What a day! The heat index at 5 pm was 108 while the air temp was only 94. The moisture in the air is brutal.
The section 8 inspection was a bust. The general contractor only finished about half of the repairs he needed to do. The cleaning lady told Nita the mildew in the refrigerator was 'some kind of blue ink' & didn't clean it up. Baloney! The gas company totally messed up on getting to the house to turn on the gas - I had 2 different employees give me 2 different stories & we had no gas today. Of course, I sent the plumber over there to make sure all the gas items were correctly connected on Friday and light pilots. Why didn't I get a call from the plumbing co owner on Friday letting me know the gas wasn't on? I could have called the gas co and been all over them about it and we'd have had gas by 1 o'clock this afternoon. I called the plumber & the owner personally came in the middle of the inspection to look at the situation. I hope he read his employees the riot act this afternoon. So, we'll try it all again in a few days.
The gas co employee I spoke with this afternoon was very apologetic and assured me we'll get a call 30 min in advance tomorrow to meet the technician and we will get the gas turned on. So, I'll be up & ready to go out the door by 8 a.m. in the morning, waiting on the call.
Nita & I worked toward an estimate on some storm damages for the remainder of the afternoon and finally closed up and left about 4:30.
I laid down for an hour-long nap when I got home and loved every second of it.
Hope you all have a great night!
