Good morning, Jeanette! Good morning, Mel! It was 36 at 8 a.m. with a windchill of 30. I've been out back with the dogs twice since about 7:30 and it's not too bad, even tho' it's chilly. Only supposed to reach the low 60s today, and colder tomorrow. Good Morning, America did a segment on tornado damage in Mississippi this morning. That's the first I've seen and it was pretty shocking. Whole blocks looked like they were covered in kindling. 3 ladies who survived in a restaurant were interviewed. One of them was the owner/manager I think. The other 2 may have been employees - I walked into the room in the middle of the story so I missed some tie-ins at the start of the interview. It was really shocking to see - I don't know how you rebuild from that, or even how you manage to stay there in the meantime. Well ... praying everyone here has a safe start to the week.

Just a PSA to retailers of every sort: Making fun of "Boomers", or making negative comments as if those born between 1946 & 1964 are lacking intelligence or are somehow 'less than' people who are younger, will assure that I will not be purchasing from your store. ___________________________ I'd love to send out something like that. We have a furniture/mattress store doing that, and now a 'cash-back' grocery app. I already know that grocery app won't make me any cashback money so no benefit to loading that on my phone. Rubbing baby boomers' noses in the lack of supposed good sense for not using that app doubly does no good. If anything, I'm laughing at them because I've already checked into their app a couple of years ago, but I'm groaning because of the disrespect shown in their commercial where a middle-aged woman berates someone who she's either caring for or who is an older family member - I didn't pay attention before the sound of jingling coins made me look at the TV. /okay, rant over. Today's society frustrates me in so many ways.

Good morning! It's up to 42 right now, but only expected to reach the high 50s today. It's sunny and really windy. That dog was pretty funny with the 4 sticks of butter. Poor dog oughta have terrible diarrhea from eating 2 sticks of butter. The 3 dogs at this house don't have to steal butter - they're all "Daddy's Butter Babies" who get a little dab of butter when Sweetie butters his toast for breakfast. They'll stand around & wait their turns. Milo will sit like a statue, he's so calm. There was a mowing crew across the street this morning, mowing the ball field. The dogs started to bark at them, but must have decided it wasn't worth the effort because they came inside & hung around instead, staring at me like I should 'do something'. I told them to hold on & those people wouldn't be over there very long. I'm sneezing from all the 'stuff' they stirred up in the air. Mmm, boy, it is spring! I have a mower coming to give me an estimate on Thursday morning. I hope he's still reasonable. He's mowed for us the past couple of years.

Love that rabbit lawn mower. My grass hasn't grown much so far this year, but the yard will soon need to be mowed because of all of the stalks of wild garlic that are popping up everywhere. My back yard isn't very big. I wonder what it would cost to have the whole thing paved like a big patio. Maybe I could leave one strip of exposed dirt along the one side for a small garden.

I went to one of our local Italian restaurants for supper this evening. I had lasagna and a cannoli for dessert.

The lasagna & cannoli sound yummy, Mel! (Lasagna is one of those things I like, but only in very small amounts because it doesn't like me. ) I've never had cannoli, but several friends in the past have talked about their family's versions extensively. That meme is excellent! And so true. No southerner would ever drive recklessly with Grandma in the car and especially not with very important items like the biscuits & the tea ... and especially not with a crockpot on her lap.

We had a fantastic dinner, and Edward gets the credit - he did the work. He cut up & roasted fresh yellow potatoes in a garlic sauce. To go with that, he fried a black angus bubba burger for each of us, surrounded by fresh onions. The onions fried up nicely. He also thinly sliced a cucumber and some more onion and added them to a mix of oil & vinegar. He let those marinate in the refrigerator and we ate them as a side dish. We were so pleased with the way it all came together. A friend recommended Juan Valdez instant coffee so I picked up a jar at Wal-Mart late this afternoon. I think I'll take it to work and open it there. I have a jar of Nescafe there and I don't care for it. There's some leftover coffee in the kitchen and I think I'll heat up a cup of it for now. And eat a brownie too before I go to bed.

Good morning. It's 42 at present, heading toward the upper 60s this afternoon. The wind is almost calm this morning, unlike yesterday morning, so it feels pretty nice outside.
