Good morning! It is a chilly 25 degrees here this morning, but we are expecting to reach the low 50s by this afternoon. I have a Dr appointment a little later this morning. After that I plan to do the laundry and try to get caught up on the housework this afternoon. Praying for all needs today.

Good morning! It's 54 at 9 a.m., with a lot of dark snow clouds to the west. There's no precip of any type in the forecast, that's just what the clouds look like. We have a high of 64 forecast for this afternoon. Lots of water pipes thawing and bursting around town. We're having problems with that at the 7 cabins & over at the 34-unit complex. Nita's already said this is gonna be a long day. I'm heading out as soon as I feed these dogs. Okla U is playing their bowl game today; kickoff is at 4:30. I'm hoping to be home by not later than halfway through the 1st quarter. Y'all have a great day!

That mounted part of a vehicle is pretty good, Mel. I have relatives who've hit deer more than once, my bff has also, and so has DS - a deer jumped right into the front quarter panel on the driver's side about 3 years ago. Mm, boy, was she shocked! Fortunately, none of the relatives nor DS were hurt, but their vehicles were seriously damaged. My BFF's car was totaled. Beautiful day here. It was 69 for a high. Nita & I spent the afternoon inspecting empty rental properties for broken pipes or other winter storm damage. I didn't keep count of how many we saw, but it was a bunch. Of course, the very one she wanted to have winterized, which the owner's assistant insisted she not do, is the one where we found the broken pipe in the laundry room. The most interesting thing that happened was at the 34-unit complex. People over there were going nuts this afternoon - outside yelling at each other, non-stop cursing. Good grief. Nita & I laughed about the bad moods we left there with - we went to lunch and got over it, and that's when we were laughing about how crazy our hour at that location had been. The only good thing that occurred over there this afternoon was Nita came away with an 8-week old chihuahua in her arms. I snuggled that dog up in my jeans jacket, which I was wearing, so the little guy was right up under my chin. He slept with his head on my collarbone for awhile. We stopped by her house so she could drop him off. I'll be curious next week to see what they named him. I think we've eaten up all the leftovers from Christmas & the day after. I have to take a look at a couple of recipes I'm fixing for New Year's Eve & make sure I have everything to make them.

Good morning! it is 43 degrees here this morning with a forecast high for today of around 60. That is quite a change from this time last week when we had three days in a row of record breaking cold temps. Hope you all have a great day!

‘Morning Everyone
We got the taxes prepayment together to post yesterday, but the post office was super crowded. ‘Try again today to post them! The accountant suggested paying on line, but neither of us are comfortable with that idea plus challenging to figure out government websites.
I got on line to check charge card & discovered DH’s card had been used to rent an auto on 12/26! Nope he hadn’t done so & it was for over 800.00! So after a few hrs of dealing with the charge company, disputing that charge & ordering a new card … we finally got outside for a much needed walk, before the sun went down.
I checked & the deer corn was eaten, so I put more out.
Last night, besides tv & chores, ‘baked oatmeal lace cookies until after midnight.

Good morning! It was 36 at 8 a.m. but now up to 44. It may reach 60 this afternoon. Gonna be warmer over the weekend. We still have poor tenants with broken pipes and backed up sewers. I'm going grocery shopping as soon as I feed the dogs. We need some canned blackeyed peas. I'm making a pot of Cajun Blackeyed Peas with Okra for New Year's Eve. That's really rough that someone used your DH's credit card that way. There's a snake-y guy calling the office phone this morning, fishing for information on the 67-unit complex because he's an interested buyer of that place. Nita warned me yesterday not to tell anybody anything so I was working hard to put him off. He was really wheedling till I joked around about not giving out Nita's personal cell phone # & he turned snotty. Guess I hurt his feelings. I texted Nita to let her know he'd called, "plying me for information", and my darn cell phone changed that to "paying me" for information. That's funny too, but I was trying to shoot her a text before he called her cell #. Well ... I've gotta see if I can get ahold of a 'water out' company to clean up a couple of flooded apartments. See y'all later.

Almost midnight ... The Tennessee vs Clemson Orange Bowl game was pretty good this evening. Watching that & sorting emails was a good unwinding event this evening. At least one major plumbing project was finished late this afternoon, finally. Hopefully, the 7-units (the cabins) have water tonight, but I don't know for sure. If they do, that would just leave a tenant with a gas pipeline break to be fixed in the morning. Yeh, it was a long day. I brought home pizza or dinner. It's hard to believe that tomorrow is the last day of 2022. Praying that 2023 is a good, or even great, year for us who believe in, and have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Praying to follow Him more closely; and to be ready & willing to do His Will. I love y'all and I'll see you tomorrow!

‘Morning Everyone Temp here at 5:45am is 50 degrees Headed up to 59 degrees & rainy day
SIL #4 & two grands are at DD#3 & her DH home for the weekend. DD#4 stayed in VA with their three younger kiddos & dog, two kiddos are ill. Praying for DD#4 & baby to stay healthy.
We’ll visit at DD#3’s home today, as drop by invite …
‘Having a rough week physically, but thankful to be getting outside daily! Walked with DH daily, except yesterday. I opted to ride bike & meet up with a friend on the greenway. I haven’t had energy to do a lot, even less so than my usual. I think because of the bitter cold weather last weekend, than the warmer temperatures & now rainy … plus all the extra treats … :-X
May you all have a blessed New Year’s Eve!

Good morning! It is really staying dark here this morning, and it looks like it is going to be a relatively cool and rainy mid 40s day here all day. The weather forecast for this evening doesn't look promising for our town's New Year's Eve fireworks show. It is hard to believe that we have reached the last day of the year already! I've taken the Christmas wreath off of the front door, packed away the little nativity set that was on my dining room table, and switched out the 2022 wall calendar for the new 2023 one. Praying for all needs today, and praying that you and your loved ones have a very happy and blessed New Year!

Around these parts, the traditional New Year's meals are steamed shrimp for New Year's Eve and pork & sauerkraut for New Year's day. When I was growing up, we always had sauerkraut with hot dogs cut up in it. I didn't get started eating blackeyed peas until I came to Oklahoma. Gotta go let in a tenant who locked himself out. But, if he pays the lockout charge, I get it. This guy is 'off his meds', we think.
