from the Department of Energy tried to save one of the spots using a gas-powered car. It was a sweltering day and the move didn't go over well with a family that was also waiting for a charging spot. The situation escalated to the point that the family, driving with a baby in their car, called the police, who didn't have the authority to act because blocking an EV charging spot with a gas-power car isn't illegal in Georgia, NPR reported. While Granholm and her team worked to smooth things over, ultimately ceding a spot to the family and relegating some of their own vehicles to slower charging ports, the incident drew attention to the desperate need for improved EV infrastructure. www.yahoo.com/autos/ev-road-trip-promote-green-200423954.htmlAnd these are the cars that they want everyone to switch to!

I had Macaroni and Cheese for dinner. First time that I've had that in ages.

Good morning! It's 66 and heavily overcast. Not sure if we'll have showers off and on today or not. The forecast is unclear. We might have had an electrical storm overnight. Something knocked out power out briefly. I slept through it, whatever "it" was. Got up in the middle of the night & noticed the clock on top of the chest was flashing. All of the electrical clocks were flashing when I got up this morning. The one that is least sensitive & usually resets itself had gobbledlygook on the screen so the power was off at least long enough to confuse that clock. I need to be at work a couple hours early today so we can go inspect houses. The AT&T fiber guy hasn't shown up yet, but he should be here anytime now. We have to vote today. There's a council race in 2 wards, but not ours. I am, however, praying the citizens of that one ward do not vote in the witch! She's all out, in your face, and telling everyone how accomplished she is as a witch! We don't need her in city govt. We also have a community improvement issue to vote on - $60 million in new taxes on a bill that has no expiration date. You can guess how this household is voting! Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

Good morning! It's 67 at 9 a.m. It's overcast, but looks like the sun is trying to come out. Temperature may reach 80 this afternoon. We're taking little Leela to get her shots & a heartworm test this morning. Hope y'all have a great Wednesday! Oh, yeh, that ridiculous $60 million community improvement program bill passed by 41 votes. Voter turnout was pitiful - only 2,391 votes total were counted on that proposal. If we had a city government here that had any financial sense and was made up of people with personal integrity, the whole place would run better. There's a run-off election in November for one of the wards that was electing a council member. At least the witch did not make the run-off. She received 13% of the vote in her ward. Thankful for that!

I needed to get some prescriptions refilled at the pharmacy today.
While I was out and about, I decided to get lunch at Arby's. I tried their new "Big Game" burger. It was really tasty, but I thought that it was a bit small for the price compared to their other sandwiches.

While I was out and about, I decided to get lunch at Arby's. I tried their new "Big Game" burger. It was really tasty, but I thought that it was a bit small for the price compared to their other sandwiches. I haven't heard of that one yet ... is it tasty, even if on the small side? ______________________________________________
Ok, I had to look up the Arby's menu to see one of those "Big Game" burgers. It's 34% Venison, 33% Elk, and 33% Ground Beef Blend. Wow! That sounds like it would have a rich flavor. I like all 3, but not sure I want them in a ground up blend. Was the dark cherry steak sauce tasty?
Well, I just ran through the nutrition information on various items I like at Arby's, and I think I'll seriously have to limit what I eat there. ... I'll be skipping the Reuben, the gyros, & the French dip & Swiss, and sticking to the old standard Classic Roast Beef and Classic Beef & Cheddar. Good thing is, we don't go to Arby's often, and I do like those 2 roast beef sandwiches.
I need to get some sleep -it may rain off 'n on all night. Hope it's not noisy enough to bother the dogs.
See y'all tomorrow!

Good morning! It is 59 degrees here this morning with a forecast high for today only in the mid 70s. I thought that the meat blend in the burger had a really good taste. I couldn't really taste the sauce much as it was overpowered by the pickles and fried onions. I liked it, but I doubt that I would get it again. I enjoy trying new things, but I think that my favorite Arby's sandwich by far is still the beef and cheddar. Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning, Jeanette! Good morning, Mel! It's a rainy morning - and we've had enough to make big puddles. More to come as the day goes on, but it doesn't look like it's going to storm. It's 67 now, and predicted to reach 76 by late afternoon. How about that Hurricane Lee - with storm warnings all the way to Bar Harbor! Wow! The beef and cheddar is my favorite Arby's sandwich too. I usually try their new sandwiches, but then I usually roll my eyes because the price was high and the sandwich didn't deliver. The owners of our favorite Thai restaurant are back from vacation so we had dinner at their place yesterday. They were both all smiles - said the vacation was wonderful, but they were happy to be back home and back to cooking. Their restaurant is small but they have a pretty good following. We're having a quick turkey divan for dinner tonight. Milo is pestering Franny to wake up and get up so I'll feed them breakfast. She's woofed at him to "get lost!" He may have gone back outside, not sure. Leela is in here in the office, snoozing. This is not her favorite kind of weather, for sure. Hope y'all have a terrific Thursday.
