Good morning! It is a very dark and foggy 66 degree morning here. Our high for today is only expected to be in the mid 80s with rain and storms likely later today. Last night I was dreaming that I got a new puppy. I really miss having a pet around, but I'm just not able to take proper care of one right now with all of my health issues. And if I ever do get another pet, it probably wouldn't be a dog even though I love dogs; because my yard is pretty small, and there is really no good place around here in the downtown area to walk it. At least I still get to play with the pets of my friends and relatives now and then. I also dreamed about being in Walmart and trying to hide from someone (I'm not sure who) that was after me. The Sept 23 date setters that have been spamming the one Bible prophecy discussion group that I am in on Facebook are now being challenged by another group of date setters that are sure that it will really be Sept 15/16 which is the Feast of Trumpets this year. I was going to take a vacation from that group and a few others, but the arguments between the equally misguided groups of date setters is getting to be entertaining. Hope you are all having a great day!

Good morning! It's 76, heading for a high of 107. The record high for today is 104, so we're expecting to "crush that!" as the morning member of the weather team said. After today, there are no 100-degree temps expected through Sept 17th. We'll see if fall is really coming in. This morning started out with all kinds of financial help pouring in, starting at 7:30 a.m. straight up. The first was a detailed call (from Ft. Riley - this was not a scam) on how I can straighten up my military retirement (getting that all processed has been a mess - due to the lockdowns and due to the non-helpfulness of the reserve unit in California that is supposed to be working with this state) and secondly, from the contractor who'll be doing the new roof on the garage & house out in the mountains. I'm nearly speechless, but what popped into my head was, "When God sends help, don't miss it!" I'm feeling pretty joy-filled at the moment, choked up with happy tears & relief!

Is it wrong to laugh at those people? I can't help it - that would be entertaining to follow. And what are they all going to say if neither date holds true? Neither will be able to say, "Told you so!" Oh, those poor people! The fact that scripture says it's not for any man to know the date or time oughta stop them in their tracks, but apparently not. Has anyone asked them about Matthew 24:36-44, and if so, how have they answered? Yeh, I'd wish you an old, lovable cat for a pet, Mel. One who'd take to you and you'd be happy to take in, one that didn't need a lot of activity around the house but was happy to spend its senior days purring at your side while you're relaxing in the evenings. A Realtor friend ended up with a cat like that - the sellers left it behind when they sold their house & moved away. She wasn't really wanting a cat, and it was pretty grumpy to begin with - probably had to get over the betrayal of its original owners - but it finally adapted to her house & was comfortable. She hadn't even wanted a cat - she had a little wiener dog & a son who was about 7 at the time, had just been through a miserable divorce, and was working 2 jobs: civil service and real estate. But she didn't have the heart to call animal control to come pick it up. That dream involving Walmart sounded like an action-adventure scene. Too bad you don't remember the whole dream. Well, I've gotta get moving - need to round up the keys of several empty properties so Nita & I can go inspecting this afternoon. We probably won't see many, but we'll get to the new ones people have just moved out of. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Has anyone asked them about Matthew 24:36-44, and if so, how have they answered? That passage has been brought up many times. The arguments that the different date setters use to get around Matthew 24:36-44 and related verses get pretty convoluted, but for the most part they all boil down into some variation of one of these two things (or a combination of both): 1. "No man knows" only applies (according to the date setters) to unsaved men. or 2. Jesus said that "No man knows" not that "No man will ever know". As for what they will say if/when those dates come and go, past experience from previous false predictions by these same people suggests that they will most likely just disappear from the group for a while only to return in a few weeks or months with new dates which they are absolutely sure of and will claim that those new dates are what they always said and the rest of us just misunderstood.

Wow! That crowd is just as deluded as many others - saved & unsaved - in this day & age.

I had the first root beer float that I have had in ages! I know that I shouldn't have all that sugar, but it was so good!

Good morning! I didn't sleep too well last night - lots of thunder, lightning, and wind. It rained hard for most of the night, and now this morning it is very foggy. It is 68 degrees now, and our high for today is only expected to be around 80. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Good morning! It's a balmy 85 degrees at 11 a.m. Heading for the mid-90s this afternoon. Fall cleaning and paperwork are the subjects of this weekend. I didn't sleep good last night either, Mel ... weird dreams, and I drank too much water before I went to bed so had to get up a couple of times. And then I woke up well before dawn and I was c-o-l-d, cold! Uncomfortably so. I tried to tell the dogs I was coming right back to bed - as soon as I turned off the AC (don't know why it had kicked on - it really shouldn't have read as that warm in the house ), and pulled a blanket out of the hall closet. Leela decided to nap in the office for the rest of the early morning, but Milo came back to bed once I added the blanket and got comfortably covered up. I went back to sleep for awhile, happily. I felt much better the next time I woke up. We had an odd phone call around 8 this morning. A lady left a voicemail asking about a rental we have listed at - and she couldn't quite pronounce the street, but it didn't sound like anything around here. Under her phone # on my cell screen it read, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Well, people's phones are so portable these days, she could be over here on the eastside, having breakfast at one of the hotels. I called her back. I asked her to spell that street name because I didn't recognize anything close. She did - nope, no street here. She spelled the next one - sounded like a French word. Nope, not a street here either. The last one was Dehaviland, and we have no street by that name here either. I asked what town these streets are supposed to be located in? She sounded a little exasperated. Said, "Toronto!" Couldn't help it, I laughed and told her that somehow, she'd called Lawton, Oklahoma! She busted up laughing too, wondering how on earth that happened! She started apologizing for bothering me. I told her I was happy I'd called her back, this was fun and I hoped she finds a great rental! She laughed, thanked me and wished me a great weekend. Hope you each and all have a great Saturday!

PSA: If your laundry room has baked in the heat this summer check your laundry pods container before sticking your hand inside. A couple of pods may have exploded in the heat. Yeh, they probably didn't actually explode, but a couple must have leaked because I was at the bottom of the container & the last few pods were really sticky. There's a line of blue gel around the inside edge of the container. I'm gonna swish a little warm water around inside the container & pour it into the washer. No need to waste any of that goo. Our young Corporal, who's coming to a school at Ft Sill for 6 months, is arriving this afternoon. He told me yesterday it's an 11-hr drive from Mississippi; he expected to arrive around 6:30 today. He must be driving 100 mph tho' because he just called to say he'll be here around 4:30-4:45. Told him to call me & I'll meet him at the duplex with his lease & key. He also has a wife, a 4-yr old, and a 1-yr old set of twins who will probably be arriving next month. And a little coal-black french bulldog. We've had a really quiet Saturday here, so far. Sleeping dogs lying around where it's cool. Sweetie took a nap because he was wide awake too early this morning. He's watching college football now. I'm doing laundry & sorting through emails ... clipping some recipes - we'll be having a quick, cheesy chicken divan for dinner tomorrow night. Hope you're all having a great Saturday!

Well, our poor Corporal is currently brokedown in Sunset, TX. That's about an hour and a half from here. He's driving a truck his FIL loaned him. He had to put a lot of his money into it to get it roadworthy. By the time he figured out what a problem the truck was, he couldn't get a flight into Oklahoma. He needs to report in for school on Monday, as far as I know. He sounds like a pretty good mechanic so I hope he can get whatever he needs to get back on the road. I asked him to update me as the evening goes on.
