Meh, considering there are so many things that are wrong with that campaign poster I don't see any humor in it. I should stop there. I'd rather think on something edifying. Philippians 4:8, that's what I need tonight. Mel ~DH laughed & liked the campaign poster & there’s quite a collection of them on the internet! It’s an acquired taste of guy humor, I’m sure. First glance, I liked it as fitting re those two individuals possibly running, as well as all the strange & upside down clown world we’re living in, but then I was like convicted in my spirit (?) that for me it wasn’t edifying to repeat. I am sorry for any offence that I caused with that meme. I have since removed it. To me, it was funny not because of the subject matter but as a matter of irony re our current political landscape. Sort of a laugh to keep from crying type of thing. It blows my mind that I actually do know several folks who honestly seem to believe that Biden, Fetterman, and the like are the greatest thing to ever happen to US politics. I've even been told more than once by people who I would otherwise consider highly intelligent that Biden's obvious dementia and Fetterman's clear mental impairment are nothing more than fake propaganda spread by Trump and MAGA to undermine the US government. And these people really seem to believe that. .

Mel ~ praying for your prayer requests re extended family members, continuing
Barb ~ yes, we’re headed off to grandson’s soccer game, possibly granddaughter’s game afterwards. Grandsons is on turf, granddaughter’s field was too soggy last week. We had thunderstorms roll through during the early morning hrs.
DH arrived yesterday afternoon from Chicago & I picked him up from the airport. So confusing!
I. Absolutely. Hate. The. Charlotte Douglas International Airport!
There is always construction & massive amounts of confusion & people being :-X
Afterwards, the auto needed gasoline desperately, then I turned the driving over to my DH!
We still had a gift card for Texas Roadhouse & went there for a late lunch/early dinner. This really helped me to distress from the airport fiasco!
We watched an old movie last night that was entertaining, “Kelly’s Hero’s”, 1970! So many younger, famous actors!
May you all have a blessed day!

Mel ~ no offense taken & agree the need for a laugh amidst the absurdity of everything !
Yep! the short we saw today was just like as you described folks who think that the ones who appear to be in these positions are well “not Trump”! That’s all the claim to fame, as the country is destroyed :-X

And these people really seem to believe that. . Thanks for taking it down, Mel. I had such mixed feelings - we have a high number of suicides in this county (may have been highest in the state in 2021 - not something I want to be known for), and you know there has to be a mental issue involved for someone to take their own life. As property managers, we see a lot of mental issues - in the homeless vets we help get off the streets, in the recovering addicts we have in some units, and all of the domestic assault & abuse issues that crop up. And while I saw humor in that poster just for the 2 mentioned in it, then it bugged me because I believe at least one of those guys is a criminal who should be prosecuted and neither is fit to hold office. I do agree with you, Jeanette - nothing comes to mind in regards to Phil 4:8 when I think of issues with our current national, or local city , government. But I ran through that list and several things came to mind with home, family, positive things we'd gotten done at work that day ... and I went to bed in a pretty good mood because I know God's in charge of everything and everyone (even the people he allows to commit suicide, or batter their wives, or hold elected office). You floored me, Mel, with your last paragraph! Oklahoma is a red state, even with some blue elements attempting to make inroads. Even those few around here who originally supported Biden are now running from their friends who might throw it back up in their faces. I haven't heard anyone locally say this is propaganda by pro-Trump/MAGA people. Wow! I can see how truly deluded folks could say that, but it's sad. People still amaze me - Your "laugh to keep from crying" comment certainly makes a lot of sense! - Big hug to all of us.

I don't think that I've heard them called b-dubs before. I'm not really fond of chicken, but I do like the brisket burgers from Buffalo Wild Wings' sister company Wild Burger. Buffalo Wild Wings had a tough time hanging on here, during plan-demic days. They were shutdown like most places and then slowly opened back up with curbside service, then delivery, and finally inside service. People who frequent them like the indoor atmosphere, I think - it's almost a sports bar here. We went there a couple of times early after they'd first opened up, a few years back, but it really was more suited to a younger crowd so not our preference. They seem to be doing pretty well again - their parking lot is usually full whenever I happen to drive by. That brisket burger sounds delicious! We don't have a Wild Burger here. I looked on B-Dubs local menu and they have a smoked brisket burger that looks really good. You can add fried onions to it - and I would. We have a Texas Roadhouse here too, Jeanette, and we like it. We stop occasionally if we're on the west side of town and it's getting a little late to fix dinner at home. They have a 6-oz sirloin that I get with a salad and potato. And, of course, the fresh-roasted peanuts are plentiful and we eat some of those while we're waiting.

Sharon used to like to stop at the Texas Road House here just to get one of their Blooming Onions.

We used to get Blooming Onions at Outback. That was a pretty good place for dinner years back. We haven't been there in a long time - there's usually a waiting list to be seated & it's gotten really pricey since it opened back up.
A restaurant I miss from the 70s & early 80s is Steak and Ale. There wasn't one here in Lawton, but in NE Ohio and major cities I traveled to around the country on business and vacations.

Singer Aretha Franklin was born on this date in 1942. Here's a good quote from her: That was in today's email from 1440 Daily Digest, one of those "all the news that is news, without any particular bias or spin" productions. Later: It turned into a beautiful afternoon ... warmed up around 3:30 p.m., which was nice. No idea what our high temperature was, but it's still 65 at 7:30 so probably up close to 70. We had a kettle of Goya Black Bean soup for dinner. Instead of using 2 cans of Goya Black Bean Soup in the mix, I used 1 Black Bean Soup and 1 can of white kidney beans. Added a couple handfuls of frozen okra, and used most of a quart of beef bone broth for the broth. It was mild but savory. Hope you're all doing well this evening.

Y'know, I had planned to go to the grocery store this afternoon, but I did some cleaning and decided to treat my scalp to a warm, foaming oil shower. It felt fantastic! And now, I'm so sleepy that I'm going to put on a load of laundry & take a nap! I'll run down to Braum's afterwhile & see if they have any good avocados - that's the only thing I really need for tomorrow. Edward baked a pan of brownies and they're cooling on the kitchen counter. The whole house smells chocolatey. Later: Well, didn't get that nap after all. (tenant issues came up & I had to answer the phone) Hope you're all having a great Sunday afternoon!

‘Morning Everyone As usual busy weekend with grands etc
Two soccer games on Saturday with the weather being colder, like the beginning of last week. However it became hotter as the day went on! The sun was brutal!
The granddaughter’s soccer field was at a park that was hosting a fun day & food trucks. I walked her two brothers to a snow cone truck & bought the kiddos snow cones. Granddaughter really appreciated hers, as by the time we walked back to her field the game was just about over & the snow cone hadn’t melted too much.
Then we headed to DD#3’s house, stopped for gasoline & ordered food for us four adults from a good little place to take to their home. The parents had ordered pizza for their kiddos.
We ate a late lunch/early dinner, once we arrived.
DD#3 mentioned a movie that came out, and I told them the three adults could go & I’d watch the grands. No trouble, as kiddos were all unwinding with their tablets etc.
Granddaughter & I played some Yahtzee, she also painted my nails. Each one a different color, including the toes. Smiling as I think what a sight my nails were for church yesterday. I painted her one hand, as she paints the other just fine.
Yesterday, church & DH was gonna play volleyball but the weather cancelled that. Instead we went to our go to place, by the range, for another late lunch, and then target shooting.
Afterwards, we visited DD#2 & grands. Took grandson out to his favorite snow cone place & my DH & I went to the Brusters there for ice cream.
Granddaughter didnt wanted to get herself together to go out. Ahh, teenagers smiling
Anyway I kicked a soccer ball around with grandson, walked around a little outside, as the weather had turned pleasant once more.
DH & DD#2 loaded up a couple of outdoor things that she didn’t want anymore. One may hold cushions for us, as I bring them inside the house from the deck. Critters like to use them, so the cushions stay outside. The other is a table.
Once home, I went to the post to drop mail off, stopped by the pharmacy which was closed at 6, it was after 7. I really need to read texts when they come in about pickup. lol
Decided to watch another old movie, The Dirty Dozen, & fast forwarded one scene. The old movies usually didn’t show as much as today’s movies re violence etc.
Today, I’ll get to church & assist getting more craft prep work done for Sunday’s school teachers for at least the week after Easter.
Plus chores around here: home paperwork, DH has to get some more info to the accountant, stop by the pharmacy, finish writing out Easter cards, maybe more physical work like laundry etc. lol
May you all have a blessed day/week! Grouphug
