Just have to add the latest in political hoo-ha over this anti-meat movement. This article was cited in the Tracking Bible Prophecy Headlines thread dated 9/23/2019 (Monday of this week). Dems Cook 10,500 Steaks While Lecturing Americans About Eating Less Meatfreebeacon.com/politics/dems-cook-10500-steaks-while-lecturing-americans-about-eating-less-meat/amp/?__twitter_impression=true&fbclid=IwAR3wxf5GCFaAY0-RiKfu6Ec7AJrdY73mAEy93vxthjpGX7G7fJDb3HUz5Iw The Democratic candidates for the 2020 Presidential election were attending the Iowa Polk County Democratic Party's annual steak fry will be grilling 10,500 steaks and 1,000 vegan burgers on 10 grills, during Saturday's event. Some of the candidates will grill steaks themselves. This event either happened last Saturday, or will be occurring this Saturday - couldn't quite tell from reading the article. Here's what some of the candidates think & say ... Kamala Harris' bad grammar is apparently the way she said it because that's what appears in the article. Why would anyone even halfway in their right mind, let alone the average citizen, consider voting for these people?

I sincerely hope this idea does not take hold in the UK, and pray even more so that God will not allow the idea to flow over into the US or any North American country. Eating meat could be banned like smoking, says top barrister, as he calls for new crime of 'ecocide'www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2019/09/22/eating-meat-could-banned-like-smoking-says-top-barrister-calls/This lawyer in the UK is mounting a campaign to ban the consumption of meat, apparently, and to come up with a crime termed "ecocide" for meateaters. Can you believe that? I pray more and more often that the rapture will occur sooner rather than later. As it turns out, the international crime of ecocide was originally proposed in 1970 by the American biologist Arthur Galston. This UK barrister added this at present:

NYC Gets Its First Vegan Christmas Market
New York City’s first annual Vegan Christmas Market will take place at 342 W. 37th Street in Manhattan from November 30 to December 1. Visitors can expect a variety of gifts and goods from vendors from NYC and neighboring areas, including skincare care products, cosmetics, baked goods, dairy-free fine cheeses, chocolates, savory foods, fashion items such as handbags, jewelry, winter coats, and more. “We want to invite the public to do their shopping in a manner that underlines the true essence of the holidays, which is a celebration of peace, love, and compassion for all beings, both humans and animals,” event creator and organizer An Pham said. While admission is free, VIP tickets ($8) will include early entry to the market and a beanie embroidered with a green leaf logo.

And just to show how far the meatless craziness can go, PETA is pushing to have pet owners switch their cats and dogs to a vegan diet. Some people wonder if it’s “unnatural” to omit meat from the diet of dogs and cats. But to feed them the meat that they would naturally eat, you would have to serve them whole mice or birds or allow them to hunt for themselves, an option that would be unfair to native species of birds and other small animals, since companion cats and dogs have been removed from the food chain and have advantages that free-roaming animals lack. www.peta.org/living/animal-companions/vegetarian-cats-dogs/

"the true essence of the holidays, which is a celebration of peace, love, and compassion for all beings, both humans and animals”
The purpose of the Christmas holiday is not this, if it is indeed a Christian holiday. This is a "feel-good-within-yourself shop-vegan-til-you-drop" event. I expect the products being sold will be pretty pricey.

PUB CHAIN BREWDOG BLENDS VEGAN BEYOND BURGER WITH REAL BEEF This week, Scotland-based craft brewery and pub chain BrewDog unveiled its newest menu item: The Hybrid Burger. The burger is made with 50 percent beef and 50 percent vegan Beyond Burger, comes with topped vegan gouda cheese and crispy onion straws, and is served on matcha tea buns. “Fifty percent less meat; 100 percent delicious,” BrewDog described the burger on Twitter, which led to mass confusion amongst its followers. Commenters questioned BrewDog’s intention with the burger—which it says is to serve a growing “flexitarian” population—stating that blending vegan meat with beef and then topping it with vegan cheese does not serve any justifiable purpose. “You’ve managed to put off both carnivores and vegans simultaneously with this monstrosity. Oh, how gross can it get?!? "Monstrosity" is a very accurate description, surely.

Impossible Burger Becomes No. 1 Item Sold at Grocery Stores
(BUSINESS WIRE)--Impossible Burger debuted on store shelves earlier this month, immediately becoming the No. 1 product sold at some of America’s favorite grocery stores -- and remaining the top performer ever since.
Impossible Burger is the award-winning, plant-based meat sold in more than 17,000 restaurants nationwide. The flagship product from Impossible Foods made its worldwide debut in grocery stores Sept. 20 at all outlets of Gelson’s Markets in Southern California.
Since its Sept. 20 debut, Impossible Burger has remained the No. 1 packaged item at Gelson’s 27-unit chain. Since its launch, Gelson’s has sold more Impossible Burger than all types of ground beef from cows, based on both revenue and total number of pounds sold.
On Sept. 26, Impossible Burger became available in all 100 outlets of Wegmans in seven states and two Fairway locations in New York City. Impossible Burger immediately became the No. 1 single item sold in the meat department at Fairway’s two Manhattan locations.

I really don't get the appeal of these fake meat burgers especially given the price. From what I've seen around here, those restaurants and stores that sell them charge quite a bit more for them than for a real meat burger. The place where I had lunch today charges $3 more for "Beyond Meat" burgers than for the real thing.
$9 for a Fake burger with a side of fries VS only $6 for the real thing. That's a 50% price increase! No way I'm paying that.
Edit to add: And besides being so much more expensive, the "Beyond Meat" patties are significantly smaller, so the price difference is even more outrageous.

People are being caught up in the insanity of this "go vegan, go vegetarian, give up meat because ....." litany. I truly believe the devil is laughing himself silly over this whole "alt meat" business. It will weaken, probably even sicken, people, in time. We need to be strong and healthy if we're going to live according to God's Word. We're encouraged to persevere to the end; to run the race set before us ... {I can't find the scriptures I'm looking for by book, chapter, & verse ) Some more outrageous facts on the popularity and sales of the Impossible Burger: Puts me in mind of 1 Timothy 4:1-5 1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

I have a friend who posted a photo today of herself with some friends. She had on this sweatshirt, which I thought fits with our Alt Meat thread, so I grabbed a copy to share here: ~ attachment removed by original poster ~ I like this sweatshirt, and I'd wear it because it would let me explain to so many I know who are just flat convinced that "plants do NOT contain protein!", like they're rabid about that. But, I would probably confuse people since I'm a meat eater, not a vegan.
