Office politics around here are just . I can always tell when my office mate has pulled some stunt because of her body language, lack of eye contact, & the briefest of greetings. Yknow, I have to chuckle, on one hand. I'd like to throw a book her direction on the other hand. This behavior creates stress where there otherwise would be none.

Great idea, Mel! -- both the foam bricks and Grandpa's Computer Repair Shop! I need this, to build my own border wall! It could go right between my desk & hers, I could even use these blocks to split the doorway! She flipped a 180 while I was out to run some errands, about an hour after I started work. I came back and she turned into Chatty Cathy. You'd have thought we were best friends! She couldn't stop talking and giggling. She usually works 9-2, but today she stayed till after 3. I typically work from noon-5. We each work for one of the partners and our individual jobs have next-to-nothing to do with each other.
I'm not sure what was behind her goofiness this afternoon, but it certainly left me that much more convinced she was up to something today. Well, I'm happy to be home! Gonna have a peaceful evening with the world tuned out.

We had a peaceful, quiet, but fun, type of evening. I fixed that Quick Chicken Divan, using 2 large turkey cutlets. It was a great dinner - it came together quick & easy, and was delicious. I'll make that again. Besides that, we discovered we'd cleaned & sorted enough this week to fully fill up the trashcart - Edward dragged it to the street & it was heavy to move. I don't know what we'd thrown out that was heavy. Besides that, I've put up some clean laundry & clean dishes. It's nice to get things done around the house. Edward put the new rabies tags on Fran's and Leela's collars. I told them their new jewelry was so pretty! and made a big fuss over each of them. They ate up that attention. Poor Milo, kept racing around the room, either trying to make me ooh & aah over him or figure out why I wasn't. I gave him a big hug and told him we'll get him some new jewelry in a couple of weeks! Well, I need to walk these dogs outside one more time, and then go to bed. I'm sleepy, because it's getting late, but I'm not feeling worn out - like I have more evenings than not this summer. Hope we all sleep well tonight!

Good morning! It's a humid 70 degrees this morning. We may have some rain off 'n on today, but not a big deal. The high might reach 80. I've decided my ideal fall would be filled with days cool enough that I don't need to run the AC & warm enough that I don't need to turn on the heat. From October 1 - December 1. Hope you each & all have a great Friday ... and peaceful start to the Jewish New Year at sundown.

I saw an ad for a local Japanese restaurant advertising vegan sushi.

Our weather here stayed fairly cool all day. Our overnight low is forecast to be in the mid 40s. It is only 9 PM, but I'm feeling very sleepy this evening. I think that I am going to turn in early tonight. Good night!

I think that I am going to turn in early tonight. In the mid 40s?!?!? Wow, wow, wow!!! If we had that weather here, people wouldn't know what to do with it! This is so bad, it's funny! And this guy, Bob, who brought "the map" - the cartoonist really was over the top in drawing ol' Bob's expression. Hope you get a good night's sleep, Mel. Hope we all do. I'm getting a pack of turkey tenderloins ready to marinate overnight. The tenderloins are thawed, I just need to mix up the marinade and put them together. See y'all tomorrow!

Good morning! It is a brisk 48 degrees here this morning. I resisted the urge to turn on the furnace last night since this cold snap is only expected to last for one day, but I did put on an extra blanket. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Good morning! It's 68 and dreary outside. There's no wind. That's sooo odd. It may reach the mid-80s this afternoon. Mel, that 'visitors' who come through the doggy door unexpectedly really cracked me up. I had to put that on my facebook page. The dogs & I went out back around 11:30 last night, which is typical. Mm, boy, there were about 6 coyotes on the move - yipping and fighting, running our direction from the sound of it, and they were close. They were probably on the top end of the ballfield, right across from our backyard. Milo instantly went into high-adrenaline mode and raced to the privacy fence. Little Leela, who's always been terrified of coyotes - if she simply heard one yip or howl far away she was running for the great indoors - well, Milo has changed her. She raced for the far corner of the yard, making little excited yipping noises. It all happened fast & took me by surprise. I started calling them to come back in the house, NOW!. They didn't listen. It took a few minutes to get their attention and finally, Leela came trotting with her head down ( mode). Milo took a cue from her and headed toward the backdoor too. He hesitated - was going to loop back to the fence but I called his name, adding a firm "No!" He snapped out of it and came in. I closed the exterior doggy door, which I don't usually do. Set a heavy bucket of plaster in front of it. We came on in & closed the inside doggy door, which we always do at night. They all had trouble settling down to sleep, including Franny who hadn't gone outside. Whew! I know - we have the wood privacy fence, but it's old. It's unlikely unwanted critters could or would come in the backyard, but no guarantee. I'll admit - the experience scared me. On a lighter note, hehe, it will probably be a day of football watching around here for Edward. I'm going out to buy some senior dog food for Fran & Leela - Leela needs to lose a little weight. Plus I want to drop of a lot of cardboard and newspaper at the recycle point, and a bag of clothes for the homeless people. The turkey tenderloins will be ready around 4 so the house should smell delicious all afternoon. Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday.
