Luv the "Boxing Day for Kitties!" I don't do it, but I know of some people (mostly Catholic) that include a dragon figure in their nativity scene because of the opening verses of Revelation chapter 12 (Rev. 12:1-5) That scripture from Revelation came to mind when I saw the first dragon in someone's yard, but nonetheless I don't think it fits into a joyous celebration ... and I really wonder if the folks who included a dragon in their front yard here had any particular reason for it. It wasn't part of a nativity scene in the yard. (I'm doubting their motives.) For one thing, Oklahoma's Catholic population was approximately 3% 35 years ago. I read a couple of years ago that it was up to 6-7%. My late husband's family & all of their branches with in-laws & out-laws were staunch Catholics living in Wisconsin and upstate NY, and none of them put a dragon in their nativity scenes or any other part of their Christmas decorations. Thanks for answering my question, Mel. If I see someone in the future with a dragon as part of their Christmas display, I'll probably ask them what it means to them (do a little sleuthing, hehe).

I'm also having fun experimenting with my Christmas gift from Sharon's family: I've never had an air fryer before, but I've often considered getting one. It also has a setting for dehydrating, so I need to do a little research on what type of beef makes for the best jerky. That's a good looking air fryer! Venison makes great jerky. I've never done it, but friends & relatives have. Ours is the toaster oven/air fryer combined so it looks more like a toaster oven. Don't think it would do jerky. The vet said Milo Man has apparently made a good recovery. It's a relief! I hope he isn't tempted to chase any more fat field mice.

I'm glad to hear that Milo is doing good now.
One thing that I really like about this air fryer is that it can hold two small fryer baskets or one big basket, and when in 2 basket mode the two sides can be set for different cooking times and/or temperatures.

Another thing that a lot of people around here put in their nativity scenes that I am not a fan of is a figure of Santa Clause (or sometimes St Nicolas) kneeling next to the manger. Of course, some folks put all sorts of characters in their nativity scenes just to try to be funny or clever. Over the last few weeks, I have seen a number of nativities on Facebook and in people's yards that had all of the usual characters like the Holy family, wise men, shepherds, angels, animals, etc, but with one or two popular modern characters like Batman, Baby Yoda, or Donald Trump.

I was watching news coverage of the blizzard in Buffalo NY. As bad as the weather was here for a few days, we got off easy compared to those poor people.

Yeh, I wrinkle up my nose at all of that stuff. It strikes me as a form of blasphemy. I probably shouldn't be surprised, considering how much Biblical teaching and people following the principles of Christianity are waning in this country. Doesn't mean I have to consider it as acceptable.

Good morning! It's currently 27 degrees, with a windchill of 17. The sun is shining brightly & the temperature is supposed to reach the low 50s this afternoon. That's something to look forward to, but it may still be pretty chilly. The holidays have me thrown off on keeping up with dates & days of the week. We didn't have "1 more avocado" this morning, like I thought we should have. I thought I'd bought enough to have one for Monday, and I had. We ate it yesterday. Today is Tuesday! I called & caught Nita up on 'who' may be calling her & I forwarded the rental dept phone to her. I'll get it back this afternoon when I go to work, I just know there's no reason for me to answer these calls from people who want to wheedle & threaten about paying rent (really they want to get out of paying rent, but that's not going to happen). I had one guy call yesterday to ask if we could make an arrangement, after all, he just wanted to give his little girl a Christmas so he spent the rent money on her. I told him, firmly, "No." So he turned ugly & said it was our fault because he'd sent his wife to our office with the money and we weren't open last Friday. She could have put the money order in the dropbox, so that excuse didn't work either. Well, want to do some quick straightening up the house before I head out so I'll see y'all later!

Good morning! It's in the low 50s this morning, but expected to reach the high 60s by late afternoon. And sunset today is at 5:31! <-- i.e., going in the right direction! Yay!! Well, getting maintenance calls like crazy so I have to get a move on & get to the office. Nita just got there & she doesn't know why nobody else was there yet (she knows I'll be there between noon & 1 unless I come early so she wasn't worried about me - she just didn't know about the receptionist or her partner's assistant). So ... heading off early to hold down the fort! Hope y'all have a wonderful day!
