He wasn't in the top position, both when elected and when appointed ...
When he & the guy in the top position campaigned at one time, they used the first syllable of their last names, which rhyme, as a slogan or part of a slogan.

He preferred silver over gold, and did not ever run for election to the top position.
He was a member of a secret society, tho' not one you may have ever head of. It's primary goal, apparently, was to complete a land grab.

This campaign poster is great!

This actress got her start on a daytime soap opera but has played many roles in both film and TV.
She has done everything from drama, to comedy, to horror, to sci-fi, and even cartoon voice acting.

She played a small but important supporting roll in one of the more recent "Star Wars" projects.

Oh, boy, I'm so out of the loop on Star Wars! I did a search on Star Wars Women and didn't see her, maybe because she had a small role. If Scott doesn't figure her out, I'll look another day.

She did have a few scenes with Baby Yoda.

Her last name could be described as sounding "Avian".

Is this Emily Swallow? I'm so out of the loop on Star Wars that I have no idea on anything Mandalorian. From your clue, I instantly thought of barn swallows - 2 of them were dive bombing the front of our house on Saturday. I googled Star Wars actress with name Swallow and she popped right up.

Emily Swallow is correct.
Her Star Wars character is the Mandalorean Armorer (basically a high tech sci-fi version of a blacksmith):

This guy was a Catholic, but eventually came to believe (falsely, imo) that religion was passing into oblivion and he became an atheist. He was an author and professor who often sided with the views of the Democratic party through the 60s.
