Happy to hear y'all are safely at home, Jeanette. That's wild about chickens & roosters being protected species. I'm going to have to kid a local realtor who is simply addicted to raising chickens. I'll bet she'd like that to be a law here. I went through a corner of the garage, where I knew there were a number of items we haven't seen in a really long time (several years). I was looking for some framed artwork to hang in my office. It's kind of funny how much my taste in art has changed. I have 3 pieces I really want to keep and display, and a couple that I'd like to sell because they're "just not me" any more. I found a piece that I gifted my mother the first Christmas I was in Oklahoma. It's a print of an original large oilfield NE of here. I really like the photo, and the frame, but it has some mildew on it. I'm going to see if I can clean it up this weekend and then maybe re-frame it, or see if it needs a little restoration work. That ^^^ was fun. I found a couple of items that belong to a retired First Sergeant whose rent house was managed by a property management firm I worked at about a decade ago. I have no idea where he is, or if he's even alive. He was married to a Ukrainian woman, and they were living in the Ukraine. He called me a year or so ago and was shocked to hear I didn't work for that company any longer. He had a specific question about his house that I couldn't answer, not working there any longer. I'm going to do a little research and see if I can figure out if he still owns the house. Hope you're all doing well this evening.

Re roosters & chickens: Funny thing I said to my DH, if they’re so protected then why are there so many chicken dishes in restaurants etc? (He said they must be imported. lol)
I don’t know … another big to do is “one human family” :-X (My remark to DH re this slogan was unless you’re unborn !)
You guys are able to Google both of these stories to learn more … I did
There’s a lot of :-X there besides interesting history
My favorite places: the NEX & Commissary, about a 15 min drive from where we stayed. It was nice spending time with DH somewhere we’ve never been, but way too crowded for my liking, lots of tourists stuff to do with business/activities appears to be center around drinking, as well as water tourism stuff.
There’s history and other interesting family places, like the butterfly conservatory & little White House re Truman,
tourism is like everywhere else re activities … we didn’t do research before going until the night before on YouTube lol
There is a place, Dry Tortugas National Park, but it’s booked months in advance and only accessible via ferry or sea plane.
there is so much to do & see re museums etc, just looking it up some more now! lol
I’m really just ready to go home before I go anywhere lol
Plus I’m always so ready to hear Jesus call to meet Him in the air!
Night Grouphug

Good morning! It's 57, with heavy clouds. It's expected the wind will pick up and blow those clouds away. Should be in the high 70s with lots of sun this afternoon. I'm going to google those topics, Jeanette. Your DH's answer that those chickens for the restaurant dishes must be imported cracked me up! The Mayor's wife passed away yesterday. That caught the local residents by surprise - kind of shocked the whole town. I'd never met her, but I'm casually acquainted with the Mayor - this is basically a small town at heart. Well, the garbage truck just ran down our street. I got to watch it pick up & dump that filled-to-the-brim trashcart we set at the curb last night. I call that sight "performance art". Praying with you, Mel, that everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend.

Good morning, Jeanette! Good morning, Mel! It's a beautiful sunny day here. We had a really heavy dew overnight. The grass is starting to grow nicely. You can really tell it's a holiday weekend. I went to the commissary yesterday afternoon, since we only worked till 1 & then shut the office. People were elbow to elbow, and the best way to get a parking place was to circle till someone left. There were a lot of empty spots on shelves, and turkeys and hams were flying out the door. I found everything on my list except fresh pico de gallo. We can do without that so it was a really good shopping trip. And then, I met DS at the cellphone store we use. He'd just dropped his phone in water in the previous hour and the screen display re-ally soaked it up. He said he thought that phone was supposed to be waterproof - ?!? The cellphone store clerk had a good laugh over that. Said, yeh, they're not very waterproof, regardless of what the ad had said when he bought the phone. I made him an authorized user on the account so he can go back today and see what sort of a deal he can get on a special they're running. edited to add: since the account is in my name, the cell phone company won't/can't talk to anyone else about phone trade-ins, purchases, or plan changes. The funny part was the clerk asking me 3 times if I understood what it meant to give DS authority on the account? Oh, yeh - I had to laugh. I am not worried about him messing up the cell phone account. So I skipped going to Ollie's to look for throw rugs. Decided instead to swing through the drive-thru at Burger King and pick up a couple of those new fiery fish sandwiches. You were right, Mel. They're not particularly spicy, but I liked whatever they've put on them. It's a great savory flavor, and left a good taste in my mouth. Planning to stay home all of today and tomorrow. Hope you're all doing well, whatever you're doing this afternoon.

Y'know how the internet will provide more information on something you've been discussing, especially when you haven't asked it? And an article follows that discusses fish sandwiches from all 6 places. The humorous thing is that McDonald's was the first fast food restaurant to offer a fish sandwich, after Ray Kroc was determined that he never would, and their fish sandwich was considered to be so pitiful that it didn't make the Top 5 in this article. Nonetheless, Burger King's new Fiery Fish sandwich was rated the #2 best fish sandwich. The article is a fun read, and not very long. getpocket.com/explore/item/what-s-the-best-fast-food-fish-sandwich-we-ranked-the-top-5?utm_source=pocket-newtab-en-us

We don't have Bojangles around here so I can't comment on that one, but I agree with all of their rankings otherwise.
